Aliya Brynn was woken up by the grumbling noises of her pack members outside their door. At first she thought she was dreaming until a stone came flying through her bedroom window. It almost hit her were it not for her cat like reflexes. Her wolf released a low growl her iris glowing peach orange. Still in her pajamas she walked to her father's room pumped with rage.

"Dad?" She called knocking on his door, "open up what's happening?"

Her father quickly came from downstairs. He looked worried and confused.

"What's going on dad? A stone just came flying through my window and what's that noise at the door?"

"Listen to me kiddo, you it's just you and I" he said.

Meanwhile the crowd outside was trying so hard to force themselves inside. They were shaking the door, others were threatening to raze down the house making Aliya even more confused.

"Yes dad what's happening? Why do you look worried did we do something wrong?"

Alfred dragged her back to her room.

"No you didn't, I want you to pack what you can and leave through the bunker, go as far as you can and don't look back, don't trust anyone" he said when they got to the door.

"Not going anywhere without you dad if it's fighting we can take them and you can explain whatever is going on later"

"Listen to me!" Alfred snarled.

He had never been so mad at her like that. The last time he was that mad was back in high school when she morphed in school to scare away bullies since she couldn't beat them in human form for fear of exposing her powers.

"Am being fixed for something I didn't do and those who are fixing me won't stop at anything. I can't let them have you, your mother will never forgive me so leave! We don't have time any minute from now a pack of angry warrior wolves will walk in here and I want you gone" he said and walked away.

It hurt to day those words to her. Every last of them. They crushed his soul but it was the only way to keep her safe. His only child and the two had survived on their own since her mother died while defending the same pack that had turned against him. He had never thought they were going to be separated. Unwillingly, Aliya started packing while Alfred braced for an invasion. When she was done she walked downstairs to see her father one last time. He looked at her and smiled sadly, the spark in his eyes was lively.

"Go!" He said and opened the door.

The warrior wolves led by his best friend Clyde barged in with guns. Loaded with silver rounds.

"I see he managed to get to you" Alfred said before they forced him on the ground and tied his hands behind his back with enchanted chains.

"Shut up Alfred, Find the girl she is somewhere here" Clyde said looking upstairs.

A couple of guards ran upstairs.

"You know I didn't do this right?" Alfred said with a boot on his face.

"I don't know what you are anymore friend"

"Come on Clyde we both know am being fixed here"

The guards came back empty handed. He smiled through his pain. She was a smart girl. And her obedience had finally saved her.

"We looked everywhere no sign of her" one guard said.

"Where is she Alfred don't make this harder than it already is"

"Am the culprit here am I?"

"He just wants to explain to her why this is happening to you but am sure you've fed her lies already"

"And you believed him?"

"Yes get him out of here!" Clyde ordered.

The guards hoisted him up like a feather and dragged him outside where an angry mob was waiting for him. Those who pitied him has kept their distance lest they be branded as traitors also. Alfred already knew what he was being accused of. Every civilization has its rules and the Red Crescent pack had a very strict rule about killing one of their own.

"Traitor!" One person started the chant as they escorted him to the Alpha's house.

Located in the middle of the compound, directly opposite the entrance with a tarmac lane. On the right from the entrance was the betas house then the omegas on the left. The alpha's brothers and immediate family occupied the other spots making it a circular block of houses with a large crescent statue in the middle of a fountain and flowers. The guards at the gate controlled the angry mob they were left complaining outside the gate as Alfred was getting escorted to meet Alpha Carson.

"And where is his daughter?" Carson asked angrily meeting them at the door, his giant figure and raspy voice send shivers down their spines.

Masculine, soot black hair, greyish brown iris, a tattoo of the crescent moon under his right eye, rigid nose bridge with circular nostrils, big arms broad chest covered by a grey T-shirt. Baggy blue bitch shorts from which two firm hairy legs protruded. His two feet were resting on a black sandals. He evoked fear even when he was calm and his presence sucked all the air around those he surrounded forcing them to hold their breaths.

"We couldn't find her" Clyde said in a low tone.

"What do you mean you couldn't find her? How can you get played by a teenager?"

"She is twenty one" Alfred said.

Carson glared at him then send a right on his jaw, Alfred dripped on the ground with a thud like a bag of sand. He spit some blood severing his jaw silently.

"You only talk when I say so" Carson said giving his attention to the guards, "take the beta with you find her or don't show your miserable faces around here again" he ordered and went back inside.

Clyde dragged him along. He kicked him in the belly sending him sprawling in the middle of the circle. Surrounding it were the elders, seated on their wooden chairs coated with gold. Carson's chair was the largest and one had to go up a couple of steps. Behind his chair was another sculpture of the crescent. The entire room was painted grey with a white ceiling no windows, a bulb in the middle of the room provided light. It was rue equivalent of a parliament.

"Tell this panel where you daughter is and we might have both your lives traitor!" Carson said seating down on his chair with his arms spread on the armrest. The tips of the armrest were also wooden and sculptured into lion heads.

"We all know this panel is useless, am guilty as charged so let's drop the formalities shall we?"

"Silence!" Carson shouted his iris glowing a faint red.

Alfred zipped it. But his argument held some water. What he was accused of was among the few things he never thought of doing even under the toughest of circumstances not to mention the wolf he was being accused of killing was his best friend. Together they had won many wars for the pack, they had sacrificed a lot for the pack to be safe.

"Let him speak!" One of the elder werewolves said.

There was a glimmer of hope for Alfred although he knew to what lengths Carson would go to neutralize anyone he considered a threat. If he knew him so well Carson had already reached out to half the panel and they were automatically going to take his side. But one elder fighting for his right to be heard came as a surprise to him. No way had he seen that one coming and it gave him a glimmer of hope.

"Thank you sir, Am being fixed here I did not kill glen. We have been friends for a long time, I went to check on him this morning and I found him dead…"

"Why did you ran?" Clyde interrupted.

The elder who seemed to be on Alfred's side glared at him. Clyde bowed in respect and kept quiet.

"I was scared okay, I thought maybe we were being attacked and ran outside when I met the guards. I outran them"

"Why didn't you tell them?"

"Because they wanted to arrest me without getting to know it side of the story, I mean that is obvious right? It can't be a coincidence I find my friend murdered and the guards are there to arrest me in less than a minute?"

The panel went silent. They looked like they were really thinking about his argument an how obnoxious it was that moments after murdering his friend the guards were there to arrest him.

"Is that all?" The elder finally asked.

"Yes" Alfred said exhaustively.

"My elder’s permission to speak" Carson said getting on his feet, "Alfred here has been planning a revolution to overthrow me…"

"My elders" Alfred interrupted.

"Silence!" The elder who seemed to take Alfred's side shouted angrily.

Tables had turned. It was getting to where it started, back when Alfred had no one by his side.

"You know the rules of the pack, you all know the consequences of trying to overthrow a seating Alpha, after all my elders," He paused to look at all of them with his hands behind his back, he had a suck smile on his face when his gaze met Alfred's, "you made them" he dropped the cliffhanger and took his seat.

"Do you have any evidence?" The eldest of the panel asked.

"Of course my elders" He said staring at Clyde.

He vowed and walked outside. Curiosity was getting to Alfred's nerves. Who could testify against him? Knowing Carson so well he already had witnesses.

"What is he going to bring?" The elder asked.

"A witness my elders"

When Alfred saw Glen's wife walking in his heart skipped a beat. His fate was sealed. They were going to believe every word she was going to say and she didn't have to be blackmailed to tell the lie. Sandra had made it clear she didn't like Alfred every time he visited. But Alfred had other worries. Could it be that she was involved in the murder?

"My elders, Glen's wife" Carson introduced.

"Do you have something to tell this panel Mrs. Woods?" The head elder asked.

"Yes" she said looking sad, her heartbeat was steady.

Sandra looked sad as expected, one thing however sold her out. The fear in her eyes, the look of sympathy she was giving Alfred. Right there he realized there was a lot at stake. She was being threatened probably they had her daughter or someone and since he couldn't protect his friend he decided he was going to play along with what she was going to say to save his friends family.

"Do you swear to tell the truth" Alpha Carson asked.

"I swear on my daughter's…" She sobbed, "I will tell the truth"

The elder nodded to sanction her to continue.

"Before he died Glen had an argument with Alfred here. I overhead them talking about Alpha Carson not being fair and letting his wife get killed without avenging her.."

"Where were you when Glen was being killed?"

"Asleep, this pack is the safest place on earth that's why our enemies attack us from outside besides we slept tired the last night"

She was right on that one.

"Did Glen tell you anything else?"

"Yes" she said looking at Alfred, he just exhaled sharply, "Alfred was trying to overthrow the Alpha and Glen was against it I think it might have led to the disagreement"

"Alfred…"

"Please don't harm my daughter, it's all on me am the one you want" he begged.

"Where is she? For years we've stayed in peace because we have kept our entire existence a secret, now your daughter is out there all alone. Chances are she might get captured by the humans" the lead elder paused to let it sink in, "And lead them right in front of our doorstep"

"What our able elder is trying to say is, besides leading a rebellion to unseat an Alpha you have disgraced this pack and there are consequences" The elder who seemed to be on his side said

Of course there were consequences.
