Her first breath.

''Here she comes, one more push,'' the doctor says, ready to catch the new-born.

Her mother takes one final breath and with all her strength push. Moments later the new-born cries fill the theatre. The doctor hands the newborn over to a nurse who cleans her face and places her on her mother's chest.

''Hello baby," the mother says crying and laughing kissing her daughter.

Five Angels stood over the humans who are oblivious to them. Some belief in them, but most do not.

''Welcome to the family,'' says an angel standing over the father of the new-born.

''Thank you. This is my first female human ever, but I have been part of families with females in,''

Angel Zuriel says leaning closer to inspect the new-born. She looks right at him and settles down.

A mother's prayer...

She holds her little three-year-old daughter in her arms while praying a good night prayer.

''Mommy do you believe there are angels around us?'' Gabriella asks in a small voice.

After thinking for a while, ''I believe so my little darling. They tell God when we are good or bad and protect us from bad things.''

Angel Zuriel looked up to Angel Sariel, the mother's Angel, ''Half true, I suppose.''

''But if they are our Guardian Angels why do they allow people to get hurt? Why did daddy die?'' Gabriella asked with sadness in her voice.

''I don't know why Daddy's Angel did not take care of him,'' Gabriella's mother gave her a warm hug to comfort her.

''Are you ready to sleep?'' her mother asks and tucks her in with a kiss on the forehead.

''I love you, mommy.''

''I love you too my darling.''

A child's confession...

''I know you are there,'' Gabriella says as soon as her mother left the room.

Angel Zuriel wonder why she said that as there was no one around.

''Tell me, Angel, why can I not hear you speak but I can feel your presence? And sometimes I can see you at the corner of my eye but when I look, I don't see you?'' Gabriella asked looking straight into the direction of Angel Zuriel.

This was the first time a human has ever acknowledge him. Zuriel leaned closer and whisper into her ear, ''I don't know, little one.''

''Good night Angel,'' Gabriella says with a yawn.

''Good night little girl,'' Angel Zuriel says, wondering why he feels different over this human. He never felt fondness over his humans, but this little human being is different.
