It is Monday morning of June.

I was just woken up.

I live with my grandfather since I was a kid.

I always thought about my parents every time since I'm curious about them.

I didn't know who they were.

I always asked my grandfather "Where are my parents?" and the only reason he always tells me is that "they abandoned me".

It always makes me sad when I hear the word "abandoned" as I am the type of person that always cares about the being of the people that I love the most like my grandfather.

He takes care of me since I was born.

We live in an isolated area of Manhattan in New York. The walls of our house are made of narrow plank and it is already shattered.

We don't have any types of equipment or tools that we can use.

We only had our bathroom with a toilet.

When we were sleeping we just lay down on the floor and use a rusty mattress.

Every dusk we were just using a candle to support us as a lamp.

Our clothing is torn apart and you can notice the holes in them.

You can say we are poor and our life is miserable, but that's how life works and the only wish that I have is to stay with my grandfather's side until I get old.

"Good morning, grandpa George!" I kissed my grandfather on his forehead and serve him a cup of coffee.

"Ready for college?" Grandpa asked.

"Of course." I said with determining tone.

Today is my Freshman Year at Manhattan University.

I always felt that I couldn't go to college anymore since we're just poor and don't have enough money to pay for college tuition.

I was so sad after I graduated from senior high school.

When my grandpa saw the sadness on my face since he knew that I was determined to finish my studies, so my grandfather makes a way.

Every morning grandpa worked at the bakery as a baker and every night he worked part-time as a tourist guide since there were many travelers to New York, especially in summer.

As for me, I also work part-time as a waiter in a small diner near our home, so that I can help my grandfather to gather enough money for me to go to college.

"Thank you grandpa for everything that you did for me. The sacrifices, your hard work, and your dedication." I said with teary eyes in front of my grandpa.

"Of course I'll do that for you. You're my lovely grandson after all." Grandpa said while caressing my head lightly.

"So go ahead and be ready for your first day of college." Grandpa said while shoving his hand at me.

"Okay, grandpa! Enjoy your coffee." I said while walking through the bathroom.

I'm a little bit nervous for today because I have always been bullied at school since I was a kid, but I've never told my grandpa about it since I'm already used to this kind of situation.

7 minutes later.

I walked out of the bathroom and changed my clothes to a student uniform, after that I brush my teeth and put my shoes on.

I looked into the mirror and I saw a good-looking Nathan Gray.

Well, I’m not that gorgeous but, I am still confident in my look.

The perfect shape of the eyebrow, with hazel green colored eye and fair skin like what women usually had and also a reddish, sweet thin lips.

"Grandpa I'm leaving now!" I said to my grandfather.

"Okay, take care." Grandpa George said while waving his hand at me.

I walked out of the house to take a bus to Manhattan University.

"I'm leaving here." Grandpa George said to someone on the phone.

"Okay, Dad! I will look for someone to get the Private Plane ready for you." Nathan’s mother said on the phone.

"I'm sorry to do this to my grandson, but Grandpa George needs to leave to take care of some matters with your parents for your future." Grandpa George thought.

He packed all his things but there is a strange pendant with the letter G engraved on it, a message, and money left for Nathan.

Nathan arrived in front of Manhattan University at 10:30 and he's so delighted today since it's his first day of college.

"Manhattan University here I come." Nathan said with a smile on his face.
