Glory Hotel was the finest hotel in Creuledo.

It was furnished with crystal and gold decorations everywhere. Clare entered the lobby and was immediately blinded by the dazzling golden light. Ruby led Clare into the elevator and pressed the button to the Presidential Suite on the top floor.

The atmosphere in the elevator was uncomfortably awkward. Ruby lowered her voice and said, "I came here to provide you some advice, Ms. Burch."

"Me?"

"Yes." Ruby gave her an iconic smile.

"Mr. Baxter has a bad temperament. So, there are a few things that I must explain."

Clare respectfully nodded, looking prepared to hear what she had to say.

Ruby continued, "First of all, no matter how harsh Mr. Baxter's words are, you can't refute them. Secondly, you need to wash up using the shower gel I prepared before Mr. Baxter arrives. Thirdly, you need to tie up your hair to demonstrate innocence. Apart from these three points, most importantly, you must be gentle."

After listening to Ruby's words, Clare lowered her gaze and took a moment to respond. She raised her head and smiled. "Thank you for the reminder. I will keep them in mind."

It was such a perverted request! Declan must be one of those guys with a weird fetish!

Ruby smiled brightly. She was obviously relieved. "I'm relieved to hear that you'll remember my instructions. Ms. Burch, I hope you enjoy your night. Goodbye."

"Wait a minute." Clare stopped Ruby. "If I succeed, when will Mr. Baxter fulfil what he promised me?"

Ruby smiled politely. "In my opinion, Ms. Burch, you should worry about whether you can accomplish this task instead. Mr. Baxter is not someone you can negotiate with."

"Well, tell your chairman to not look down on me. I can easily handle a menial task like this."

Ruby nodded and turned to leave, leaving Clare alone. She was able to put on a brave front just now, but now that her surroundings fell into a deep silence, she realized that she was not confident at all.

Clare was unwilling to take this path.

However, her father's company had suffered losses for several years straight. They had roughly 10 billion dollars of debt. If he could not gather enough money to pay it off soon, their family would go bankrupt. However, to their surprise, the old chairman of one of the top hundred global enterprises, Baxter Group, contacted them and made a bizarre request. He wanted to find a surrogate mother for his son. After it was done, he would give them five percent of Baxter Group's shares. Although it didn't sound like much, it was worth ten billion dollars at least!

Originally, the person who should be here to accompany Declan was her beloved sister, Isabel. When Mr. Baxter first saw the photos of the two sisters, he chose Isabel, who looked graceful and lovely.

But Isabel was the favoured and precious child of the family. She would inherit the family business in the future and marry a husband who would love her for a lifetime. There was no way they would allow her to do such a shameful thing. Moreover, the scion of Baxter Group was an infamous playboy.

The atmosphere in the house became extremely awkward. Everyone gave Clare an expectant look, but no one dared to ask her. Clare was also their daughter and they were caught between a rock and a hard place. But when Clare stood up and volunteered herself, her parents and elder sister let out a sigh of relief. From that moment, Clare knew she had been abandoned by the family. For the sake of this crumbling family, Clare sacrificed her insignificant self.

Clare looked at her watch. It was almost ten in the evening.

Ruby mentioned that Declan would return to the hotel at eleven, which meant that she had roughly an hour to prepare.

Clare hurriedly grabbed the clothes that Ruby had prepared for her and went into the bathroom to wash up. After washing up, she looked into the mirror and realized that a change in style also changed her overall demeanor.

It was a maroon American style school uniform. Clare's skin was fair, and the clothes made her looked innocent and beautiful.

She suddenly remembered that Ruby ordered her to tie her hair, so she immediately did it.

The girl in the mirror had no heavy and exquisite makeup on her face, but her skin was naturally fair. Her thick and curly eyelashes paired with her bright clear eyes made her look particularly vibrant and lively.

"Damn, who knew Declan had a thing for girls who look refreshingly innocent? How could he even make a move on anyone so tender-looking?" she thought.

Time trickled by. When Clare exited the bathroom, she saw someone sitting on the dark purple coloured sofa not far away.

He has a slender figure and looked arrogant.

Clare was absolutely sure that the person she saw before her eyes was not Ruby, but Declan Baxter!

He arrived slightly earlier than Clare had expected. It was good because Clare did not have to waste her time waiting.

The blurry figure in the dark did not move. It appeared that he was not surprised to see a stranger in his room.

Clare walked over and said with a delicate voice, "Mr. Baxter, aren't you curious why I appeared in your room?"

Declan's long legs were crossed, and he was leaning lazily on the sofa. His palm was placed on his chin, and he was facing her. When he saw her coming out from the bathroom, he smiled.

The top two buttons of his white shirt were unbuttoned, revealing his muscular chest. He looked very elegant yet not honourable.

When Clare walked out in this attire, a hint of gloominess flashed across Declan's eyes, but he quickly suppressed it.

His deep blue eyes were like the dazzling stars in the night sky outside the window. It appeared that Clare's appearance did not cause his emotions to fluctuate.

Clare gritted her teeth. She stood there barefooted for almost a minute, but Declan only sized her up indifferently without any intention of touching her.

Regardless of how clueless Clare was, she strongly felt Declan's disgust. From his gaze to his actions, there was no doubt that he disliked her.

Clare felt nervous. If Declan refused to establish a relationship with her, she would not be able to complete the task and would not get the money they promised to give.

She had always been a conservative person, but in this situation, she had to take the initiative.

"Mr. Baxter, did I made you wait too long? Should I take the initiative?"

Before Clare could finish her words, Declan waved his hand and impatiently interrupted her. "I don't want to listen to your nonsense."

His voice sounded like the chilling frost of late winter. It was cold and could easily pierce a person's heart.

It was Clare's first time being so proactive, but she was interrupted impatiently. Her face was flushed with embarrassment, and she felt her face burning up.

Declan looked at her indifferently and sized her up without any reservations. "Let me ask you, how much did the old man give you?"
