Chapter 1.

From a distance, the automobiles' honking could be heard. The police had surrounded the area in response to a blinking eye or dazzling light in a matter of seconds. Nobody could figure out how the reporters entered the scene. She could not move a finger and was restrained by police shackles when she raised her eyes to see what was happening. She looked around while flicking her long, black silk hair to the side while wearing the only piece of clothing on her body—an inner pant. She had on her long, high heels and stepped methodically, creating cracking noises on the ground as the police pointed her in the direction of the police car. She turned around to see his body being crammed into a hearse. She appeared perplexed. The most amazing day had abruptly become dreary.

The room and its surroundings were crowded with crime scene investigators wearing white cloaks. The water was reddish-bloody; perhaps a death had occurred there. From a distance, one could hear the sounds of their shooting machines looking for the proof. The detectives held various items in search of the evidence, most likely fingerprints that would pique their interest. However, there was no need for proof because she was the sole person accused of killing her covert lover.

“Bring her in!” the captain uttered as he threw her into the police car. She remembered the whole scenario when she heard the captain's voice.

Brenda arranged her paperwork early in the morning before heading to work. She talked on the phone while putting her suitcase together. She didn't forget to pack her dildo.

“Has the chance been offered to you to handle the case?”

“Yes, I'm in charge of the matter, but I lack any supporting documentation against...”

“Don't worry sir; rape and violence against women are widespread these days.”

“I'm grateful. Good time”

“Likewise!”

After hanging her call. Brenda entered her daughter's room right away and discovered her looking at some images on her laptop.

“How are you my love...?”

“I'm good ma'am. Will you be leaving? Do you regularly eat breakfast nawadays...?”

“Yes, I'm good honey. Why are you on your computer at this time of day? Aren't you not ashamed of losing your sight such early...?”

“Mom, check out these photos! What happened to these people, I wonder? ”

“What! Pictures of Montessorian Mentus? They died, though... What advantage does it have to watch all of these? ”

She opted to alter the subject of their talk when she realized that her mother wasn't interested in philosophy. Her mother almost made her feel irritated as she gave her a kiss. She pulled her mother while still standing and gave her a hug.

“Did you see your father today?”

“Mom...! How will I find out where he is?” Brenda took a moment to reflect before adding, "I believe I am the one who is intended to ask you that mom...” She appeared to be in a different world until her daughter broke the stillness.

“Is everything well between the two of you?”

“Yeah! Everything is OK, honey.”

“Carolina... I have to go now. Am seeing Clarah right now."

“Ok mum... Drive defensively...”

“I'll do honey. Bye! ”

Branda noticed her husband pacing the room and talking on his phone as she dragged her suitcase to the door. The call seems to be going well for her spouse for he kept on smiling and doing some romantic moves.

“We have the entire weekend to enjoy ourselves, which is great. Where can I arrange for the date?" enquired her husband over the phone.

“I apologize; I'll call you later...” said Mr. Jefferson abruptly after realizing that his wife was heading in his direction. He added before ending the call, “Give me some time sweetie... I will call you later.” He made Brenda feel ashamed with his dishonest actions.

“Is that a person I know?” inquired Brenda.

“Can we depart right away? I believe you mentioned visiting your friend today yesterday.”

“Do not worry about that! I believe I overheard you mention something like enjoying the entire weekend...” Brenda was dissatisfied with him and made the decision to go without saying goodbye. She had once and twice seen a change in her husband but was unable to determine the reason. She just suspected his new assistant, which was the only thing she blamed. Despite the fact that he insisted it was "just business” they appeared to be more intimately connected than married couples, furthermore themselves.

Despite the knowledge that he was eliminating her wisely, Mr. Jefferson said, “Drive carefully.”

“I will,” Brenda responded, experiencing the hurt of losing a loved one, notably her husband with whom they had been dating for more than 20 years. She gave herself a self-congratulatory nod and kept traveling. She placed her luggage in the trunk of her car and then headed directly for her friend's residence. Her thoughts were confined to her hubby throughout the dense vegetation. She repeatedly dried her tears while giving herself false hope by persuading herself that it was common for husbands to cheat on their wives. She discovered her friend waiting for her when she got to her friend's flat.

“How are you Brendaa... Hello my bitch! Nice to see you again!” remarked Clarah as she gave her a hug right after getting out of the automobile. To assist her, she took the baggage.

“I'm good honey... How are you doing? You appear to have changed in just a few days!”, Brenda jokingly remarked. Clarah regarded herself and questioned what she was referring to. She held her pretty face abruptly.

“Changed! Goodness gracious! Am I getting to be too ugly?” Unsatisfied, Clarah enquired. She shared with her after lighting her cigarettes. As they converse, smoke pass over their heads.

“No! How can I think of that! My dear, I didn't intend that. I'm trying to say that you're getting sweeter!”, Brenda remarked while attempting to comfort her heartache. Brenda hugged and kissed her once again to console her. They started to laugh throwing smoke everywhere; from their cigarettes.

“You must be joking. It's too cold outside let's go inside! Do you still not realize that I am unmarried and searching or will you grant me warmth?” Clarah continued the laughs by adding more to it. Brenda grinned at her and drank some of the wine she was holding.

“You enjoy drinking wine? Why don't you sample some adult beverages?,” Brenda asked as soon as she entered the room.

“Adult beverages? Why do you say that exactly...?”

“Why are you scared of spirits? I prefer having spirits than these sour less drinks!” questioned Brenda, but Clarah interrupts her suddenly.

“Spirits...! Let me assume you intend to bury me. I love my liver and ain't burning it soon!” Clarah yelled.
