Her heart was beating so fast that it felt as if it was going to burst out of her chest. It was so dark that she could barely see where she was going and the thick sheets of rain obscuring her vision made it even more difficult for her to keep running.

The harsh rain pierced her skin, her legs were getting tired and she was running out of air but she didn't care. She had to keep running.

She kept running deeper and deeper into the woods but finally stopped in her tracks to catch her breath.

In that moment, the moment she stopped running, she realized how quiet everywhere was, as quiet as a graveyard. The was hardly anything moving.

She looked back only to find out that there was nothing, not even the sound of footsteps behind her. No one was chasing her.

  "Weird", she thought.

If there was no one chasing her, why was she running?

"So what am I running from?" Aria wondered as fear started to rise in her, making her heart beat a little faster. Just then, she heard footsteps approaching her from behind.

Her heart started to pound heavily so that she could hear her own heartbeat. For some seconds, she stood there, paralyzed with fear, thinking in her heart that it was the end.

With the little bits of courage she had left in her, she turned around slowly, lifting her head to look at the the dark figure standing in front of her.

With a trembling voice, she asked; Who are you?

"Please who are you and what do you want from me?", she managed to ask again when there was no reply the first time.

Suddenly, the clouds parted and a beam of light fell from the dark sky, shining on the dark figure in front of her.

She gasped in horror as she immediately recognized the figure in front of her.

It was Kevin, the one person she thought she'd never see again.

"Kevin?", she said in a low trembling voice.

  "It's you, isn't it?"

There was a moment of silence.

Aria held her face in fear as the figure slowly moved towards her.

"This has to be a dream.", She said to herself in a low voice before inhaling deeply.

She exhaled slowly, trying to calm herself down. But it was no use as the figure was only two steps away from her.

"Yes, it's me.", The figure finally said with contempt in his voice.

  His eyes flashed with anger.

  No.

  It couldn't be.

"You must have thought you'd never see me again."

Aria held her head in fear trying to process what was happening. After a few minutes, she finally opened her mouth, struggling to speak.

  "But...."

"You are dead", she said teary-eyed.

  You...you died.

"And whose fault is that?", he replied, crossing his arms with an expression full of scorn.

Tears had started to well up in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Kevin."

"I'm sorry I didn't keep my promise. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me the most. I'm sorry I turned my back on you", she continued.

"It's all my fault." she finally said as the tears started to trickle down her cheeks.

Her words only infuriated him and he moved closer to her. Grabbing her arm roughly, he said: I don't need your apology.

"I only want you to go through the same thing I went through. To feel what I felt.", he said in anger.

Her whole body started to shake as her breath came out in short gasps.

"When I needed you the most, you weren't there. You turned your back on me when I thought you were going to stand by me.", he continued.

She was already feeling very weak and faint that she could barely stand but his words made her feel even weaker. Seeing this, he loosened his grip on her and took a few steps back.

With all the strength in her gone, she slowly fell to the ground, hitting her head against the log of wood on the ground. She slowly closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable - her end.

One last tear rolled down her cheek as she let out a heavy exhale.
