The police station was a bit quiet as the sergeant and young policemen discussed on how they help little Evory.

"It's surprising that in all this days nobody came in to see how she is doing, hmm the world really isn't that good sometimes" Sergeant Houston says.

"Well, all the relatives did call stating that they won't be able to take her in" the young policeman beside him says.

"Yeah, but they should have come and see how she is doing after the accident especially because she's still young, she could be traumatized or needing medical attention" Sergeant Houston says looking pitifully at little Evory who was busy fumbling her fingers.

"What should we do now?, finding her a new home seems to be impossible right now since nobody wants to adopt her" the Director asks.

"We've done all we could, maybe we should take her to the Child care center, what do you think Sergeant? The Director asks.

"At this point, I really think that is a good idea" Sergeant Houston says nooding his in agreement.

"Hey Little Miss Hills , tomorrow uncle Houston will be taking you to the Child care center. They will take good care of you there and you will make new friends of your age, okay?" Sergeant Houston says crouching infront of Evory who just gave an unpredictable look. She parted her big eyelashes like she heard nothing or as if the Sergeant wasn't talking to her.

"Hmm, what an innocent beautiful soul, you'd wonder why nobody wants to..." Sergeant Houston was still talking when he was interrupted by a series of muffled footsteps walking through the hallway. The nearer they came, the louder they sounded. They weren't just some ordinary footsteps, it was just clear that whoever is about to come through that door was quite a Somebody. A president maybe or somebody who has just won the biggest and toughest battle and walking around where people praise and bow to him in honour.

As all eyes turned to the door ready to see who will come through, a figure appeared. It was someone so tall and well built that the Director and others almost dropped their jaws looking at him. He really was a giant, a handsome one though. He did look like a warrior who is used to having a taste of victory. It's amazing how one can perfectly describe someone from the sound of his footsteps before you could even get to see his face.

He walked in with his hands in the pockets of his black suit. The Director noticed him immediately and made path for him and the others followed suit. It was none other that Jump City's most feared and respected young billionaire Lucas Marshall. He was announced as the heir of the Marshall clan by the eldest Marshall.

His eyes scanned the room until they landed on Evory and he strut his way to her . He looked at her for a moment before taking out one of his hands to caress her little face tilting her head upwards so she could look at him.

"Do you want to come home with me?" Lucas Marshall's deep voice says to Evory Hills who just looked at him straight in the eye without a word.

"Young Master Marshall, miss Hills has never spoken ever since the accident and it's been five days now" Sergeant Houston says

"Purposely?" Lucas Marshall asks furrowing his brows in arrogance and chuckles.

He felt a little hand hold his giant finger as he ignores Sergeant Houston and turns to Evory. She still didn't say a word but stood up from where she was seated. Marshall scooped her up in his arms taking her to the car outside.

The Director hurried to the commissioner's office and came back to where Lucas Marshall's car was parked.

"The commissioner wants to adopt that child" he yelled.

"It's been five days, he's a bit late don't you think?" Lucas Marshall says giving a bold chuckle.

"I'll adopt her and I'll handle the adoption process myself" Lucas Marshall says.

"You can't do that " the Director says

"Oh watch me" Lucas Marshall says

The Director wanted to say something but he was stopped by the horning sound of Lucas Marshall's car taking it's leave.

He didn't take Evory to the big Marshall house but he took her to his private mansion instead. Evory was a bit uncomfortable in his hard arms but as a tough girl she didn't show.

"This is my private mansion so there's noone here because I love my peaceful space. I only invite a maid once or twice a week to clean and they leave after cleaning" he says as he drops Evory on her feet in the living room. She looked around and although it was a new environment, she did not seem scared or uncomfortable. She looked at Lucas Marshall who sat resting his head backwards.

"Are you tired?" That was the first thing Evory said for over five days. She walked over to him.

"I am Evory Hills, what is your name?" She asked

Lucas Marshall who has never introduced himself to anyone just looked at her. His eyes turned into something you can't describe. As if reading his mind, Evory asks , "so what can I call you " .

"I am third son at my home " he said.

"Okay I'll call you uncle Three or Third uncle, what do you think?she asked.

"Call me whatever you want" he replied.
