Kim

　　"Oh no!" I yelled as soon as I opened my eyes and saw the wall clock!

　　8 am and I'm still at home!

　　"Shit!" I cursed again as I hurriedly wore my room slippers and ran into the bathroom.

　　I took a quick bath. I dashed back into the room few minutes later and ran to my closet, searching out my outfit for the day!

　　A quick introduction?

　　I'm Kim Na Na and I'm twenty two currently in my second year at the University.

　　Well...my mom's American and my dad is Korean and they both live in Seoul,Korea but guess?

　　I don't live with them...I never did!

　　Strange, I right?

　　Ever since I was born,I've never been allowed to pay them a visit at all.

　　They do the visiting whenever I complain a lot and it's beginning to freak me out!

　　I'm an only child but that doesn't make me spoilt but hey .....I can be crazy sometimes when you get on my nerves!

　　They say I'm a curious type...am I?

　　Well....still tryna figure out if it's actually true.

　　And I'm beautiful...yeah...I am.

　　I'm kind of blond with a dark green eyes.

　　And no boyfriend.

　　Well,I've kind of dated someone in the past but he broke my heart.

　　To me...love sucks!

　　"Kim!! Are you still in there!" Aunt Vera yelled outside the door and I rolled my eyes as I pulled on my denim jacket.

　　"Almost true." I yelled back.

　　Aunt Vera is mom's kid sister.

　　And I love her so much.

　　And her daughters.

　　I ran out of my room carrying my bag and found myself the next minute at the dinning.

　　Courtney,the same age as me and her younger sister... who's two years younger were already consuming their breakfast.

　　I quickly settled down and served myself.

　　"You woke up late again,Kim. Are you sure you aren't seeing someone?" Courtney accused and I shook my head.

　　"Had a busy day yesterday." I replied and continued eating.

　　Soon,we were done and got out of the house all at once.

　　We got into Courtney's car and drove straight to school.

　　I was studying medicine just to become an adorable doctor.

　　Well,we got to school in due time and headed straight to class.

　　I sat on my bed, dialing mom's line again.

　　Just finished changing my clothes after shower.

　　I've gotten back from school all alone without my cousins cos they had to attend a friend's party.

　　Unfortunately,I don't like parties so I just headed home and found it empty.

　　Great. Aunt Vera had gone out too.

　　It's been six months...six whole months I saw my parents last and I'm so much missing them.

　　I'm not allowed to visit,to make matters worst.

　　Mom finally picked up after what seemed like eternity.

　　"Mom!" I cried.

　　"Oh my baby girl is here!" Mom laughed happily and I sighed.

　　"How are you doing baby?" Mom asked from the other line and I shrugged.

　　"Fine,I guess?"

　　"Oh come on. Don't give me that tone,okay? Don't worry at all. Dad and I are gonna come over next weekend." Mom said.

　　"Not even this weekend!" I yelled.

　　"Sweetie..you know how busy your daddy can be."

　　"But you can come over without him!"

　　"He's not gonna welcome the idea of me travelling alone."

　　"Okay then....can I come over...?"

　　"No!" Mom snapped immediately from the other line.

　　I sighed. Not again.

　　Am I even their child at all? What the hell is wrong?

　　"But why mom? Don't you guys love me?"

　　"Oh no baby! Please don't say that...

　　We are only trying to protect you..."

　　Mom stopped talking immediately like she made a mistake saying that.

　　"Protect me? Mom? Hello!" I said hurriedly.

　　"We are gonna come over by next weekend,Kim. Okay? I promise." And with that she cut the call, leaving me so dumbfounded.

　　Protecting me?

　　I scoffed, staring down at my phone.

　　Protecting me from what exactly?

　　Now....I'm really so curious!!

　　The door opened and Courtney walked in.

　　We grew up as sisters and always got each other's back.

　　"Who was that?" She asked.

　　"Mom. I was speaking with her." I said,still in a daze.

　　"You look troubled." Courtney commented and i forced a smile.

　　"I'm fine." I replied, putting away my phone.

　　I couldn't stop thinking about what mom had said.

　　What really are they protecting me from,hun?

　　"Well....guess who I saw at the party few hours ago?" Courtney suddenly asked.

　　That got my attention and I looked at her. "Who?"

　　"Marcus." Courtney said with a smile and my eyes widened.

　　That's my ex boyfriend from two years ago.

　　"Who the hell invited the jerk? Thank goodness I didn't go. I might just end up slapping him!" I voiced out and Courtney laughed.

　　"Oh come on! Don't tell me you are still angry with the cute guy. What happened is already two years ago!" Courtney said and I rolled my eyes.

　　"Well...it still seems like it happened yesterday. That imp..." I cursed.

　　"He asked after and he looked disappointed he didn't get to meet you. I think he's still crazy about you,sis." Courtney said and I frowned at her.

　　"Let him go to hell." I replied.

　　"Okay okay! Enough of the discussion. I'm starving. What do you want for dinner?"

　　"Hmm. Maybe oatmeal cookies will do the job.

　　No really so hungry." I replied as Courtney jumped down the bed and headed out.

　　I fell back to thinking again.

　　What mom said...

　　Protecting me from something? Or someone?

　　So curious right now.

　　There's only one way to find out what it is.

　　Disobeying them and visit them.

　　Yes. Whatever the outcome...I'm just gonna face it!
