Caleb

The club was just like any other, with bars on either side of the room, tables in the back and a dance floor in front of the stage. The owner was a tall, muscular guy by the name of Tony. He had dark hair and looked like he came right out of the movie Goodfellas. He sat at a red booth with a perfect view of the stage. He was staring at it as if waiting for something special. He had goons, I mean guards, on either side of the booth. The two of them were similarly dressed to Tony and I couldn't help, but shake my head. What exactly had I walked into?

I walked to the booth looking him in the eye the whole way. When I got there I opened my mouth to speak, but Tony stopped me by putting his finger to his lips and going "sh!" My eyes nearly bulged out of my head and i don't think my brow could have furrowed any further down. Was this guy for real? Did he just shush me?! Before I got a chance to tell him off the lights dimmed, the spot lights I hadn't noticed pointed at the stage and I heard the song Bang Bang by Ariana Grande, Jessie J and Nicki Minaj come on only, it wasn't them singing.

Three girls were on the stage with their backs to us. The first girl turned around and began singing the Jessie J. verse. She was pretty, short brown hair, brown eyes, seemed to be about 5' 6" and had a killer voice, but it wasn't her who captured my attention.

When the Ariana Grande verse started I forgot where I was. The most captivating woman turned around. She was decently tall, at about 5' 8", flowing blonde hair about halfway down her back and the way she moved, man, it had every part of me coming to life. Her voice was beautiful, it had a calming effect on me. It made me feel a sense of home which not even my own home or pack could accomplish. I felt like nothing in my life had made sense up until this moment.  Then a word slipped past my lips I thought I'd never say, "Mate."

Lily

Something felt off when we finished our set. The girls were all hyped up like they always were when we got off the stage, but I just couldn't shake this feeling.

"Seriously, it gets more fun every night." Rachel said gleefully.

"Yeah we are so lucky Tony let's us do whatever we want." Ava replied as we approached our dressing room behind the stage. That's where Will was waiting for us.

"It's got nothing to do with luck. It's because Tony wants in Lily's pants." He stated.

I just shook my head at him and gave him the finger. He's my best friend. He is also extremely handsome, with long dark hair and dark eyes, he's about 6'1", with more muscle than you could ever imagine. Even by shifter standards he was considered buff. It was part of the reason he was exiled from his own pack. The alpha felt he was too much of a threat to his rule. Will had no interest in being an alpha though and I doubt his alpha could have forced him to leave anyway. The real reason Will left was for his sister, Rachel. Their pack was trying to force her to marry someone who was not her mate. The guy happened to also be more than twice her age.

"Oh the luxuries of being female in a male dominated world." I thought sarcastically.

Then of course their is Ava. Standing at about 5'2" with a platinum blonde bob and pale blue eyes she was one of the most gorgeous girls you could have ever imagined. Why she hangs with us I will never know. She's a witch who was abused by her coven. They believed she was to be one of the strongest witches to have ever been born. They tried to use her since she was a child, forcing her to do magic beyond her level, working her until she would pass out. As I have heard, doing magic is extremely draining of one's body and energy especially when you don't know how to wield it. So, she left them as soon as she could.

And that was us: the exiled, the runaways, the packless. Whatever you want to call us, but we just called each other family and we were lucky to have found each other. We haven't stopped running since we met Ava. That was until about 3 months ago when we stumbled upon this club.

We were just looking for somewhere to let loose for the night. A little fun after running for so long. We happened to meet Tony and he was just so nice. I felt an instant connection with him. He told us we could stay on his land as long as we wanted. He happens to be the alpha of the Crescent Wolves. He also happens to be extremely good looking

it's a shifter thing

. He's around 25. He is probably about 6'2", and while he is muscular, he isn't quite as much as Will. He as well has dark hair, but where Will's is more of a chocolate color, Tony's was almost black. He also had it slicked back pretty much always. His eyes are what made his face though, they were green with silver specks in them, I could stare into his eyes forever. I digress though. Tony has asked us to join his pack on numerous occasions, but none of us are ready for that, and because of this he won't let us stay in the town where the rest of the pack lives. We sleep in the motel down the street from the club, luckily Tony owns it as well. He let's us stay there for free as long as we do our nightly show. Which he knows we enjoy as much as he does.

Life was starting to seem somewhat normal recently, that was, until tonight. I have great instincts, and right now they were telling me something was up.

After we finished changing into our regular clothes I had to speak up. "Guys it's time for us to go."

"Go? What do you mean go?" Rachel looked worried.

"You mean go back on the run?" Ava questioned.

Then there was loyal Will. "I can be ready to leave in 30." He never questions me, never doubts me.

Will stands beside me as I turn to the girls. "My gut is telling me something is wrong. I feel like it's no longer safe here."

"I would have seen if someone was coming." Ava could see the future. Well, most of the time anyway.

"I know, but I'm telling you something is off and I don't want to be around to find out what it is." Just as I finish my sentence there is a knock on the door. "Who is it?"

"It's just me." I hear Tony say through the door.

Will looks at me as if he's waiting for my approval to open the door. I nod my head and he opens the door for Tony. He walked in wearing an apologetic look on his face. And I gave him a questioning stare. "There's someone I think you should meet."

"And who might that be?" Will took the snarky words right out of my mouth. I still shot him a look though. I didn't need anyone to fight my battles. He lowered his head in apology.

I turned my attention back to Tony. And he said, "Don't run." That line put me on edge and I could feel the girls start to squirm behind me. Will just stood at my side, waiting for my response.

"What did you do Tony?" I questioned.

"You don't understand. I had to call them." Those words were the only ones I needed to hear. I grabbed my bag and started to walk past him. He grabbed my arm, but I maneuvered it out of his grasp. Will growled and this time I shot him a look to remind him I wasn't his. "Please. Let me explain. "

I looked in Tony's eyes and could tell he truly meant no harm. It was hard to say why, but I always trusted Tony. "Fine. Explain then." Tony opened his mouth and then closed it. "Well?"

"Please can you just trust me that I won't let anything happen to you?"

"Who did you call Tony?"

Tony looked at the ground and said, "All of them."

"All of who?"

"All of the alphas."
