Jonathan ran away with Valerie, Natalie. What the fuck was that?

My eyes widened when I read my cousin's message. It was as if cold water had been poured on me and my whole body turned numb. I read her message over and over and I felt my chest tighten. No. . . it can't be. This must be a joke, right?

Shane sent a video of Jonathan running away with Valerie, my best friend. Fuck. What does this mean? Are they cheating behind my back? Only a few people know about my relationship with Jonathan because he wants to keep it private and low-key. We have been together for two years already. Is this the reason why he is hiding me? He also did not introduce me to his family. He said he wants to surprise his parents on his wedding day. Here I am, a fool. I agreed with our set-up. Fuck private and low-key. So that’s the reason why? Because he’s in a relationship with Valerie? Fucking traitors. They betrayed me. They made a fool out of me.

Tears welled up in my eyes, tears of anger, pain, and resentment. Why is it like this? As far as I can remember, I have done nothing wrong to them. I was a good friend and a lover. Why did they retaliate against me like this? Shit!

I kept crying. I don’t care if the eyeshadow I put on my eyelid scatters. Fuck. It was as if my chest was being torn apart by pain. Now, what would people say? What would my family say? I shouldn’t be embarrassed like this. I need to do something.

I wiped away my tears and stood up from my seat. I don’t know what went through my mind at those times. I opened the door and pulled inside the first man that I saw. I could see he was stunned by what I did. His eyes traveled all over my face. His thick eyebrows furrowed and his gray eyes stared at me with confusion. His red lips twitched. He's handsome, but I'm not in the mood to appreciate his features.

"Marry me," I said without hesitation. He was slightly startled and stunned. He re-examined my entire face. I don’t know why I said that. All I care about right at this moment is to prevent myself from being labelled as a jilted bride. I don’t want to be embarrassed later.

He was silent for a few seconds and when he was sure I was serious, he massaged the bridge of his nose and stared back at me. His gray eyes stared at me intently. I gulped.

He lets out a sigh and nods his head. "Yes."

After that, we got married but I didn't process the papers, making our marriage invalid. I thought it turned out fine. I thought it was already okay. But then, two months later, we met again.

Turns out, he's my new boss.
