Miss Jo interrupted our class discussion with a phone call. She is the manager of my freelancing modeling agency. I was in a panic and hid my phone under my desk. I'm not sure how I'm going to respond to this 'call.' I declined the phone call, but it kept ringing. I haven't answered the phone yet, but I'm sure I will be hearing from her. Miss Jo probably gets irritated with me because I haven't arrived at the studio yet. I couldn't keep up with our professor because he was walking backward. My classmate raised his hand and asked my professor to simply distract him. He winked at me. Because of what he did, I muttered, "Thank you." I took advantage of the opportunity to text Miss Jo to say I was on my way, despite the fact that it was only five minutes before dismissal.

"How about you, Miss Frey? What do you think about our economic growth?"

"Sir?" In a surprise, I inquired.

When our professor called me, I was nervous. To my surprise, I let go of the cell phone I was holding, and I was fortunate that it landed on top of my shoes. I didn't stand up and just replied to the Professor. Good thing that I'm smart, I don't have a hard time answering the questions that are thrown at me, but the nervousness always creeps me out.

"All right, Good!"

As the class continued, I took a deep breath and quickly exited the campus. It took me a while because I didn't know the entire area very well. I can't remember which gate I went through earlier.

“Hey! Do you have a companion? Can I go with you?” He scratched his nape. As he asked, he seemed to be gasping for air. Is he after me?'

“Uh, yes. ” I'm going home. ” I walked quickly and didn't pay much attention to him. He followed me even though I was ahead of him. I dislike wasting time, especially in simple conversations.

“You walk too quickly; I can't keep up.” He uttered once more. I simply kept walking. I found myself wanting to slap him with the book I was holding. I suddenly realized he was the one who had winked at me earlier, so I came to a halt.

“Wait? You were the one a while ago? , weren't you? Sorry I didn't notice. Thanks by the way., ”

"I thought you didn't remember," He smiled. "By the way, I'm Vince." He held out his palm and I reached for it to shake hands.

"Audrey," I replied sparingly.

When I got to the waiting shed. I'm bothered because my cellphone shut down. All I could think about was whether I would ever make it to the studio or if I would lose my job. Vince was calmly waiting for a ride with me. He was just watching me and I think he was even wondering.

"You've been walking there for a while," he stated. I just ignored him. I wanted to ask if I could borrow a cellphone, but that's where my pride is. It's not my thing to approach a stranger for assistance. Vince and I aren't close, so he's unlikely to lend me.

"Shit!" It's raining. Vince looked at me and laughed at our current situation.

"Just come with us, Someone will fetch me."

"No thanks," I wrapped my arms around my body because of the cold.

In less than a few minutes, I saw the black car approaching us. Maybe this is what Vince waited for.

“There he is. Let's go?" He then looks at me, asking me to come with him.

I was still hesitant at first if I would go with Vince. I don't know him very well, maybe where he will take me like the ones I see on the news. I shook my head to say that I would not go, but it seemed that the rain didn't stop and the downpour intensified. Vince's black car honked and I almost jumped from where I was standing.

"There's no car now Audrey, will you come or not?" Vince asks again.

He was still standing and hadn't gotten into the car yet so maybe it blew the horn because the driver was waiting for Vince. My later work suddenly came to my mind. I only have a little time. I had to reach the studio because not only did I have to change clothes but also put make-up on my face. And if there's anything worse there, Miss Jo might replace me.

Vince allowed me to get into the car first. My uniform was drenched, as was the book I was carrying. I moved to the side of the car so Vince could sit next to me, but he turned around in front of the car. Perhaps he will sit next to his Driver while I remain silent in the back.

"You're running late." As he sat down, Vince told the driver. His uniform was also soaking wet.

When I looked in the rearview mirror, I noticed the man in the black face mask. He was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt. I can't get a good look at his entire face. I became nervous all of a sudden. I wish this car wasn't going to turn into the alley like I thought it would.

"I went someplace." Vince received a sparse response from the driver. His voice didn't sound as old as I had assumed. His voice was deep, and his demeanor was solemn. I was trying to figure out if it was Vince's driver or his older brother.

“Audrey, are you alright there? ” Where are you going? ” Vince asked.

"It's just across the street from Cantaloupe."

"You have a girlfriend right away on the first day of school." I overheard the man whispering. He simply stares straight ahead.

"Silly. That's just my classmate." Vince burst out laughing.

I didn't realize that I had fallen asleep. I just woke up when the car pulled up. I just need to get off. I even rummaged in my bag to find the wallet to pay Vince for delivering it to me.

"Here, Thanks for the ride." I handed the fair to Vince but he didn't take it, he just smiled at me.

"You're not in the taxi," he said. "I told you you look like a driver. " He laughed and looked like he was teasing the man next to him but there seemed to be no reaction at all, looking bored. I think he's waiting for me to get off. I just thanked Vince and hurried out of the car. The rain has also subsided.

I wiped my face in annoyance when I realized that I was not carrying my three books. Maybe the next day it won’t be in the car I had seated. I was about to chase Vince's car, unfortunately, they were too far away. I was indignant. It doesn't matter if I lost one but not what Sarah has lent me. I'm sure she'll be upset.
