1. The Leader

The day that I was handed over to the vampire king, started with me calm and prepared to kick ass.

The sound of doors shutting and whispers fills the air as I run outside. My breath floats in the air for a moment before disappearing in a cloud of white wisp.

My group of warriors line up before me, bow and nod in acknowledgment which I return as I lead them towards the vampires.

“Ready Faith?” My best friend, Justin questions with a small smile as he leads his own group of warriors.

“Yup, we are strong. The top pack in Canada, so no need to look so excited about this Tiny,” I laugh as he glares at me and pushes me playfully.

“You never know, vampires are tough creatures,” I give him a look and he rolls his eyes at me. “I know your dad said we aren’t going there to fight just to sort out a complication or something, but doesn’t mean they will listen.”

I sigh, and hug my best friend quickly before we walk in comfortable silence for 3 hours.

As we near Future Valley, separating the werewolf and vampire territory in Alberta, the pack warriors shift and shake out their thick coats.

Suddenly the air changes. The other side of the valley is now lined with people.

A small gasp leaves Justin’s lips as more of the vampires suddenly appear.

They look like humans except they are more beautiful and captivating.

Their hair is so silky, eyes bright, skin pale and soft and their bodies are all fit and muscle.

The girls look like models and the guys are, well they are just hot.

The shuffling of my pack warriors breaks me out of my trance as my father steps in front of his pack as does the leader of the vampires.

The leader is even more stunning then his clan.

His dark brown hair looks so soft in it’s tousled state, his eyes are a mixture of hazel and gold, and his body is lean and muscular.

“It is a pleasure to meet up with you Alpha,” his voice is smooth like velvet, as he address my father politely.

“The pleasure is all mine, so as you know there has been some disagreements between your group and mine.” My father states and the vampire nods slowly.

“Yes, that has come to my attention. You’re kind have been coming onto my land for a while now and been attacking my clan. I was happy to overlook it a couple of times, but now it is upsetting my group and things will have to be sorted,” he explained his voice firm, but calm.

“Hmmm I see, well what would you like to happen? As the ones that generally come into you’re land are rouges and I have no control over them.” Alpha Austin says calmly.

“It needs to be sorted now!” He roars and I step back on instinct at the sheer power in his voice as do the rest of the pack members.

“My clan members, friends and family are getting hurt by your kind. If this is not sorted we will go to war with your kind,” he snarls and my claws elongate at his tone.

I stop as a hand grabs my elbow and brings me to his side.

“What would you like to settle your anger?” The Alpha questioned, his tone strong and powerful.

“Let me choose one of your warriors as my love,” he replies, his steely gaze holds my father’s.

“As you wish, but it shall not be a mated or couple she wolf only those that are single.” He stated as the vampire leader jumps to our side.

“Let your single she wolves step forward,” he suggests and my father nods at us.

I step forward along with the other she wolves, nervous and anxious looks flit across their faces.

I can feel Justin’s anxiousness from where I am standing and give him a thumbs up, to which I get a small chuckle.

He walks the line of girls once and glances at me before moving on.

“I choose her.” He points at me, his eyes holding my hardened gaze.

“Um s-she is my daughter you can not have her,” my father explains and the vampire gets in his face challengingly.

“You said choose. I choose, I have made my decision. Take her!” He commands and instantly there are 2 more vampires on our side of the valley.

I growl and my pack surround me. Justin stands beside me protectively as the vampires circle us.

“Then we shall go to war, first your kind go onto my land and then you don’t let me have the she wolf that I choose. Outrageous.” He snarled, and his eyes blaze and change from hazel to orange.

The Alpha grunts and shifts ready for a fight.

“Stop!” I shout, pushing my way out of the wolves and towards the vampire leader.

“Why do you speak up she wolf?” He asks me his tone softer now, as he raises an eyebrow at me as I rush to my father.

“Um because I can?” I reply softly. “Father I shall go with him, don’t go to war over this please. Alice needs you be there for her please.”

My father grunts before shifting back.

I sigh in relief as the vampire smirks at me.

I felt like slapping him now. He may be beautiful, but his heart was far from being it.

“Are you sure Faith?” I nod in response and he hugs me to his chest tightly.

“She can visit you as long as she doesn’t run,” the vampire adds and I grunt in response my heart clenches for my younger sister.

“Tell Al that I will visit someday okay? Tell her I love her and that she needs to be strong for the both of us,” I whisper as a small tear runs down my face.

“Please be safe, I love you minha filha,” he sighs, letting me go as Justin runs up and hugs me for a second before going back to the warriors.

I wipe my eyes and stand up straight.

My eyes wander over my pack as I shift and howl for a second before jumping over the valley with ease.
