Katherine sniffed kicking,away an imaginary stone on the way though there was no stone as she trekked to the bus station to get a bus home.

　　The atmosphere was cool while people rushed to and fro to their respective destinations since it was getting dark already.

　　She had just lost her job;her sixth job actually and she felt sad because she loved that particular one.but sadly, she had never spent up to a year on a particular job as she was always getting fired at the end.

　　And it made her ask if she was cursed not to have a steady job because she was well aware of how attractive and beautiful she was. Flash back

　　Katherine danced nodding her head as she mopped the kitchen floor happily. She suddenly jerked when she felt someone beat her backside.

　　She turned to see her Madam's husband, smiling at her and she frowned.

　　"Please, stop doing that" she said but he only laughed.

　　"You're very cute when you're angry, kate. And what will you do if I don't stop?" He asked tauntingly.

　　"I'm going to report you to your wife" she replied angrily. he smiled moving closer to her.

　　"And you think she'll believe you?"

　　"Please stay away from me and don't come closer, sir" Kate said fearfully, while moving backwards. She turned to run but he grabbed her and slammed the door shut.

　　"You're not escaping me today katherine"

　　"Sir please don't do this" she pleased tearily.

　　She had to escape, there's no way she was going to give in to this man.

　　He advanced closer to grab a hold of her but she was quick, kicking him in the groin.

　　"Arrgh!, you bitch!" Mark cussed groaning in pain.

　　Katherine immediately headed for the door and bolted out but bumped into her madam who had confused expression.

　　"What's wrong?, And why are you sweating like this?" The woman asked. Kate opened her mouth to talk but the door opened and mark walked out still holding his groin area thightly while limping.

　　"Mark honey, what happened and why are you holding your balls?', she asked.

　　"It's because of this woman here tried to seduce me" mark said and madam tiara turned to look at kate angrily. "She's been trying for some time now My love, you should fire her. Look at what she did to me"

　　"It's not true ma'am tiara, I wouldn't do that. I'm innocent!" Katherine defended.

　　"Shut up you whore!" Tiara shouted."so you've been trying for destroy My marriage right??"

　　"No, that's not true, please let me explain" kate begged, tears flowed down her cheeks.

　　"I don't want to hear anything from you because you're fired!" ,Kate fell on her knees immediately.

　　"Ma'am please don't fire me, i beg you"

　　"Get out of my house!"

　　"Ma'am tiara please!"

　　"Get out katherine, here's your salary for this month" the woman threw an envelope to her.

　　Katherine stood up and picked up the envelope and walked out of the house. Flash back over

　　Tears rolled down her cheeks again, as she sat down in the bus. She has never been called a whore before and it hurt badly.

　　The bus came to a stop at her destination and she alighted walking to her best friend's work place.

　　She bumped into someone, while trying to enter the restaurant making her bag fall.anothe hand reached to pick it before she did and handed it to her.

　　She looked up at the person who smiled at her showing his white teeth.

　　His Raven black hair was styled neatly matching his dark sparkling eyes. he looked handsome with his pink lips and firm build up.

　　"I'm sorry but are you okay?" The guy asked and she nodded.

　　"I'm sorry for bumping into you" he apologized and she smiled."it's okay, I'm sorry too"

　　"Your name?, mine is Terry Bradson"

　　"Katherine but kate for short" she said and he smiled again.

　　"Nice meeting you kate"

　　"Same here"

　　"Okay,see you around?"

　　"Okay,bye" she replied and walked into the restaurant in search of Becky.

　　Becky sighed sadly on seeing katherine walking towards her with a sad expression.

　　"Let me guess, it happened again?" She asked and kate nodded.

　　"Mr Mark was trying to force himself on me but when his wife came,he turned the story around. Mrs tiara immediately believed him and fired me" she narrated.

　　"I'm really sorry, don't worry you'll get another better job" becky assured hugging her thightly.

　　"Sometimes, I think I'm cursed; beautiful but unlucky"

　　"Don't say that kate, you'll get another job soon"

　　"I hope so becky"Kate replied sadly.

　　Katherine sighed tiredly as she plopped down on a seat in the restaurant. It had been three days now, three days of roaming the streets of los Angles in search of a job.

　　The two interviews she attended ended up badly. A waiter walked up to her "what would you like to have?'

　　"One cheese hamburger and a cold orange juice" she replied while the waiter left and came back to her orders.

　　She could've gone to Becky's work place but it seemed far now.

　　She finished her food, paid and boarded a taxi home.

　　She breathed out tiredly and plopped down on the couch.

　　"Oh, you're back!' Becky said coming out of the kitchen, They had been friends from the province before Kate's family moved to the city.

　　After her parents demise, becky came to stay with her to keep her company.

　　They took each other as sisters and were always together.

　　"So how was it?'Becky asked, sitting beside her.

　　"It was another bad one" Kate answered tiredly.

　　"Don't worry, you'll get one soon. I could ask miss Odetta if she knows of any job vacancies anywhere"

　　"Thanks so much Becky" she smiled gratefully.

　　"You're welcome. Go and freshen up, made you favorite"

　　"That's a relief, I wish you would always take the day off" Kate joked and they both laughed.
