The boy was going to die, that much was obvious. His name...Not important for someone on their death bed. He sat with his back facing a boulder of rocks, laying still, except for the occasional twitching of his pale body indicating the little time he had left.

From the looks of it, the boy had suffered injuries that normally occurred during a fist fight. But, in his case, it might have been one-sided. Bruises on his cheeks and body turned into a shaded purple, his right eye turned to a shade of black, one of his legs and arms appeared to have been broken and traces of stabbing could be seen along his arms and legs, but the front and back seemed to have been missed. Blood poured from both corners of his mouth but was thankful that his jaw wasn't broken.

The boy had been beaten to such an extent that it was hard to actually tell who he was. But, there was something on his body that showed that this was no normal fist fight. On the right side of his body a hole had been formed and a 15 foot ice spear had pierced the right side of his body and stuck itself to the bolder that he was leaning on. It had ripped parts of his stomach as well as his ruptured liver which accelerated the pace of his blood loss.

One of the reasons why he wasn't dead yet was because of the super genes that every super powered individual has inside them which results in a stronger tenacity to injuries and no matter how strong or weak you are, that gene is still active.

The boy felt no pain as he looked up at the slowly darkening skies, highlighting a potential rainfall. Was he angry? Sad? There was no way to tell, as his eyes looked soulless and his facial expressions were unreadable.

Could help be on its way? Not a chance as they were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by rocks and plain land with nothing remotely human around.

He started dozing off... then abruptly woke up.

"Do not sleep!", a voice in his head said, "The moment you close your eyes, you are dead!"

"Leave me alone.", he tried to say it but was limited by a slight head movement. "I am nearly dead anyways.".

He guessed that he had at least 2 minutes before he will never see the world again and he will probably never be found.

The first drops of rain plastered his face as he tried to fight back a tear and caught a glimpse of lightning and heard a slight rumble. He tried taking his mind off his slowly approaching death but the pain was not leaving him alone even though he had felt nothing before. His emotions finally overpowered him and he found himself in a long and painful sorrow.

How long had he been there for? Will someone realise that something was wrong? Was someone going to come for him? When will he be freed from this pain? As all these thoughts rushed through his head, grief also followed as the harsh reality of his situation came through.

"Help me! Somebody! I do not want to die! Please..." He was too weak to speak but even his mind started wavering and he knew that he only had seconds to live. All his emotions started going out of control and he was crying, begging for someone to help him, but to no avail.

He thought about his younger sister and how she was going to cope with his death. He was never a great person or someone worthy of acknowledgement, so realising that people would forget about him after a day and go about their daily lives added to his sorrow and he thought that he felt his eyes becoming watery again, but nothing came out.

The last of his energy had all been used up. Besides, there was no point in crying anymore. As he awaited his demise, a part of him felt happy and relieved to be finally able to escape this hellish world.

His eyes closed and his head tilted to the side as he drew his last breath.
