"Alright, Casey, I'll be here to pick you up from school later, okay?" Mirabella asked her son who nodded his head vigorously at her.

They stood at the entrance of the school where she had come to drop him off.

"And remember" She went on "No fighting or quarreling with your classmates. If anyone picks on you then report to the teacher. The Adams..." She trailed off waiting expectantly for his response.

"Always takes the high road. Got it mom" he finished off with a smile. She tucked a strand of his curly brown hair that fell to his face behind his ears and gave him a quick peck on the cheeks.

"Mom I'm almost seven." He shrieks "Plus, people are watching. It's embarrassing" He rubs off his cheeks where her lips had touched and she smiles at his efforts in trying to act all grown up.

"Alright, little man. See you soon."

He nods before turning to go but stops halfway "Don't forget to buy my drugs and tell aunt Rukky that I love her."

"Will do" she replies and he runs off. She waves at him until he disappears out of sight. She lets out a huge breath as she stared a bit longer as though he was still there.

She knows that she's supposed to get used to him being away from her but sadly she can't. It's like every moment with him shouldn't end.

It's surprising how attached she is to him when in fact she tried just about everything to get rid of him when she found out that she was pregnant with him.

Mira pulled out her cellphone from her black leather pockets and stared at the screen "Shoot!"

She's late for work again. Hopefully, Tia remembers to cover up for her, or she is screwed. Her boss would literally eat her out and spit her in the cruelest way possible.

She quickly hails a cab and the minute it stops in front of her, she gives the driver her direction and he zooms off to work.

The cab pulls in front of a resort in less than ten minutes and she hurriedly pays him before rushing inside.

After signing in, she tries to sneak inside through the elevator but unfortunately, she is caught by her supervisor.

"Late again, Mirabella!" Sasha calls out to her and she froze immediately. She bites her lips in utter frustration before turning to face her.

"Good morning boss" she greeted in the most polite voice that she could muster.

"Good morning does not sweep the floor Mirabella, it doesn't mop the dirty tiles, it doesn't scrub the irkiest of stains and neither does it pay your salary!" She barked at her fiercely which causes Mira to flinch.

She should be used to this lady's nastiest character and mean words but every time she faces her, it's usually the opposite.

"I'm sorry boss. It won't happen again" she begged profusely with sad eyes.

"And that's what you said last time. Maybe I should just fire you—"

Mira's eyes flew open at that statement and she quickly clasped her hands together to apologize.

"I'm sorry. I had to take Casey to school and I lost track of time" she explained to the woman who looked like the doppelganger of jezebel in hopes that she forgives her and gives her another chance.

Right! More chances until she's completely out of them.

"Get to work!" She yelled at her with a crunched face and Mira quickly scampered away as her life depended on it.

She arrived at the changing room and quickly changed into her working clothes. She meets Tia halfway through the corridor.

"Thank goodness you're alright." Tia held that part of her chest where her heart is located and blew out a deep breath "I thought that jezebel actually got you"

Mira chuckled at her outburst.

"I'm in one piece as you can see."

"Of course, I can see and that's why I'm relieved. What happened today? You're late"

"Casey happened. It's always a struggle to get him to school on time these days."

"I understand."

Mira nods "Did you happen to see my name on the roaster? Which room was I assigned to?"

"Sir Andrews room"

Mira's facial expression changed and she groaned in blatant irritation.

"Why Andrew?" She asked no one in particular "That man is a flirt. He's always trying to have his way with me and I reported it to ma'am Sasha so why would I be assigned there?"

"You know that he's a VIP guest. My guess is that he requested you and she had no choice. The customer is always right remember? You should be a happy girl. You're extremely lucky. You get to spend your shift with a hot boss."

Mira laughs at the statement.

Typical of Tia to say something like that. She's always smitten with the hot guests at the resort, just as she calls them.

Mira has also heard stories that Tia has been shagging most of the VIP guests to gain extra credit but she won't say anything about it. It's not in her place.

"I'm twenty-five years old Tia and I have a son as well." Mira reminds her. "Plus, I'm not into these types of games with employers. Trust me, it doesn't end well. I'm content with whatever I have."

"I hear you mother Theresa." Tia mocked "Too bad most of us are the devil's incarnate so we're left with no choice. Take my advice and everything would run smoothly for you. You're beautiful Mira. If I had half your beauty, I would've made a name for myself and found a way out of this dump. Too bad you're not putting yours to good use." Tia concludes before pushing her trolley towards her station.

Mira heaves before doing the same.

She takes the elevator and before she knows it, she's in front of Andrew's suite. She rings the bell before letting herself inside the room.

As expected, the room is scattered. Bottles of drinks are littered everywhere. The bed is a mess and there are used condoms all over the floor. His clothes are hanging around every corner of the bedroom. Mira would've sworn that she saw a woman's panties amongst the pile as well.

"God, give me strength," she whispers to herself before getting to work.
