Chioma POV

I woke up to the sound of the singing bird,I brushed my teeth and went to do the chores.

My name is chioma and am 24years old.I lost my parents and I stay with my stepmom.my mom died during my birth and my dad remarried but he died in a car accident when he heard my step mom gave birth to twins,he was in a hurry and thats when he had the accident.my step mother and my stepsisters turned me to a slave in my fathers house.

As I was washing the plates my step sister chiyere who was about my age with a bunch of clothes.

"Ehnn wash my clothes for me and make sure you wash my pants well okay".

"yes i will".I said and she went inside.

I couldn't help but pity cuz if she marry who will help her and wash her clothes.I finished doing everything in the house before going to mama ijeoma house,she has been my mother since my mom died.

"Mama good morning ".

"Ahh chioma Nwam how are you"?.

"Am fine,mama let me hlo in cooking the food".

"Chioma you wills surely make a good wife unlike those your stepsisters who do nothing but look for men to marry them.that reminds me you know my son in the city Fred".

"Yes mama".

"Do you like him cuz I want you to marry him".

"Ehnn I do mama".

"Good now leave everything to me,I will make sure you marry him okay".

"Okay mama".I said blushing.

Fred POV

"Cancel all my appointment today am going home early".

"Okay sir".she said and left and just then my phone rang and it was my mom.

Hello mom,good morning".

"Morning son,I want you to come to the village today".

"Was that why you called me this morning, am busy with work".

"Okay mama I will but why do you want me to come".

"I want to discuss something important with you so come,no excuse".she said and cut the call.

I hurried home and saw Emily my girlfriend sitting on the couch.

"Hey honey,you came back early".

"Yes I want to go yi the village to visit my mom".

"Okay am coming with you".

"no am going alone".

"But why"?.she asked with a puppy face.

"She wants me to come alone".

"But she doesn't know am your girlfriend".

"Please I font want to talk about it okay am going bye".I said and peck her on her cheek.

I arrived at the village but don't know the location to my parents house so I saw a girl walking down the street and I stopped to ask her.

"Hi please do you know maxi were okafor componound is".

"Yes just go your left and turn right you will see the compound".she said shly,what's wrong with her.

"Okay thanks".I said and gave her some money and drive away..
