Chapter 1

Sometimes I wonder where I am missing and why I don't have a parent or did my parent leave me here in the baby center when I was still a baby?

Especially if you grew up in a center where many orphaned children like me left them in the center. There's only one sign I'm carrying that is the mark on my body, but I don't pay much attention to it anymore and only now again because he's growing a little bit.

But I have never harbored hatred for them because I don't know why I grew up here in this center and all my life I have been helping with whatever activities there are here.

I'm Camille Martinez 16 years old, I don't really have Martinez's last name.

Ate Joanna lent her last name to me. Third year high school at Brentson Academy, even though tuition was very expensive there I struggled to get a scholarship because I had a reason and first of all those who raised me at the center couldn't afford tuition at Brentson Academy because only the rich can afford tuition there.

At least I got a scholarship that until now I still maintain being a deans lister, I'm happy even if I don't notice because there are other students there who envy me, I don't know them as long as I don't want to do anything but to study.

"Hey Camille? Isn't you're going to school now? You may be late If you don't get hurry. This is your first time to go on that academy yourself, it wouldn't be hard on you went there by yourself? Or if you want to, I can go with you to support on your entrance exam there." Ate Joanna came to my room as she entered and hit the doorknob to open it.

"Ate, It's okay... It's 5:25 early in the morning and I have a lot to do here as much as I need to fix myself, I don't need to hurry... You don't have to worry about me going there by myself Ate, I can do it and thank you for worrying ang supporting me about for the entrance exam I will be taking Ate," I was sound so concern because I saw the worried reaction of Ate Joanna's face when she get near me in the vanity mirror.

She touched my hair and rub it, "You know that I have always look after you, Camille. Since on the day that you've been here in the center I was able to look and care for you like my own child, or my sibling. You know how much I love you as your big sister right?" She said while sobbing and I looked at her on the mirror and before I realized, it was my turn to look for her on her face.

I wiped her tears away and mischievously pinch both of her cheeks.

"I was so very thankful for doing that for me Ate, you're so very kind to me from the beginning and I couldn't ask for more on how you take care of me, you are my one and only Ate that I could wish for."

We both have shedded tears right now, but I just reminded her that I will be continue my daily morning routines and after that we were headed outside my room as we both walking the kitchen to eat our breakfast.

I scanned my features now as we're heading now to the kitchen, it was not bad right? A simple white shirt and faded skinny jeans I wore, I'm not that kind of person wearing too much effortly dress just like what other girls want to wear.

"What are you doing? Hahaha," Ate Joanna just laughed at me because of what I'm doing, scanning myself.

"Don't mind me Ate, I was- oh nothing," I smiled.

We're walking inside the kitchen but she's intructed me to wait here for a while because she will be going to the children's room now, eating together our breakfast.

I yawned because I'm too sleepy as sitting here, but I don't want to be so rude for the foods right here infront of me that's why I am able to force myself to wake up by patting the both side of my face.

The children and the other caretaker's here, ate Joanna, ate Jasmine and ate Eula have been here together with the kids.

"Greet your ate Camille, and wish her luck for taking the entrance exam kids," Ate Joanna stated first.

"Good morning and good luck for your entrance examination Ate Camille!" they all said in unison.

I'm smiling from ear to ear because they give me a strenght to go on that academy as they are one of my inspirations.

"Thank you so much kids! Thank you also to the three of you my big sister's for helping and take care of me since when I'm also a kid up until now. I will do everything to make all of you proud of me, that's all I could give in return to all of you," after I said my speech they gather to me because they want to hug me and happily eating our breakfast together.

After eating my breakfast, I decided to go out already and then I bid my goodbye temporarily for them.

5 minutes of walking going to Brentson Academy, I felt again that my cellphone is vibrating again so I stopped for a while on the side of the street so I can look for my cellphone who's sends me a text message.

Who might this could be? I think this would be Kayla. She was supposed to wait for me there because she wants to accompany me there as I am not familiar with that academy.

I opened my phone and search for her message abd read it, "I am watiting for you here, come get in here quickly!" I know that she was irritated when she's telling me some kind of that words.

"I will be there in a minute Kayla, getting near the school gate...see you!" I excitedly replied to her.

From there I already hid my phone to the pocket of my faded jeans and continued walking.

When I am here inside the school, my eyes wanders around seeking for Kayla but I didn't saw her from here...I guess she's just jokingly told me earlier that she was already here but it's not.

I decided to sit on the benches not far away to the quardangle, it's so quiet in here when suddenly there was someone who's hugging me from behind but I already knew who it was.

"Kayla! Don't do that again okay? You almost give me a heart attack!" I blurted out when she saw me widing my eyes and my hands are already on my chest.

"I thought you can't get guess of me when I want to surprise you, but I think I was wrong...by the way, are you ready for your examination, Camille?" she's more excited than me.

"I think I am, Kayla. You know I am so nervous yesterday to study the notes that you've been borrowed me and I really want to get pass by that exam."

"I know you can do it Camille, you're the only my friend who can get the scholarship because I have a trust on you that you can do it, remember the face of the kids that have also a trust in you," she's right.

Maybe I am being nervous now but I know in myself that I should get this scholarship in able to attend here in the academy as one of their scholar.

"*clears throat!* Excuse me? Are you Ms. Camille Martinez?" we heard someone's voice coming towards the both of us.

Kayla seems so shock and bows her head as she greet, I guess this is the Dean- A what!?

He's the Dean!? He must be so young but I know he is older than me and he is not my type.

"Yes sir," I have this nervous feeling inside me, but it's little only.

"I guess you're ready to take the examination, no more further a do, we should all go to my office then," he said and smiling a bit.

Both Kayla and I nodded to him.

When we already get to his office, he offered me to sit on the table not far away to Kayla as she sat on the couch near us.

"Are you nervous Ms. Camille Martinez?" he asked.

"A-A little bit sir, but I think this nervous got me feeling right now is the inspiration coming from my family in the center, that's all sir," I explained.

I saw him that he just nod his head and the examination get started.

He told me a good luck but before that, I turn around my sight as Kayla cheered me up and after she's now quite as I already answering the examination quitely too.

After 2 and a half hours, the dean dismissed the both of us already when he got my paper because he told me that someone or he called a teacher to check my paper and they will announced if I passed on the examination on the first day of school as I entered here my first year higschool.

"So where are you going now huh, Camille? Can we go look around the campus? I missed wandering around here since the sembreak here also in my elementary days has started and two weeks from now, we are already in first uear highschool! You aren't excited about it?" she said pouting, she also had this puppy look eyes when she's pleading to me as if she wants to get my permission.

"Okay, if that's what you want Kayla, we can look around here, it's okay with me. Besides, I also wanto see the whole campus in here."

Her eyes twinkling and dazzling because of the happiness I saw on her face.

"You look like a kid when you do that, hahaha!" I laughed a little but she just slap me a bit because she don't want to get be teased
