"Idiot, why have you come here?"

"Shameless creature, get out now!"

Smack-

With the sound of a loud slap resounding through the family banquet, a ragged-looking girl, covered with dirt and stains, heavily bumped into the champagne tower.

Crystals of glass scattered all over the floor.

Blood gradually spread out from her face and body.

Dressed to the nines, Marina Claydon looked gloomy as she was infuriated by her mentally challenged daughter, Madeline Claydon.

If it weren't for someone who needed Madeline's healthy kidneys, she would have liked to strangle this embarrassing creature herself!

The Caydon family was reputable in Chesterfield.

But she gave birth to a naturally mentally challenged daughter.

In order not to publicize this disgrace and ruin the reputation of the family, they had no choice but to hide Madeline and adopt another girl, Vicky, and publicly announce that Vicky was the heiress of the Claydon family.

Madeline was kept hidden for eighteen years.

Who could have guessed that this fool would run out of the cellar, humiliating herself in public and ruining Vicky's eighteenth birthday banquet?

The people who are in attendance today were wealthy and influential figures in Chesterfield!

The most important guest present was Timothy Grindley, the eldest son of the prestigious Grindley family.

Observing the laughing and whispering guests, Marina explained magnanimously.

"She is the daughter of a former caretaker of my household. Her mother passed away in a car accident, leaving her unattended. I pitied her and took her in. She has a cognitive handicap. I'm so sorry that she has offended you."

Upon hearing this, people expressed their understanding and complimented Marina for even taking in such a fool that could bring disgrace to the family, applauding her as clearly kind-hearted.

Satisfied with all the praise, Marina gently smiled and prodded Madeline who was lying on the floor in a pool of blood with the pointy tip of her high-heeled shoe.

"Be good, Maddie, get up now. This isn't the time to mess about."

Madeline did not move for a long while.

The fresh blood beneath her kept flowing more and more, shockingly red.

"This idiot isn't dead, is she?"

"Well, it would be a relief if she died, no use in living anyway. Dying would be less trouble."

"That's right. Marina took care of her for so long and really did her part."

People were murmuring.

"Well, no matter what, she's my girl that I've raised for many years. I can't just sit on my hands and do nothing. Despite looking frail, Madeline actually has a sturdy physique. She must have simply fainted in a moment of carelessness while stealing food.

"Zack, come over here, take Madeline to the hospital to get her wounds dressed.

"Send her directly to the Grindley Hospital and remove her left kidney," Marina calmly ordered in an undertone, her smile unchanged.

The initial plan was to send this simpleton to the hospital right after Vicky's birthday party. So why not use her injury as an advantage to aid someone?

After tonight, Madeline would have turned eighteen and be eligible for organ donation.

Zack, the butler, nodded and went to lift Madeline, only to find her body frightfully cold. But he didn't think much of it, attributing it to excessive blood loss, and quickly called people over to help.

When they rolled her onto her back, her face - blurred with blood and flesh -was impaled with shards of glass!

The notable guests all had the same ridged look of disgust on their faces.

To them, people from the lower class coming into their circle and disrupting their party was like rotting meat that made them nauseous.

They didn't care if she lived or died, all they wanted was for her to be quickly escorted out so as to not tarnish their refined eyes.

Madeline was thin. Long years of confinement in the basement had left her skin abnormally pale, a sickly pallor.

The crimson stood out against her skin, like a blooming bizarre blood rose.

Droplets of blood keep falling, one after another.

They stained the pastry she held tightly in her hand, the one she didn't even have the chance to take a bite of.

"Get someone to clean this up quickly. Don't dirty Vicky's birthday party!"

Impatiently, Marina urged on.

"Mommy!"

Beautiful and gentle Vicky walked over with handsome Timothy.

Timothy glanced dismissively at the bloody scene on the ground, his eyebrows barely furrowing.

Upon noticing his reaction, Marina immediately said, "Madeline is just too gluttonous and accidentally took a fall. She only disfigured herself. Don't worry, Mr. Grindley. Your father will be well again after tonight."

Timothy retracted his gaze and flashed a faint smile, "I will remember your kindness forever."

Marina grinned from ear to ear. To get connected with the top wealthy family in Chesterfield was a blessing many could only dream of!

After this matter was settled, she would have Madeline admitted to a mental hospital, the type she could never come out of!

Bang!

A strange noise came, and everyone turned to look.

Madeline was seen rolling at the entrance.

In a hurry, one servant insisted, "We didn't throw her. She broke free on her own."

Madeline was lying on the ground, her hand twitching slightly.

Furious but trying to hide it, Marina rushed over. With her back to everyone, she pretended to lovingly touch Madeline's face.

"Maddie, are you okay?"

In fact, Marina pressed the shard of glass further into Madeline's face.

The sharp pain would unquestionably ensure her obedience.

"Is your skin itching for a beating again, you brat? Now, get up and get out, and stop making a fool of yourself, you hear!"

She growled in a hushed voice, feeling indescribable disgust looking at Madeline's face covered in blood and her dazed expression.

A powerful hatred brewed within her.

Madeline used to be so adorable and pure when she was born, but now, the more she looked at Madeline, the more detestable Madeline got!

She increased the pressure on the glass shard with a resentful force.

The sharp glass digs deeper into Madeline's flesh.

The wound on her face cracked open even more, and an intense pain rushed in.

Suddenly, Madeline opened her eyes to look at Marina.

In that instant, the vacant expression in her eyes was replaced by a rampant cold and ruthless look.

Marina was taken aback.

She never saw such a look in Madeline's eyes before. Every time she was in a foul mood, she would take it out on Madeline.

Madeline always feared her, never resisting the beatings. Like a beaten dog, she would curl up in a corner against a wall with her head in her arms, shivering, never daring to make eye contact with her.

But the look in Madeline's eyes just now was too intimidating.

It was as if a demon from hell had crawled out, intending to claim her soul with ferocious cruelty.

Such a gaze sent an inexplicable chill down her spine.

"What are you looking at? Don't you want to eat?"

Madeline was an idiot with low intelligence who only knew about eating. Using food as a threat was Marina's usual tactic.

She thought that Madeline would also obediently follow her words just like before.

Still, Madeline continued to stare at her with gloomy eyes.

Something terrifying seemed to be awakening within her body...

Marina felt a shiver of terror down to the depths of her heart. Subconsciously, she wished to make Madeline suffer a bit more.

She was about to strike Madeline, but Madeline was quicker!

She quickly ripped off the shard of glass on her face and brutally thrust it into Marina's eyeball.

"Ah!"

The sudden, ghastly shriek echoed through the Claydon family.

Marina slumped to the ground, shaking with terror, her hands clutching her burst left eye as she let out a shriek akin to a pig being slaughtered.

"My eyes! Help me!"

Everyone was petrified by this gory scene.

The once dignified and gracious Marina was now nothing more than a bloody, ghastly figure.

Madeline slowly stood up, her face - barely recognizable due to the gore - showing utter indifference.

Her eyes were cold, her blood-stained lips slightly parted, curling into an evil grin.

"Triangle eyes, high cheekbones, an acutely-pointed nose tip coupled with a gaping mouth, it's a face that screams malice and greed. And you dare call yourself a mother? Seeling your daughter for glory, you're nothing but trash!"
