Tristan was still drunk with victory over. Even now that he has returned to his country with the honor achieved in the recent Asian Games, his smile still does not fade. He was the first Filipino Gold Medalist in the golf competition. This year's Asian Games were held in South Korea and he had just returned from there. To this day he still cannot believe the circumstances.

He started his interest in golf at the very young age of thirteen. His grandparents enjoyed playing with it. They have a membership to a country club. At first, Tristan was just tagging along, then he tried playing some more. The next thing he knew, he was already good at it. And in the years that followed he trained hard so that he could compete. At the age of eighteen, he was the youngest champion at the National Open. He set a new record in the country.

And now here he is. He won international competition held in South Korea.

But that wasn’t the only reason for Tristan’s pleasure. She is happy to be back today because her parents' twenty-fourth anniversary is tomorrow. In the evening there will be a celebration. Apart from carrying a gold medal, he also wants to give a special gift to his parents.

He was smiling back at his own reflection at the mirror. He said he looked very much like his father, according to his mother. Her older sister Topher also agrees. He got the shape of his father's face better, while Topher got the shape of their mother's face better. Tristan's family is close to each other. Not just the four of them but the whole clan of the Alexander. But when it comes to closeness to parents he is superior to the eldest sibling. He was quite the spoiled son. And his older brother did not seem to mind at all.

Even if you say twenty-one years old, Tristan can still be said to be young. And that in itself brings even more surprise to everyone because of his win. He had a bright future ahead of him apart from his family's name. He had nothing against people who only saw the Alejandro in her name. It was just that he wanted to have his own identity. Maybe all of them, the younger generation, want that.

After making sure that he was wearing a blue button-down shirt and jeans, Tristan finally left the room. There he was temporarily staying at the home owned by the late Lola Minda, the wife of their Lolo Ramon. Tomorrow morning he will also travel back to Taguig where he lives- to his parents' house.

The two older siblings both live in the possession of their parents. But Topher was planning to move out soon. One of their older cousins, Dexter, is developing land. Right now Skystead is the name of the place. Dexter's father started the place, but since it was gone it was Dexter who continued. Most of his cousins were planning to move to that place. He also and plans to build a house there. But he didn’t want to leave his parents. Maybe he will still live at his parents' house even if he has his own home. They would be sad if both of them and Topher were still leaving.

Smiling Tristan rode into his Convertible Ford Mustang. While driving and he was still singing the song on the stereo.

He intends to buy

her mommy's necklace while her daddy watches. He heard his mother's remark that his daddy's favorite watch had stopped. He will buy the same. As for the necklace, he will only choose which one is the best. Just like his mother.

He went to a mall because there was definitely a jewelry store in the area.

While walking inside the mall Tristan called his mommy. She knows nothing about jewelry. If he buys his mother it is better that you will really like it.

"Oh Iho! I've been trying to call you!" That was the greeting of Lorien Alejandro, her mother, when she answered the call.

Tristan looked really ugly. "Happy Anniversary, Beautiful."

Her mother laughed. "Are you going home? You have to be here for the celebration of your victory."

Tristan's smile twisted slightly. "Mom, I told you I don't want to celebrate. I just want to be there for Daddy's party. You promised me. Please forego the celebration for me. I want this day to be for you and Dad." After lunch he will leave. He will arrive in Baguio exactly.

"I know. But I really want to mention your win. Can't I do that?"

He was shaken. "Fine. Whatever makes you happy, Mom. But it's really your anniversary tonight, huh? I can easily sneak out when I find out it's a surprise party for my recent victory." When he saw a jewelry store, he stepped into it.

A resounding laugh became his mother's response. And while Tristan was happily listening to that laugh-one of his most favorite things in the world-he saw a familiar volume inside the jewelry store.

He blinked to make sure he was seeing correctly.

It was his father, Christian Alejandro. But what does it do here? He was supposed to be in Baguio. Or so he thought. But now the father is inside the jewelry store. That only means one thing. She is buying a gift for her mother.

His smile widened. He would have said that he had seen his mommy when he saw something that had stopped him to the point of immobility.

It must be a bad dream.

"Eunice! Eunice!"

It was such a beautiful day. The sky was blue, full of clouds that he loved to watch, especially when he wasn't doing anything. It was a good day to soak in the sunshine. That's what he does himself at those times. That's why she was on the rooftop of their house and lying on the lounge chair-in her white shirt, blue boxers, and sunglasses with a pocketbook in her hand. She was having a good time. He is already in the good part of the Tagalog Romantic Novel that he is reading. But her father’s repeated calls ruin her concentration and happy moments.

Eunice insisted on ignoring that because her father might get bored too. He didn't want to stop reading, especially in that part --- Roger was teasing Bobby while they were at the beach. She couldn't help but smile.

But his father's voice grew louder. Meaning, it's already climbed to the rooftop. And he wasn't wrong. Before he could feel it, the amasa was there in front of him and grabbed the book he was reading. He exhaled before taking off the sunglasses he was wearing.

"Why not, Dad?" not getting up from the lounge chair Eunice asked. Based on his father's visible expression it seemed angry. "What's the problem and you have high blood again?" He tried to joke and even smiled.

Its expression only filled with irritation. "There's your Japanese lover downstairs again. Didn't I tell you to answer 'no'?" Or do you just want me to tell him? "

Eunice shook her head one after another. Her father Joseph Delos Reyes was not a strict father to her with. But when his father doesn't like what any of their siblings are doing, he interferes. But he, the eldest, knew their father better. How he was older than his two brothers. Thalia their youngest is still in grade six. Next to him was James who was only in the third grade of high school. While he is in college in the HRM course next month.

Eunice was twenty years old and her father said it was okay for her to accept a lover, as long as it passed. But he had not yet thought of going astray. He still has many goals to reach. Her engagement to those goals will only be a hindrance. As for the lover that his father says, he is not really Carl's lover but just a good friend. And it’s not Japanese but Korean national.

"Korean, not Japanese. And how many times can I say that he's not flirting?" He corrects. He would like to add that why did the father allow him to seduce her, even though he was against it just in case he became her lover. That's why they will definitely have a long discussion.

"I don't care what his race is as long as he doesn't come back here!"

"Carl is kind, Dad," the friend defended. "Don't you want to have foreigner grandchildren?"

He still tried to promise.

And his dad's nostrils only got bigger. "I don't care if he's still a prince of Brunei!" its growl. "And whether you're flirting or not, I don't like the way you look. I know you like it!"

Eunice shook her head. When the father's mood is like this, he just follows. "All right. I'll go down and tell you to go home because you don't want him ..." He took a single step when his father pulled back the T-shirt he was wearing. "Why again?" he asked, scratching his head.

"Don't go down there wearing that!"

He scratched his head when he looked at himself. "Of course. All right, Dad, you can let me go now."

Reluctantly, his father also dropped his shirt. She snatched the robe and started running away. Whatever the father shouted he ignored. As he goes down the stairs he puts on the robe.

Eunice lives in a three-floor building in Binondo. The first floor is a lomi house, the second is rooms. That building is also a lodging house. And the third is their home. Well, for him the rooftop is still part of their residence because that is his favorite place. Even if there are only two lounge chairs, a small table, two small chairs, and only a few potted plants.

He promised himself that he would transform that into a beautiful greenhouse in the near future. Once he graduated his cousin promised to help him get abroad. One of his cousins was in New York and worked there regularly. Earning dollars is why her aunt's life here in the Philippines is good. But before he can transform that part of their house they must first recover the entire building.

They had mortgaged the entire building and the land on which it stood to the bank when his mother fell ill. So no matter what happens he needs to succeed.

When Eunice went down to the first floor of the lomi house, she immediately saw Carl. He also saw her so the man smiled and waved. He quickly approached it and held it by the arm before forcing it to stand up.

"Let's talk outside," he said uncontrollably before pulling Carl by the arm to get out of the building. When his father caught up with them there, it would surely be an allusion to what it would take with Carl.

Contrary to the expectations of those who see it, Carl understands and speaks Tagalog because he has lived in the Philippines for many years. Another is that it is not pure Korean. Carl's mother is a Filipina.

The man was one of the kindest people Eunice had ever met. He was even kinder than some of his classmates. And she really liked hik. He was a good person. During the four years they were classmates he became good friends.

In the last few months they have become even closer. He thought that maybe it was because they were about to graduate. But Carl didn't confess if he liked it.

Arriving next to Carl's car parked nearby they quickly got into it. They both gasped until they looked at each other and just laughed.

"You're father doesn't like me, right?" said Carl when they stopped laughing.

Eunice nodded. He believes it is better to be honest at all times.

"But don't worry. He's just like that because he doesn't know you. Once he gets to know you he'll like you."

"I really hope so," Carl replied in a sad voice.

He jokingly kicked his friend. "Didn't you say yesterday you would give me ice cream?"

"Yes."

"Then what are you waiting for?" Let's go! "She said enthusiastically.

"Huh?" Confusion filled Carl's expression. She looked at what he was wearing.

He just smiled. "That's okay, go ahead, let's go."

"Would it really be okay if you leave? Your father might be angry," he said in a strange tone. Because really handsome-typical Korean-Carl just looked adorable.

"It's okay," he replied still smiling. "I guess you still want me to change my mind."

Carl shook his head one after another. When it started the car the friend first smiled at him sweetly which he also reciprocated with such a smile.

"Carl do you like me?" he thought to ask.

Carl suddenly stepped on the brakes even though they were barely moving. Her face was reddened and she couldn't seem to look at him. Right then and there Eunice already knew the answer to her question.

He was such a good friend. But if you happen to woo her, she won't be able to answer it either because of her goals and priorities.

"You like me as a friend just as much as I like you as my friend, right?" Eunice sighed before Carl could say anything that could ruin their relationship as friends. She was smiling so brightly at him that it seemed like a very normal thing they were just talking about. Ohh well. It's really normal. "Right?"

Slowly Carl turned to her. At that moment it was already smiling. A nervous kind of smile. "Yes."

Eunice contentedly turned forward. "Let's go."
