Jessa walked into the room and met the cute little things still fast asleep on their separate beds.

  Her babies.

She smiled ruefully and walked closer to them, sitting on Nadine's bed.

They were sisters - twins - although, not identical. And they shared the same room, but slept on different beds.

Nadine and Nadia were their names and they were the only precious things Jessa had left.

"Hey" she cooed and patted Nadine softly.

She turned to Nadia and did same and bit by bit, they started groaning out of sleep.

"Urgh!! Let me be, mum. I'm dizzy" Nadine grouse as she turned uncomfortably on the bed.

"Come on, baby, we're running out of time. You wouldn't want to be late for school, would you?" She said softly, but they still continued turning uncomfortably.

She tapped each of them again and finally, they forced their eyes open.

"Does everyday have to be school?" Nadia grumbled as she sat up and itched her tiny eyes.

They were just 6 years old.

Jessa laughed at her sarcastic statement.

"Don't worry, darling. Weekend is coming in a few days from now and you can rest all you want, okay? But for now, come on. Mummy needs to get you ready for school because if you go late, I'd also be late for work and Mummy might get sanctioned" she enthused and a whole new energy drove into them.

They didn't want to do anything to hurt her. So, they got their minds ready.

  Jessa smiled at the realization.

"Come on; I have your bath water all ready. We just..."

"Mummy, isn't daddy home yet?" Nadine interrupted calmly and Jessa felt a cut in her heart.

If not for the fact they were kids, they'd have prolly noticed the break in her eyes.

"Um...N...Not yet, honey. Your daddy's still very busy with his project" she lied - again.

"So, he's still not back in the country?" Nadia asked and she shook her head negatively.

"But why, mummy? It's been so long already. And we haven't even spoken to him on phone. Are you sure he's gonna be home for our birthday party?" Nadine grouse.

"Of...Of course, darling. Your daddy wouldn't miss your party for anything" she let out a fake smile, so it could cover up for her nervousness.

She was grateful her babies were just too young to notice it.

The two sisters were quiet for some seconds as they tried to digest the whole stuff. They were missing their father so so much.

"Um...come on, honey,it's getting pretty late. Hurry up so I can bath you" she tried standing up.

"Uh-uh! Hell no, mum. Don't worry about it. Nadia and I are grown ups already and we sure don't need you to bath us anymore" Nadine boasted as she jumped on the bed.

Nadia seconded with her own laughter and also jumped on the bed and together, they ran into the bathroom.

Jessa was smiling at them as they ran away, but as soon as they were out of sight, she covered her mouth with her palm and bursted into tears - uncontrollable tears.

Oh! She couldn't bring herself to tell them the truth; no matter how hard she tries; she just couldn't do it.

How does she tell her kids that the father they've known for 6 years suddenly left them? The father they've known for 6 years has divorced her to be with another woman?

How does she tell them to get used to the fact that he was never coming home? How?

  Oh! Tyler!

She hated him so much - hated him for doing this to her; for breaking her heart.

And she hated his mistress as well.
