I have lived here, in West Virginia since I was born. Memories of my mother singing to me while rocking me to sleep are a constant repeat in my mind. She would tell my stories of how she found her mate, my father. I have a tin of photos of both of them and all the little notes they left for each other and me. I have my mother's necklace in there too and my father's pocket watch.

My mother always had her hair in a bun or a curly ponytail. She wore a flowing dress often drifting into the wind, her wolf form was pure white. She was born with different colour eyes too one baby blue the other emerald green. I'm a spitting image of her but I have my father's markings, albeit almost invisible but they are there but only on my back.

My father tried his best to be there but he was a very busy man. I remember him skipping his meeting with the elders just to be at my first dance recital. They were not pleased and made it clear he was not to do it again. I felt sorry for him, but when he was home we played all evening.

He had fair black hair and stood at 6 foot 6 inches and had a fair but slightly deep voice. He mostly wore a tweed suit for work but at home he wore the comfiest clothes he could find.

Yesterday was my first birthday without them. They were murdered by some rogue wolves and dragged into the woods about a month ago. I've been packing since then as they didn't know I was at home, my father told me to hide. So I fled to our basement, and waited hours. I couldn't hear much just growls, my mother's shrieking just a very strong scent of blood, which I knew to be my parents. I had heard a powerful voice saying "we got them, move out!". I still can't believe they are gone forever. The house felt cold, empty and dark. Silence filled the house day and night. The walls riddled with claw marks stained with blood, the floors covered with broken glass. The house abandoned, all but me. Once my parents had been dragged away I let the darkness envelop me in its cold and empty embrace.

I had my long white hair in a high ponytail, my maxi dress on and my white denim jacket, everything I needed and wanted was in my duffel bag. I scouted around the house filling it with whatever food was left in the house and left, I ran to the woods and sniffed the air. No wolves around. I found a large hollow tree took my clothes off, stuffed them in my bag and shifted to my wolf. It felt good but I knew I had to move and fast, I didn't want to attract any attention from anyone or any wolf.

I enjoyed my run, wind in my fur the soft grass on my paws. I could smell nothing but the fresh air and nearby flowers. I did not stop running, I knew I wasn't safe yet. I was looking for a pack called "The Twilight Moon" said to be very powerful but they were alliances with my old pack. I needed to relocated due to my parents passing and apparently the rogue wolves had killed most of the pack. I was riddled with horrible memories. I needed a fresh start.

I felt tears escape my eyes but I didn't stop, I had to run, I had to run until I could no more.
