"Three years, it passed like a dream." Victoria Smith mused, sprawled on the plush living room sofa in the grand Brown family mansion.

Her appearance belied her age, with unkempt hair, a complexion darkened by neglect, freckles dotting her face, and the heavy weight of her life etched under her eyes...

Suddenly, the butler’s voice came. "Miss Smith, your contract has ended. The Mr. wishes for you to sign the divorce papers today."

Turning her gaze from the drama unfolding on the TV screen, Victoria showed a smile, carrying a hint of indifference.

She reached out and took the contract from the butler, Bruce.

Bruce had braced himself for a struggle, but Victoria just signed the papers without a shred of hesitation.

Unexpected, he felt a pang of regret. Despite Victoria’s appearance and status being mismatched with the Mr., she was a good woman.

"Thank you for your kindness over these past three years, Bruce," Victoria said, returning the signed papers.

Despite sharing a roof for three years, she and her husband, Robin Brown, were like strangers under the same sky.

However, Bruce, the butler, had always been considerate.

Then Victoria waved away the butler's offer to help with her luggage.

Bruce found that she seemed different today, more assertive...

Victoria reached into her suitcase for a coat, let her hair cascade down, and discarded her glasses.

After a quick swipe of makeup remover, her true complexion shone through, revealing an stunning beauty.

"Bid you farewell, Bruce," she said, and with a flip of her hair, she left the Brown family mansion.

Bruce relayed the news to Robin Brown, expressing his surprise at Victoria's transformation.

...

As Victoria was about to hail a taxi, a sleek car pulled up.

"Boss, it's been a while. I've missed you so much," Michael Lewis, an attractive man, greeted her from the driver's seat, then swiftly loading her suitcases into the car.

“Why are you here?”

"Boss, it's your independence day. How could I forget?" he replied, a smirk playing on his lips.

Victoria eyed him with an icy glare, making him feign a heart attack.

"It's been three years. I'm really not used to seeing you like this, Boss," he confessed, earning a rare laugh from Victoria.

Victoria studied her reflection in the mirror, feeling a strange disconnect.

She had disguised herself for three years, fulfilling a marriage contract to repay a debt to Old Mr. Brown.

Now, that chapter was closed!

"Boss, where to?" Michael asked, pulling Victoria from her thoughts.

With a knock on the window, she replied, "The acquisition banquet should be underway, right?"

It was time for some people to pay up.

"Understood," Michael said, stepping on the accelerator, ready to face the future...
