I work alone. It’s rule number one. This way no one else gets hurt. And I don’t get attached. My missions are not just for the highest bidder, I have far too much money banked in off shore accounts all over the world for that. No, I choose the work that means the most. Did you hear about that dictator who suddenly had a heart attack in his bedroom? That was me- a little poison somehow found it’s way into the tiniest needle inserted inside of his ear while he slept. Or how about that playboy billionaire who had a nasty reputation for settling out of court for raping underage girls? That one... was pro Bono. And it was not while he slept, and it was not painless. The bastard would never harm another child again, and the entire world got to see censored pictures that he had taken during his exploits, tarnishing his “legacy” forever.

There’s a reason that I have only myself to rely on- I literally have a knife scar on my back to prove what happened the last time I trusted someone. My handler says that it’s going to be my fatal flaw. But hell, I don’t trust him either.

Jon, my handler, text me about 5 minutes ago that he has some work for me. I open my computer and sign in. An email contains the details, from coordinates to coded names. Vladimir Krystov is well known as an arms dealer. He doesn’t have the moral compass I do, and I have had his name as a personal kill in the back of my mind for a while now. An itch that needs to be scratched. Or rather, a blight to be erased from this world. At least now I’ll be paid to bring the bastard down.

I stand up and stretch, staring out the window. Well, my “vacation” lasted almost a week. I step out of my hut, basking in the sunshine for just a moment. I don’t get many moments like these. Like a weight has been lifted and I can just... breathe. My cover up flutters in the breeze, the light reflecting off my white bikini. My eyes close peacefully as I breathe in the ocean. My hut is built over the ocean, around 100 feet from shore with just one long dock leading to it and my jet ski attached to the side of the hut. All of my training had balked at the thin reed walls, but I have surveillance set all over the area to alert me to any disturbance. I sigh and roll my shoulders back. Time to get to work.
