My hands are shaking and my palms are sweating. I'm shivering.

I inhaled and exhaled once again and held my shoulders.

I can do this. I should do this.

I let out a sigh as I sat. I could feel the burning stares and the small murmurs.

I immediately pressed the white and black keys I've been gazing for fifteen years.

Notes into chords, chords into pieces and pieces into a song. I played and played the rhythm into my mind.

  I never missed a note.

  Still, I'm drowning.

I hit one last key and exhaled as the fear went away.

  Finally...

  Everyone applauded as I bowed.

  But I never felt accepted.

I gave a small smile as I left the stage.

"I'm so proud of you," Daddy said as he hugged me tightly.

I bit my lip and returned the hug.

  Why can't I feel it?

"Rehearse more and enough with your stage fear. Prepare for the Olympic Regional Sports Contest. You should ace it up. Aim for gold. Don't lose track in your class too. I'm expecting a lot from you. You are the heir. You are..." he stated and looked at me for the last sentence.

"Seana Caldwell. And Caldwell's are the definition of success, power and perfection," I continued.

He smiled and kissed the top of my head.

"That's my daughter. I bought you a telescope. I told Chip to take you home tonight. Goodnight," he said and left immediately.

I sighed as I felt the water pooling my eyes.

I immediately looked up to prevent my tears.

No way i'm going to let anyone see me in my most vulnerable state.

"Why are you crying at such an overwhelming performance?" a voice suddenly spoke out.

I immediately searched for the person who spoke.

He was leaning at the wooden post with a sly smile on his face. Acting like it's funny to see someone prevent a cry. He slowly walked until he was in front of me. Holding out a handkerchief.

"It's yours to keep," he stated firmly, not even asking for my opinion if I wanted it.

"No thanks, I have a lot to keep. I don't need another one," I said and fought another stare.

He stared back at me before backing down.

He raised his hands and lightly chuckled.

"All right, all right. If you say so."

He turned his back and walked into the direction of the exit.

I turned my back too but froze the moment he spoke.

"By the way, you look lovely tonight."

I bit my lip and clenched my fist.

After a few seconds, I decided to walk away, took my stuff and left the place. I held my chest and tried to breathe. Trying to hold my composure.

  What is happening with me?

Little did I know, it was his first lie.

  But oh well, sweet lies.
