Caroline's P.O.V 

This is such a sweet dream. Is that my mom who's smiling at me? and is that my dad standing beside her? and I am in the middle smiling so happily in the middle. I am so happy they both are laughing. Mom, Dad I love you both I am happy to be born. 

'' But we didn't want you to be born to us. Why did I give birth to a girl like you? I wish you had died during your birth ''. '' I didn't want you to be born. Why did you have to come into our life?

'' You should just die ''. '' What are you saying Dad? what are you saying Mom? you don't want me in your life? but I am your daughter. Please accept me don't abandon me just because I am useless. 

'' Don't leave me ''. 

The alarm clock was ringing and it fell onto the floor when I opened my eyes. I was sweating furiously. My clothes were wet with sweat. I had the same dream again. Why can't I forget about them? I need to get over the fact that they aren't with me now. 

I looked at the clock to find that it was already 8 A.M. and I am still in my bed. '' Oh s***, don't I have office today? and it's only my first day ''. I quickly got off the bed and somehow got out of the house all dressed up. 

'' I forgot to eat, That can wait until later. I can't show up late in my new office. It's all because I was up all night unpacking things yesterday. But they are not gonna listen to this excuse will they? '' she sighs as she walks past the busy crowd who seemed to be in quite a hurry. 

It's not their fault it's the daily life of the people here in Los Angels. Then she sights the bus leaving for her office. '' I need to catch it or else it will be late '' she thoughts and starts running. Everyone looks at her weirdly when she does that in front of the crowd. 

But before she could reach the bus the bus leaves right in front of her eyes in a blink. '' Wait- hey, you can't do this man'' she shouts. As the crowd eyes her like some strange creature. 

'' What? '' she asks looking at their faces. They walk away from there and do what they were doing. '' Guess I will have to go on foot only '' she stares at the clock it's past 8:40. 

'' Prepare yourself an excuse while walking '' she murmurs while walking her way towards the office. ''  How can a girl of Twenty be late for her first day at a new office? isn't that weird? oh, wait I am the weird one. I should start waking up according to the time normal people wake up ''. 

'' But it's not my fault, I try to sleep at a normal time but I just can't find myself falling asleep at the normal time. It's not my fault, is it? it's the society's fault it's the world's fault and not mine ''. 

'' What's wrong with that woman? eyeing me like she saw a weirdo? ''. '' I need to learn how to ignore these people nowadays. Oh gosh, look at the time it's past 8:50. I hope they don't drive me out of the office on the first day. I should run a marathon to the office. That's probably for the best ''. 

End of the P.O.V.

She takes a deep breath and starts running towards the office ignoring the eyes of the people passing by. When she arrives at the office it's 9:00 a.m. In front of the office building the guards eye her like some weird freak. 

She was all sweaty now. Ignoring the guards she went inside. It was a big building with top floors. She went up to the fifteenth floor of the building. When the elevator doors opened it was empty. 

Then she waits in the elevator only for a while. Soon she was on the floor she was going for. But when the doors opened she was in a hurry so she bumped into someone. They both fell onto the floor with a bang. 

'' Ouch, will you lookout where you are going? I am late no because of you. Oh god why do these things always happen to me? '' she mutters without looking at the person she bumped into. 

'' I can't believe that you are talking back at me. When you are the one who bumped into me '' retorts the other sharply. '' Is that so? I am sorry to say but you are the one who bumped into me '' remarks Caroline looking up to see a handsome man before her eyes. 

He had shiny blond hair some strands were falling onto his face which made him look sexier than ever. With big eyelashes, his big and protruding clover green eyes suited him perfectly making him the most handsome creature on earth. 

He had a small nose with small lips. He was shaven neatly. His pale skin was suiting the royal blue suit that he was wearing. '' Looks so expensive '' she thoughts. '' So I am the one who bumped into you?'' he retorts with narrowed eyes. 

'' Ah.. yes you did ''. '' Then tell me what are you doing in such a hurry at this time? this is not the time to come into the office is it ?''. She could not speak up to that. She looks downwards with her fists clutching onto her white skirt that she was wearing with her legs folded.

'' I can come whenever I want to it's my wish. Now I am late excuse me '' she gets up and leaves without letting him say another word to her. 

'' Wait- she left? like that? I can't accept this no matter what '' he thoughts getting up. While dragging her feet she reached the department where she should be working under. '' I need to be brave and go in without thinking. Yes just do it ''. 

She went inside without thinking only to attract others' attention even more than ever. The staff there looked at them weirdly when she went inside. Her feet stuck to the ground when she saw the eyes of the people looking at her. 

'' Look at the time and she came in now? is she taking the job seriously ?'' whispers another one behind her. '' What's wrong with me>?move my feet, will you? I can't stand here any longer. I need to go to my seat and start working. But I feel so pressured what should I do ?''. 

'' Hey move from the entrance, will you? I can't work like this move '' shouts another woman behind her. One of the staff a woman comes up to her and says '' Come with me, you must be the new one right? I will show you to your seat ''. 

Caroline nodded silently in reply. That woman took her to her seat. '' You must be nervous as it's your first day, don't worry you will get used to this everyone is like that at first. I am your senior here if there's anything you want to know come ask me ''' said the woman patting her back. 

'' Thanks,'' she said trying to force on a smile. '' It's my pleasure to help you. My name is Emma what's yours? ''. '' I am Caroline Reeds nice to meet you ''. '' Glad someone is nice here ''. 

'' Good nice to meet you now start working the New CEO of our company is coming here inspection. You need to behave well before him alright? ''. '' Alright, I will keep my mouth shut ''. '' You better he's known to have a bad temper you'd better not make him mad '''.

Her face went pale while she said that. '' Don't worry I met so many people in my life they will be a hundred timeless scarier than the CEO. He will be a lot easier to handle than others I assure you '' Caroline said with her head held high. 

'' You are quite funny you know? ''' chuckled the woman. '' Am I ? guess I am. Anyway, get back to work now I should also start mine ''. '' Yes call me if you need any help '' said Emma. '' Okay Emma ''. 

She went away from Caroline then. '' I need to be careful not to disturb her too much '' she was trying to concentrate on the work before her. All of a sudden someone came in. It was a man wearing a black suit. 

It looked like some bodyguard. Caroline didn't bother to look that way instead she was doing her work. Then enters another man from all the staff inside stands up seeing him. Only except for Caroline. 

'' Caroline gets up '' called a whisper from behind She looks behind to see Emma behind her telling her something. '' What is it ?'' she asked. '' What? I can't hear you? '' Caroline was trying to understand what she was telling her. 

Someone coughs before her. It was a man. Caroline looks up to see the same man she met earlier standing before her eyes. His hands were fixed in his pockets. Caroline was surprised to see him again. Her legs were starting to freeze up there. 

'' What's wrong Boss? why are you standing near her seat? '' asked the man beside him who looked like the senior here. '' There's something that's making me curious about this young lady. What's her name? '' asked the man with his eyes fixed on hers. 

'' I don't know she must be the newbie what's your name?'' asked the other man. '' C-Caroline Reed '' murmured her softly. '' Caroline huh? Would you mind coming to my office? there's something I want to ask you '' said the man with a smile. 

'' But I...''. '' Caroline stop talking and do what the boss says. He's the CEO here after all. You have to listen to him '' remarks the other man beside him. She had no choice but to listen to him. '' So this guy is the new CEO? I can't believe it'' she thoughts. 

'' Now come to my office in five minutes got it ?'' remarks the man. '' Alright '' replied Caroline looking downwards, The man turned up and left the room. Everyone sighs seeing that. 

Emma runs up to Caroline with a panic-stricken face. '' What's wrong Caroline? what does the CEO want with you? did you do something wrong to him? or what? ''. ''' Well... actually...I... what should I even tell her? if I tell her about what I did to him earlier then her impression of mine will surely drop. I can't tell her about it ''. 

'' Answer Caroline ? '' she asked again. '' It's nothing, I did nothing maybe there's something he wants to discuss the work with me. I don't know ''. '' You sure about it ?''. '' Of course, now go back to work I will have to go to his office now. Do you know where it is ?''. 

'' Yes I know I will take you to him come with me '' said Emma happily. '' I don't want to go there though but there's no choice. I did what is to be done '' thought Caroline with a sigh. 

'' What's wrong come Caroline ' called Emma heading towards the CEO's office. ''Come wait for me ''. '' I wonder what's waiting for me inside the office. I hope he doesn't kick me out of here on the first day for behaving rudely with me '' she prays in her heart. 

Emma was showing her around the office and Caroline was looking quite pale as she was thinking about the consequences of what she had done earlier. '' I won't behave rudely with anyone ever again but don't kick me out of the office this is my first job here ''. 

'' How will I be able to keep my life going like this? I need to keep this job no matter what '' while thinking about it she reached the CEO's office which was in the left wing with Emma. 

'' Now go '' Emma said to Caroline. '' We reached already? ''. '' Of course, now go and tell me later about it. Good luck '' said Emma with a smile she pushed her towards the door and left from there. 

Caroline was thinking about whether she should go in or not. '' Hurry up and make up your mind '' she reminds. '' What are you doing? come in already '' shouts a voice from within the room. She was surprised by this.
