June 12, 2018. 12 midnight, Thursday.

"Blow the candle, Moon," her mother exclaimed, and Moon smiled back. She turned her gaze back to the man behind her, who smiled and nodded. She then turned her attention to her little brother, who is being carried by her mother.

She happily blew out the candle, and she heard claps and voices of two important people in her life singing her a 'Happy Birthday' song. Her emotions are difficult to describe at this time; she is just overjoyed, but a troop of immortal creatures approached their front gate and made a ruckus. Her father didn't even look outside before slipping the dagger into his pocket. Moon's feet are unable to move, and she is unsure of what she will do.

"M-mom, what's going on?" she questioned, her voice shaking, "why dad is in hurry?"

Her mom shifted her gaze to her, her blue sapphire eyes filled with sadness, anger, and nervousness. Her mother approached her and took her right hand; the next thing she knew, she was inside of a cabinet, her mother hiding within there to protect her.

"WHATEVER HAPPENS, MOON, DON'T GET OUTSIDE THIS CABINET." her mother said quietly, as if no one would hear them.

"But Mom, how ab-"

Her mother gave her a feeble grin and closed the cabinet door before she could finish her words because they both heard a pair of feet approaching into their room. She wanted to go outside, but it was too dangerous. She sobbed quietly, recalling that her young brother was carrying by her mother. 'What if something goes wrong with them?' trying not to make a sound, she asked herself.

She was nervous as she opened the door and sneaked into their stairwell after hearing three gunshots from the first floor of their house in just a few minutes. And there she witnessed those strange creatures eating her parents' corpses and drinking their blood. A vampire, to be precise. How does she know who they are?! Their eyes were bright crimson and ravenous for blood! She wailed silently once more, unsure of what to do.

Her eyes is drawn to a boy who's also crying, her young sibling! It had been carried by a vampire! She wanted to save her brother, and she was going to dash over those filthy vampires, but it was too late; the group of vampires had vanished in an instant, taking her brother with them. She dashed down the stairs and run towards to her parents, where she sat and cried as loudly as she could.

"F-ck it! Maybe if I did something for them, they won't d-die." Moon screamed angrily. She sobbed uncontrollably while clutching both of her parents' frigid bodies.

She stopped crying after an hour, wiped her tears aways, and gaze outside their house's glass window. She noticed a full moon that was half red in color. It seemed as though it were begging for more blood. She then had a sharp pain in her chest. A revenge. She wanted a revenge. Those filthy creatures will pay for it, life to life.

---------

Moon screamed, "Mom!", it was the same nightmare all over again. She sighed deeply, but before she could do anything further, a dagger flew at her. It's good thing she avoided it right away because it landed on her pillow, cut it's surface, and caused a mess on her bed.

She just shook her head. She grabs her seax and tosses it at the man standing inside her room. The man was caught off guard by her onslaught and is unsure on how to respond. Moon is adept on calculating distances, which is why it only landed on the side of his head.

"You did a great job, lil sis. You never cease to amazed me." He returned the seax Moon had thrown before, and she took it and placed it on her study table. Zeno, her brother, was the one who saved her from that night. He was not her biological brother, but he was the one who rescued her.

She sarcastically said, "Good Morning, elder brother."

Zeno approaches her bed, "You're already prepared, huh? So, I'm just dropping by to wish you luck and give my parting gift" he added and handed her a small box. She took it and opened it. The box contains three pieces of seax and three pieces of little daggers, it has a moon design on it.

"Thank you for this," Moon said with a smile.

Zeno just smiled at her and exited her room. It looks like he has something to do.

Moon stowed the daggers and seaxs in her luggage and planned to leave the next day.

She shrugged her head. It was her last day in this town. It's a 50/50 chance she'll make it out alive after she enters in that academy.

She let out a sigh.

Dark Quietus Academy isn't like any other school where students want to do well in class, receive good grades, or make new friends with whom they may have fun. In that school, your odds of surviving are 50/50. Those who are brave will survive, while those who are not will perish.

She'd use that school to track out those bloodsucker monsters. She got up and entered the bathroom. She took a bath before injecting a gold liquid into her right arm. She'll use this liquid as a palliative because she won't be able to control herself if she doesn't inject it. She'll make sure that those merciless vampires pay for what they did to her parents. They will taste their own blood.
