Coraline Lazaro, Cora for short. She’s been an A straight student from elementary to college. Has never broken any rules and has never dated anyone. Many boys tried to court her but she has always rejected them because she preferred studying than dating and also, she wasn’t interested because she has already reserved herself to the Lord.

Yes, that’s right. She wants to be a servant of the Lord that’s why after she graduated, she immediately told her parents that she wants to enter the convent and become a nun. Of course, just like any other parents, her parents were shocked too, because they thought that she would pursue becoming a prosecutor and not a nun. They’re saddened by her decision but they didn’t refuse because she had already convinced them that she really wants this—and kind of guilty-tripped them that she’s already followed everything that they asked her to do all throughout her life, and that it’s time for her to live her life her own way now.

“Cora, are you really sure about this?” her mother popped the question while they’re eating their breakfast. Her mother has been asking her that same question ever since she told them that she was going to the convent. It’s slowly being normalized in their daily lives. Alice sighed as she nodded her head in response, she then smiled at her mother.

“Yes mama, I really want to serve God.” she said. Her parents sighed and forced a smile. They’re still sad about her decision, and she can see that they’re also disappointed, but this is what she wants.

She also feels guilty… She knows that they have high expectations of her but she really wants to be a servant of the Lord, and not a prosecutor.

“Your poor suitors are going to cry blood once they found out about this.” She chuckled upon hearing her Mother’s words. She has a lot of suitors, almost every day she receives letters and bouquets from them, and no matter how many times she rejects them, they just kept on coming back.

“It also saddens me that I will not be seeing my grandchild from you…” Her mother added, and that made her shoulders drop.

Obviously, her Mother is trying to guilt-trip her using that but unfortunately, that’s not going to work. There was a time in her life that she thought of having a kid of her own, but she wants to be a nun more than being a mother.

“Mama…” She called her mother, her mother forced a smile on her and just shook her head.

They were in the middle of eating their breakfast when her twin suddenly arrived.

And yes, she also does have a twin. But unlike any twins, they don’t have the same personalities… they’re actually the complete opposite of each other.

Her twin sister, Caroline, is very outgoing and enjoys partying outside the whole night. She has little to no interest in studying, that’s why she’s been hard stuck in college. Also, her twin sister dates a lot of boys, and if she says a lot, she means, a lot, lot.

While Coraline likes to use simple, long dresses, her twin Caroline likes—no, scratch that, loves wearing outfits that would expose her skin. Caroline is so different from her and their family that people would often call her the black sheep of their family.

“Wow, my angel twin sis is still here.” Caroline said with a sarcastic smile plastered on her face.

Coraline sighed.

She also forgot to add that her twin sister hates her to the core. Well, she wasn’t always like this.

In fact, they actually used to be so close they wore matching outfits every day. But when they reached the fifth grade and Caroline suddenly changed and became the person she is right now.

“I thought you’re going to leave today? What about the convent? I’m so excited to see you leave.” Her twin sister said as if she’s mocking her.

“Carol!” Our Mother shouted.

“What? I thought she’s going to the convent. Are you sad mama? That your favorite daughter is going to be a nun and not prosecutor that you always wanted?” Her twin sister sarcastically asked their mother.

“Caroline stop talking to your Mother like that!” It was their Father who shouted this time. Coraline sighed and stopped eating.

“I’ll be leaving at noon ate Carol.” She said and smiled at her. The smile on her twin’s face disappeared and she glared at her.

She’s already used to her twin sister treating her like this. Of course, at first it shocked her when Caroline suddenly became mean to her. It actually broke her heart, and she did everything—her best, to reach out to her to fix whatever’s the problem, but she always failed.

And because she’s used to her twin sister’s attitude being like this towards them, Coraline just decided to ignore the mean words that are coming from her mouth until she got used to it.

“Let’s eat?” she invited her twin sister to eat, but Carol just rolled her eyes and proceeded to her room.

“She comes home late and won’t even bother to bless her parents’ hands! You’re twins but you’re the total opposite of each other!” Her father angrily shouted.

“Hon, Caroline might just be stressed on her school.” Their mama said, trying to calm their father down.

“Stressed? She’s stressed because of her school?! She’s been skipping school to go to her parties!” her father shouted again

“Papa, calm down… try to understand Caroline, maybe she’s going through something. Just calm down, you’re not allowed to get mad because it’s bad for your heart, you have a weak heart remember?” She said to her father.

“She’s always going through something! Hay!” Her father added and sighed heavily before continuing eating.

After finishing our breakfast and after washing the dishes. She was about to enter her room when her twin suddenly blocked the door. Coraline looked at her twin sister confusingly.

“You’re leaving today right?” Her sister asked her; Caroline’s right brow was raised and she was even chewing a gum.

She sighed.

‘She really wants me to go huh’ Coraline thought.

She nodded her head and smiled at her twin.

“Yes.” She responded.

Caroline rolled her eyes and cringed but that expression suddenly changed. Her twin suddenly grinned at her.

“I have a gift for you sis. It’ll be arriving anytime today. Have fun in the… convent… or not…” She said before leaving. Coraline’s eyebrows furrowed upon hearing her twin sister’s words, it’s as if she was trying to hint something to her, and the way she said those words were so cryptic.

She sighed and shook her head. ‘She’s always cryptic and very hard to read’

‘Maybe it’s just me. Caroline loves to taunt me, maybe she’s just taunting me this time.’ She whispered to herself.

---

When noon came, she finally bid her goodbyes to her parents, she was actually planning to say her goodbyes to her sister but when she visited her twin sister in her room, she was no longer there. As expected of Caroline, she only stays at home for a short period of time, just to eat, take a bath and change clothes, and then she would take off somewhere there’s party and drinking.

Coraline sighed. ‘I’ll just send her a text message later’

She was waiting for a taxi a few blocks away from their home, when suddenly a McLaren 570s arrived and stopped right in front of her. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when a man came out from there; he was dressed very nicely and he looks very handsome!

She shook herself and looked away.

‘Snap out of it Coraline! You’re already going to the convent, stop it!.’ She immediately whispered to herself.

She was about to walk away whens suddenly, the man that just came out from the car pulled her arm, and her eyes widened in shock when he suddenly carried her like a sack of rice.

“Ay!” she shrieked.

“You woman! You stole my Lamborghini Veneno Roadster! You made me take a suspicious drink that made me pass out, and when I was passed out you took my keys and stole my car!” He shouted at her the moment they entered the car. Her eyes widened in shock and her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when she heard his words.

“I don’t even know who you are—”

“Stop lying! You know what you did, woman!” he shouted, his voice was louder this time and that made her jump a little and close her eyes in fear.

She stole his car?

Wait…

She doesn’t drink and she can’t even drive…

Oh no…

“I have a gift for you sis. It’ll be arriving anytime today. Have fun in the… convent… or not…” Her sister’s words replayed in her mind, and her eyes widened in shock when realization struck her.

“S-Sir, I think you’re talking about my twin, she’s—” Her words were cut off when he glared at her. She saw that the man’s jaw was clenched, and his eyes were filled with rage.

She bit her lower lip.

What did her twin do this time?!

“Shut up woman! You’re going to pay for that!” He shouted. He immediately stepped on the gas, he was driving so fast that she held on for her dear life while praying to her God.

“Please Lord! Help me and please prevent any accidents from happening to us, please calm the man that I’m beside with right now. Whatever my twin sister has done to him, may he forgive her—aw!”

“Forgive?! Do you know how much that car costs?! It costs $9.5 Million!” Her jaw dropped upon knowing the price of the car from his mouth.

“You’re going to pay for it!” he repeated.

"H-How? I don’t have money!" Sabi niya rito. Her parents can afford some things but it doesn’t mean that they’re rich. They will not be able to pay that car back even if they starve themselves for ten years!

The man glared at her and the corners of his mouth slowly curled into a grin.

"You'll find out how."
