Inside the Fragrant Teahouse in East Sea City,

Ye Feng nervously filled up a cup from the pot of five hundred yuan worth Bi Luo Chun tea for the haughty future mother-in-law sitting before him. The clear color of the tea and its strong aroma were pleasing, but before he could even sit down, he said, "Auntie, I hope you can understand my feelings for Xiaolan. I will work doubly hard to provide her the best life possible."

However, Xu Xa showed no compassion or sympathy upon hearing his words.

With her cold, unyielding face, all she could manage was a derisive laugh. "From the fact that you grew up without a father, to a sick mother, and a brother who needs to go to school, do you think a salary of two thousand five hundred is enough? And you're thinking of dating my daughter? Do you think I was born yesterday or am I missing a brain? Ye Feng, let me make my point clear, forget about it! My daughter will marry a rich man, you simply don't qualify!"

Spitting words full of venom, she finished her tirade, leaving Ye Feng to only wipe it passively from his face.

With a bitter smile, he had to awkwardly retort, "Auntie, no one can love Xiaolan more than I do..."

"And what good is your love! Do you think you can live on love? Without money, you could die at the hospital door, and no doctor would look at you!" Xu Xa glared at him.

All Ye Feng could muster was another bitter smile.

However, he bent down to pick up a handbag from the ground, and opened it. "Auntie, although my family is poor, we have some old stuff. This... is a so-called ancient painting passed down from generation to generation that I plan to sell to an antique shop. That way, I can give Xiaolan a happy life."

Xu Xa, being the opportunist she was, immediately looked interested, and her attitude slightly improved.

But Ye Feng's anxious expression didn't relax at all.

Next, he unrolled the so-called ancient painting. But the moment Xu Xa looked at it, her face instantly turned sour! And even a trace of anger appeared in her eyes! "Ye Feng, you've got some nerve! Do you really think I am some uninformed bumpkin that you can trick?! You're planning to sell this painting? If you throw it on the street, I guarantee even the waste pickers won't give it a second glance! Even if you sell it as waste paper, no one would want it. You're a cheat, I can't let my daughter jump into this fire pit that you call a life!"

"Auntie, listen to me, this really is an ancient painting!" Ye Feng hurriedly replied.

"Disgusting! Poor loser! Shut up!"

Xu Xia, furious, stood up abruptly, about to leave before Ye Feng hurriedly grabbed her arm. "Auntie, give me another chance. I promise I’ll make a prominent achievement as soon as possible that will satisfy you!"

"With your pathetic state, by the time you accomplish anything, my daughter will be old, and I’ll be in my coffin. Get lost!"

Xu Xia roared, lifting a cup of tea from the table and directly threw it in Ye Feng's face when she saw him not letting go.

In an instant, Ye Feng stepped back. Xu Xia shook off his hand and walked out, slamming the door behind her.

Dignity it seems, was worthless when humiliated!

The private room was left with only Ye Feng, in absolute silence, reflecting his embarrassed anger and desperate heart. The sound of dripping tea running down his resolute face echoed in the room. Xu Xia's cold and harsh words played relentlessly in his mind. Eventually, Ye Feng let out an angry roar and punched the tea table. Boom! A terrifying noise reverberated, his knuckles torn and bloodied, blood dripping out instantly!

Ye Feng grit his teeth, chest heaving.

Looking at the blood flowing from his knuckles, running along the tea table, and staining an ancient painting, it turned this incomplete painting a shade of red.

As harsh as Xu Xia's words were, they held truth. The painting, though old and passed down from generations, was so tattered and worn that almost no original details remained. Mold spots covered the surface. Unless examined closely, one couldn't make out the figure of an old man with a bun in the half-meter painting. Ye Feng was indeed penniless - no father, a sick mother, and younger brother in college, all dependent on his meagre monthly salary. Where could spare money come from?

Even the 500 yuan for today's tea had taken him a month of tight budgeting to save, only to end up being mocked by Xu Xia.

Ye Feng glanced at the ancient painting angrily.

Suddenly, his eyes widened in shock!

He noticed the blood staining the ancient painting started to gather inexplicably towards the old man's eyes in the painting. In no time, the finely painted eyes turned a ghastly red, giving an eerie feeling. Following that, a mysterious golden light erupted out of them!

Ye Feng was astounded!

In a panic, he held his breath and his heartbeat seemed to stop!

It felt as if the golden rays emanating from the old man's blood-red eyes had suddenly pierced his own. The prickling, burning sensation was so powerful that his head, which had been clear a moment ago, suddenly went blank. His body, devoid of all strength, crumpled to the floor.

At the same time, the weather-beaten ancient painting on the tea table also oddly transformed itself into a fine layer of powder...

Approximately half an hour later, Ye Feng woke up in a state of confusion.

When he opened his eyes, it was the teahouse's female waitress who was standing next to him, looking surprised, "Sir, are you okay?"

"...."

At her words, Ye Feng's eyes wide-spun open suddenly.

"Sir, sir, should I call 120 for you?" The female waiter asked again.

"No, I...am fine."

Ye Feng stood up abruptly, his face slightly flushed, and his voice a little stuttery. He was avoiding eye contact with the waitress, afraid to look at her. Looking at the ancient painting on the table which had remarkably turned into powder, Ye Feng was also astonished!

However, he didn't pursue it further, and turned to leave instead.

Because he found something even weirder!

His eyes... could see through the waitress's skirt and blouse.

This…

Could it be that his eyes had gained superpowers?

Ye Feng, both scared and excited, left the teahouse. He looked around on the bustling street, nearly dropping his jaw to the ground in astonishment! The tall, enchanting, and graceful beauties, who used to not even give him a glance, were now appearing in his line of sight, their clothes turning transparent, revealing their fiery and sexy bodies!

The more he thought about it, the more outlandish and peculiar it seemed. Ye Feng didn't have time to ponder on it. He could only walk faster towards his home, his mind buzzing with thoughts about his girlfriend, Xiao Lan.

On his way, he absentmindedly passed by the antique street in the old city district. Suddenly, somebody bumped into him. With a cracking sound, the muscular man before him stopped in his tracks, beating his chest and stamping his feet in agony. He began yelling at him, "Boy, why did you bump into me? You made me break my family's wood carving! This is a Wuzisonfufu carved from Mahogany of Manjusri! Do you know how much it's worth? Now it's in two pieces, and you can't escape now!"

The muscular man grabbed Ye Feng's collar in an instant!

Suddenly, three or four tattooed guys, each with a tiger and a dragon inked on them, surrounded Ye Feng.

The passerby all stopped to gawk, while the old antique street veterans looked at the unfortunate Ye Feng with sympathy. This wasn't the first time Du Xiao Long and his gang were playing their old 'hit-and-run' scam on this antique street. But who would dare to stand up against them? These people were infamous for playing dirty tricks.

"You were the one who bumped into me first, weren't you?" Ye Feng uttered gruffly.

"Kid, are you looking for a beating or what?! You, obviously, bumped into my mahogany carving and broke it, yet you dare to say that I bumped into you! Rethink carefully, or else I'll slap you!"

Du Xiao Long threatened, lifting his hand to slap Ye Feng.

However, in a flash, Ye Feng reached out and grabbed his wrist!
