Paitoon smiled weakly at his mother, Sunstra. The lady before him was now weak and frail, her hands cold to the touch and her eyes drooping.

"Don't worry Paitoon, I'll be alright and you'll still have the chance to take me to the beach hmm?" she says weakly.

She knew that she wouldn't see the sunset today and that saddened her, her son will be alone in this cruel lonely world.

"Rest up mum, I'll see you when I come back from schOol" he says with his voice cracking towards the end.

The lump stuck on his throat made it hard to talk. His eyes glassed over with tears as he knew that when he comes back, his mother will not be breathing.

Sunstra had aggressive cancer, stage four. Her hair had fallen out and she was wearing a blue cloth on her head, courtesy of the hospital. The machines hooked up to her wrists always shattered Paitoon's heart.

"Focus on school okay? You’ll.....you'll find me here"

He took in a shaky breath and stood up. His mother weakly held his hands.

"My handsome son....I can't wait to meet your husband" she said making him gasp.

"Mum! How can you say that?"

Her laughter turned to painful coughing making Paitoon hand her a glass of water. He sighed.

"Some mothers usually hate the idea of their son being like this...."

Her grip weakly tightened on his hands.

"I am your mother Paitoon; it's my job to give you everything you want and need, you Being happy regardless of what you do is my reward, Now go to school you'll be late"

He sighed and smiled, his lips kissed her forehead softly.

"I love you mum"

"I love you too....Paitoon"

With heavy legs, Paitoon left the room and leaned against the cold hospital wall. That will be the last time he had the chance to speak to his mother, he hates it.

"Are you okay?" A concerned nurse asked. Was he really okay? No, but nonetheless, He nodded quickly.

"I'm fine, call me if anything happens"

The nurse and gives him a reassuring smile.

"As you wish"

He walked to class in silence. Paitoon wasn't an outgoing person; he was an introvert and preferred to be alone. His classmates didn't even bother to talk to him unless it was about school work.

He sat on his chair and looked around the room, his classmates in groups talking and laughing, he could see some taking selfies and some sharing jokes. He admits he wants at least one friend but it's too late now so why bother.

The teacher entered the room and they all got to their feet to offer a wai.

"Take your seats please, ehm, Mr Paitoon Kittisak; you're wanted at the principal's office"

His heart skipped a beat hearing that was it time? Already? With his classmates’ eyes on him, he quickly made his way out of the room and ran to the principal's office.

His echoing footsteps on the hallway were in rhythm with his panicked heartbeat. The only thing on his mind was his mother, he thought he could endure the loss but he was wrong, no child wants to lose a parent and he was about to lose his only surviving parent.

"Sir you wanted me?" He asks catching his breath. The principal nodded and stood up, he knew about the student's situation.

"I suggest you go back home, today is the day right? Spend time with her, set her off with a smile"

His lips quivered and he ducked his head.

"Thank you"

"I'll have the teachers email you today's work, hurry, go!"

He waited for a taxi at the stop for ten minutes and not one showed up, he was panicking. He then decided to jump on the road to hitchhike any car that was willing to give him a lift and luckily for him, a black Mercedes stopped right in front of him

The door opened and a very angry man got out with a deep scowl.

"What are you doing? Are you insane?!" He roared in anger. Paitoon ran up to him.

"Please sir, I need your help, I have to see my mother at the hospital"

The man pushed him down the tarred road making him yelp as he landed on his butt.

"Are you insane? Can’t you wait for a taxi?"

Suddenly the back door opened and Paitoon saw a young man wearing a black blazer with a white shirt underneath, the elite school uniform.

"What is going on? I'll be late for school"

It then clicked, the man was the driver and the boy was the young master. He crawled to the young man and prostrated himself at his feet.

"Please, I beg you...my mother is dying, please give me a lift"

The young man was stunned, his eyes wide in shock and his cheeks pink in embarrassment.

"D-Don’t do that, uncle, carry his bag in and you, stand up, which hospital?"

He smiled and got to his feet.

"Thank you, I won't forget this"

They got in the car and Paitoon led them towards the hospital, once they arrived he got out and pulled money out of his wallet.

"Thank you for the lift, take this to compensate the fuel I used"

The young man was shocked again. This boy had good manners; his parents had raised him well.

"No it's okay, a charitable act doesn't require a reward at the end" he says making Paitoon smile.

"Thank you again; I hope you won't be late for school?"

"No it's okay, hurry inside, good luck"

They exchanged a wai and Paitoon ran inside. The young man sighed as he watched his retreating figure.

"Let’s go to school"

"Yes young master"

The car ride as usual was in silence but the young master was deep in thought, the way that boy had such effect on him was strange, what could it be?

Before he knew it, they were at school. The most elite school, in Thailand. The uniform alone cost 60 000bhat.

He grabbed his bag and got out of the car.

"School ends at twelve noon, be here before that and bring a large get well soon basket with you"

"Yes sir"

He walked inside the school premises and watched as students scurried away from him like he had the plague.

"Oiii isn't that P'Phichit?"

"He's so handsome"

"Khayaaa! P'Phichit marry me naaaa"

He smirked; it's been always like this in this school. He made his way to his friends, Earth and Preed.

"What's up losers?" He says sitting on top of Earth's table.

"Ohooo the young master is late today, what happened? Trouble deciding which car to use today?" Preed teases.

This school was no ordinary school. It was a school for the elite people's children. The people who had enough power to remove an article about them from Google, the people who can either destroy or improve your life with one text.

"What about you huh? Was that a new motorcycle I saw in the parking lot?"

Preed smirked and pulled Earth by the waist making him squeak.

"I had to buy a new one to impress my wife"

Preed and Earth were a couple, for two years now and being in this school helped them to come out and encourage those who needed encouragement about coming out, they were the school's favourite couple.

"Bleeeehh, I'd rather remain single thanks" Phichit says going to his desk.

As the teacher entered the classroom and the class officially began, his mind took him to that boy from earlier on; could it be that he found his missing link?
