Her Offering

"500 million, take it and leave my child alone!" The woman in front of me shouts.

"My answer is still no, Madam." I puff the cigarette in the ashtray. She saw what I did and I think it fueled the anger inside her towards me.

She never likes what I'm doing right now.

"What do you want?! How much money do you want for you to leave alone my son ha?!" This time she shouted with full range but I didn't bulge. I continue watching her lose her mind with hatred and anger.

"I can give you anything! Just leave Dominic!... Tell me! Name your price! I'll give it to you!"

I stood up from my seat on the sofa. "Madam, your son is capable of giving me anything more than you can." I tease her.

I can see her veins pop-out in her forehead.

She's mad. Her name is Madge Pierre and I think her name incorporates how she's feeling right now towards me.

"You bitch! Just leave my son alone!"

"I can't. We are married and we love each other and that fact alone won't make me accept your offerings!"

She scoffed. "Ohh dear, you two are just married on paper, there's no actual wedding! You just sign a marriage contract and that's it."

"I know and I'm not assuming for an actual wedding. I'm good with being his wife."

She has that evil smile on her face before sitting down on the chair beside her, elegantly.

"Poor you to assume that. To tell you this, the marriage contract is fake!"

"Say it again?"

"The marriage contract is fake. So, technically you are not legally married to my son. My son knows that, but he still sticks with you because of that damn love he felt for you."

"Then why are you so persistent for us to break?" I raised one of my eyebrows as I asked her that.

Before answering she eyed me from head to toe. "Look at yourself, you are way too cheap for our family. Our family has a legacy and reputation to protect too, we don't tolerate individuals like you, you are considered squatters for us. Maybe my son, Dominic, appreciates your existence but we don't, and that fact should make a huge difference in you to open up your mind to not stick with us. You are disgusting, I feel bad for you." She explained.

And wonder if she realizes that I know everything that she spit out, she just wastes her saliva on uttering those words.

"I already know that Madam. Even before I entered into your son's life, I knew that your family, the Pierre, is capable of doing anything that they would like but do you know why I take risks?" I asked her.

"Why?"

"Because I love him," I simply answered.

Once again, she laughed evilly.

"You are so funny dear, Vella Solace... Love? Are you sure about it?"

I shot her a death glare so she would stop continuing her nonsense.

"Okay. Fine. Given that you love each other but are you sure that you didn't have any other hidden agenda that's why you love him?" Ohh d*mn! Here we go again.

I cursed her in my mind endlessly and silently hoping that this discussion with her will end very soon.

"Do you think I have?"

She roamed around her eyes. This woman here is really something.

She's a pain in my a**.

"Based on the environment you are in, right now, this house, those decent clothes and car you have, I can answer that with yes."

I gritted my teeth as I heard her answer.

"Excuse me? What exactly do you want to point-out here?" I asked and took small-steps forward because I'm ready to face war if the next words she'll utter are something that I don't like to hear from people on her level.

She stood up as she noticed what I did. "That you are a gold-digger. You are just using our wealth for your obsessions. You know already that your marriage with Dominic is fake you are still insisting that's legal so technically in my eyes you are a wh*re."

I slapped her.

She pushes my patience to its limit that's why I ended up doing that. Do I have regrets right now? None. Madge deserves to be slapped at this moment. Maybe she can open her eyes and leave me alone. But that's what I only think and hope for because I found myself in a chaos with her.

I slapped her, she pulled my hair. Her lovely bag even pulls down on the floor. So now, we are pulling each other's hair. She uses her great force that's why I'm hurting and can't find my own strength to pull her hair just like what she's doing.

"You b*tch! 500 million is my last offer! You can't come back to my son!"

"No! The f*ck! He's my husband! Let Go!" I shouted back. I don't get why we are fighting over and over again because of this.

"You are not his wife! Remember that!" Then she threw me forcefully in one corner that made a loud thump on the floor.

I groaned in my pain. I can't help but to let my tears out. Tears that mixed with frustration and anger.

"But I'm pregnant!" I managed to shout that out. I wanted to get up but my lower back really hurts because of the impact so I just stayed on the floor, watching her stunned for a while because of it. "I'm pregnant with his baby, you grandchild!"

She takes a minute before responding. "Are you sure?"

"Of course!"

She sighed heavily. "No! I'll give you 500 million in cash later after I get out of this house... You're all gonna have to leave my son alone, you can choose to have and raise the baby or you can abort it at all! Pierre's family, for sure, will not like this!"

I finally managed to get up. "This is your grandchild, why are you saying that?"

"We don't like to taint our bloodline with the lower class. I think it's better for you to not have that child."

"No!"

"Then you left me with no choice! Leave my son, or you'll lose your family?"

I closed my eyes, gathering a little more patience. I get it, she doesn't like me at any angle but why does she need to mention my family?

She got her bag, and put out her phone to call someone.

"This is Madge, gather all the data about the Solace Family, I want them out in the statistics."

I frozed. I get what she meant. She wanted to kill my family! We may not be rich like them but I truly value family. I can't afford to lose them.

With all the courage and strength, I made up a decision. "Fine! Give me the money, but let me have this night with Dominic."

She grinned with victory. "Alright. Settled then."
