It's the mid  of June. The sun was scorching high above  in the cloudless light coloured sky. Luna Cross  pulled the  long dark curtain  from her desk to block the sunlight shining directly at her  pale face.  

　　"And the summer vacation starts tomorrow.  Enjoy with your family and friends. " The teacher ended her class and walked out. Her footsteps were quick.  The teacher is also excited about vacation like otyers, Luna thought.

　　As soon as the teacher went out, the class was filled with cheers and noise. The girls and boys gathered in their own groups and started talking about their vacation plan with their family.  "I am tired of going to beach with my parents in every summer. I wish I could go with my friends to some cool palces." The boy sitting next to Luna spilled his worries in front of his two friends  turning back at him from the front seats.

　　Luna packed her bag thinking ,how she wished to be with her parents and enjoy each and every day . She was always silent and didn't have any best friends or anything close to  friends.  She walked along through the hallway to the school's cafeteria.  It was already packed with lots of boys and girls,  too excitedly talking about their vacation. 

　　After buying  the veg. burger waiting two and half minutes in a queue ,  she looked for the empty table  because she didn't like noise and noisy people. 

　　She saw  an empty chair  in the last row but the girl was sitting  with her eyes buried inside the book. Its silence at back, I will eat there, she told herself inside her head .

　　She placed her plate on the table and grab a chair. After a few bites, she noticed the girl before her was asleep with the book covering her face. What did she do at night that she slept during lunch.

　　In a quite corner of cafeteria,  she finished her last bite. She was about to get up when John Flair came running at her table. "Hi Luna" he greeted her with a warm smile that made him even more cute. She knew him. He was the son of her mother bestie. " Hello" she greeted back.

　　John patted the back of a sleeping girl. The girl raised her head. Her sleeply half opened eyes looked at Luna. "Oh its Luna , Aunt Sara's daughter. " she said thinking she was the one to pat her.

　　Luna also knew her. She was Eva Zade, a year senior than her and was in same class as John. Eva's, John's and her mothers were best friends from childhood. Her mother had shifted to that place three years ago with her besties' support after divorce with her dad. She knew her mom send her to St. Aasha Junior High expecting John and Eva would support her. But to her surprise , they really cared about her and came to check her in her class regularly for a week.

　　"Don't sleep in cafeteria, Eva." John yelled in her ears. 

　　"Why're you so loud", Eva closed her left ear with her left hands.

　　"What'd you do last night?" John asked adjusting himself  on a chair.

　　"I waiting for my dad and mom till 1  but I didn't see their car entering through the gate. When I got up in the morning, Aunt Ma told me they had called late at night saying they'd gone to another city for business meeting or something like that. Won't be home for breakfast? I am really tired. " Eva yawned as soon as she finished.

　　"What've you guys planned? Taked to you parents already?" She asked

　　"My mom's busy too." Luna told expressionless. 

　　The bell rang. "I'm leaving." Luna walked out to her locker. She took out her mathematics book and went to her seat. All her classmates were still talking about how their holidays will be and where will they be going. Luna was not interested at all because she knew her vacation is not important. Her single mother can't afford to be distracted from her job.
