Chapter 1:

The sound of heavy breathing, moans and grunt filled the room, but it was soon followed by the sound of ripped clothing. And after that, Mia could only feel.

With every touch, he made her body feel like it was on fire, and she was confused wondering what was happening but her body was too weak to protest. She was only able to move her hands and she reached out to touch it, the thing responsible for making her feel this way.

Its texture is very strong, complementing her soft one, and it feels cold as an ice cube but somehow makes her feel warm with every touch, every caress. And she would only want to get closer and closer, clinging on to him tight, as he hugged her with as much intensity.

At this moment, Mia has no idea she looked just like the charm of seaweed, but a very pure one as her long black hair scattered on the white bed.

Just around the bed, few pieces of her clothing can be seen lying everywhere in the room except on the large bed which is covered with white sheets.

Apart from the bed, the rest of the decoration in the room is black, including the curtains that are pulled up around the four sides of the room. It’s black, inlaid with golden dark lines on the edge..

From the window, the reflection of the light sprinkled down on them, illuminating the two bodies in the dark room as they entangled in each other's arms.

***********

“Argh!” Mia groaned inwardly as she massaged her forehead gently. She woke up with a very big headache and she blamed it all on the glass of wine that she took at her sister's engagement party, and that was the only thing she remembered doing last night.

Mia can’t seem to remember what happened next, or how she got tucked in bed. But as she massaged her forehead gently, memories of last night started flooding in bit by bit, but it was a bit scattered.

As flashes of a man popped up in her head, She remembered being in his arms, a man she hadn't seen before. And her face turned red as she recalled being entangled with him intimately, but she thought it was a dream.

“What sort of dream was that?” Mia wondered because she couldn’t imagine herself in the arms of another when her heart belonged to one..

As thoughts of that crossed her mind, memories of last night flashed again but it was of the party. Mia remembered sitting at a corner gulping her drink and crying her eyes out because the man who she loves so much with all her heart will belong to someone else.

She cried so hard that it felt like her eyes would tear. “Argh!” She groaned again softly when she touched her eyes gently. “No wonder my eyes feel so sore.” She muttered to herself before trying to forget all about it. Because seeing the man she loves in the arms of another woman hurt her so much.

As she tried to forget all about it, Mia decided to get ready for her rehearsal. But as she was about to get out of bed, she felt paralyzed like her strength had been sucked. And not only did she feel weak, but the part in-between her thigh feels so sore.

“Argh, what is happening to me?" She groaned softly, and her eyes widened as she became consumed with fear when memories of her and the stranger cuddling on the bed flashed again in her head.

Her heart pounded very fast, as Mia wondered if the flashes of the man popping in her head were real or from her dream that she thought she had. At that moment, she noticed that the room she was in looked nothing like her room, and she panicked.

Where am I?

Just then, she felt something move beside her and when she turned slowly to see what it was, she couldn’t see it because it was hiding underneath the white blanket. With a trembling hand she reached for the blanket slowly and when she opened it, Mia's eyes widened in shock.

A Handsome man was sleeping underneath. She gasped, but covered her mouth to muffle the sound. At that moment, all her confusion cleared and it dawned on her that her memories with the stranger are in fact real and not a dream.

Gripped by fear, she didn’t know when she jumped out of the bed, but quietly. Then, she quickly scanned around for her clothing, but found it lying scattered almost everywhere around the bed but none was on the bed and she was relieved because she wanted to leave this place as quietly as possible without waking him.

Mia wasn’t even interested in finding out who he was and why he took advantage of her. She was so ashamed of her action that all the thoughts that were in her head was to run as far away from him as possible, and in the future she hopes they never meet.

After hooking her bra, Mia picked his white shirt and put it on. As she hooked the button her hands were trembling. She wore his shirt because no single piece of her clothing apart from her bra was intact. The pink dress she wore to her sister’s engagement party has been ruined as well as her pink panties.

When she was done hooking the last button of his shirt, she tiptoed her way towards the bed to pick her mobile device lying very close to it, and after picking it she fled.

As she ran out of the room, she wasn’t watching where she was going and slammed into a brick like wall. Her already hurting head hurt even more and she rubbed it gently before looking up to see the wall she ran into but her eyes locked with a man's black eyes, he was wearing a suit.

Not wanting to waste any more time lingering around before the stranger wakes, she mutters a “sorry” hurriedly before stepping past him and fleeing out of the building.

It wasn't until she stumbled down the road that she spared a glance back, and realized she just ran out of New Horizon hotel, a popular international hotel. Her eyes widened, and she couldn't help but cower her head in shame as she crossed to the other side of the road in search of a bus stop or a train station.

As she walked hurriedly, almost running Mia couldn't help but notice the awkward look people on the other side of the road were throwing at her. Feeling self conscious, she tried pulling the hem of the shirt down because it barely got to her knee, but when she looked at their faces she noticed their eyes weren’t on her dress but her face.

Subconsciously, her hands went to her face. As she touched it gently, she noticed it was wet, covered with her tears, and her heavy make up had been smudged all over. She looked like a mess, and Mia tried wiping it off with her hand.

Completely distracted, Mia wasn’t watching her steps and she tripped, falling over to the ground and her mobile device that she had slipped in her pocket fell out of the shirt. Feeling embarrassed, she rose to her feet immediately after picking her mobile device.

With trembling hands, she held her phone checking if it had been broken but then noticed it was turned off. Pressing the power button, Mia turned it on immediately, and dozens of missed call notifications popped up, and all were from her sister, Ava. Feeling bad for making her sister worry so much, she decided to return the call.

But as she was about to return the call her phone rang and upon seeing who the caller was, that it’s her sister, tears slid down from the corners of her eyes, and she hesitated for a moment before answering the phone.

"Mia?” Her sister’s gentle voice echoed over the phone, and Mia responded.

“Yes it’s me sister-“ She gasped.

“Oh my God, thank goodness you're okay. Where have you been all night, and why did you leave my party without saying anything? I searched everywhere for you but couldn't find you, and when I tried calling you your phone was turned off.”

After listening to her, Mia's tears flowed even more fiercely, she could barely hold it in any longer and wanted nothing more but to tell her everything. But she decided against it, because it will only make her sister sad.

Yesterday's was her engagement party, and Mia doesn't want to ruin her happiness. Because she knows how excited her sister has been about it, with every chance she got she kept talking about it. And that's the main reason why she decided to keep the truth from her so that her sister will always be happy.

And the other reason why she doesn't want to tell her is because she is too ashamed to say it, she can't seem to bring herself to tell her that she woke up this morning in a total stranger's arms. And that she has no idea how she curled up in his arms in the first place.

So Mia decided to lie because she wishes to forget all about the unpleasant event. And as she lied to her sister, she made sure to sound cheerful in order not to give away the fact that she was crying.

"Sister, I'm so sorry for making you worry. Last night, something happened-"

"Something happened?" She gasped in shock. "Tell me please, what happened to you last night?"

"No, It's nothing serious-"

"Just tell me. I want to know. I'd like to know what's more important to you than your own sister, that you left my engagement party halfway. Do you know how worried I was about you? I was so scared thinking something bad had happened to you and all this while you were okay?"

"I'm sorry sister-"

"Don't apologize, just tell me what happened."

"Last night I... I just happened to bump into an old classmate of mine that I hadn't seen for a long time, so we went out to talk together, and before I knew it time went by so fast. And when I realized that it was already so late, I decided to sleep over, that's what happened. I'm so sorry to make you worry when I was doing just fine and haven't befallen harm-"

Upon hearing what she said, Ava sighed and she seemed to be relieved because her tone became relaxed. "It's okay, I'll forgive you this once but make sure it doesn't happen again. Most especially on my wedding day-"

"It won't happen Ava, I promise."

"Alright, I believe you. But just to be on the safe side, you will have to be among my bridesmaids, okay?" She says with a glint of excitement in her voice. "At least that way, I'll be rest assured. Because somehow last night you were able to escape," She stresses the word 'escape,' before continuing, and Mia sighs. "But this time you won't, if you're among my bridesmaids. So promise me Mia that you will be among my bridesmaids."

"Yes, I promise."

"Now remember you can't go back on your word, Mia."

"Yes, I know."

"Thank you." She muttered softly. "By the way, next month is my wedding with your brother-in-law, and the date has been fixed. Remember bridesmaids are not to run halfway."

As Mia heard that, her eyes became filled with sadness and she could do nothing but bow her head and say softly, "Okay. I understand. And sister, I will make sure to remember that too." As she said the words, she tried hard not to cry but she couldn't hold it in.

Her heart feels so heavy because the distance between her and her brother in-law keeps increasing. Everyday, they keep growing farther and farther apart and now his wedding date with her sister has been fixed.

Now all that she has left is to come in terms with it and wish her sister well, for her to always be happy.

"Bye Mia and see you soon." Ava's gentle voice echoed again over the phone, and Mia snapped out of her thoughts.

"Bye sister." She said softly, before her sister ended the call.

After Ava hung up the phone, a look of disappointment flashed in her eyes as she frowned. She can't seem to understand how her plan went wrong, because she had planned it all!

At this moment, in the bedroom of New Horizon international hotel, the man slowly opened his eyes. And the first thing he saw was his personal bodyguard Edmond who stood trembling with fear as his head hung low. He frowned because he was expecting to see the woman and not him.

As he glanced around, and slowly towards the side of the bed where she laid last night, his frown deepened as he glared at the few strands of her hair on the bed that fell during their last night sexual escapade, and the blood stain on the sheets that was a constant reminder of the event that happened last night between them.

She slept with me, and dared to walk away too? He can’t seem to fathom that, and his eyes darkened.

Jason's whole body exuded a violent aura, as he stared at the red blood stain on the bed again, along with the strands of her long black hair and his eyes became cold, matching the tone of his voice.

"Find her, whatever it takes!"

After hearing the clear order, Edmond was shocked because usually because of Jason's strange temper, when someone touches his hand slightly even by mistake he would get irritated and disgusted. But now, he is not only demanding that he finds the woman but at any cost too, a woman who not only touched his hand but had intimate relations with him!

But Edmond didn't dare question his decision. His eyes remained downcast as he bowed his head respectfully before leaving the room quietly.
