"It rained all night,"

I murmured to myself after opening my eyes, I find it hard to get up for mornings. How can someone lose the longing for life? I look around to see my cozy room the pictures of my mom and dad still hangs on the wall and the sensation of them long gone lingers to the very core of my being.

The sunlight coming through my window makes the room warmer.

Living independently for several years now, but the memories of losing my family still haunt me every day. Night after night I will find myself waking up in the middle of my sleep flashing back the faces of my loved ones gone forever like the accident happened yesterday.

The phone keeps ringing while I'm brushing my teeth I have no choice but to pick it up.

"Hello," I said using a low tone.

"Hey Girl, I've been calling you, what happened, you left last night the party was superb."

Mumbled Sierra my ever perky friend who is also my workmate, she is like a family to me. There is nothing I can hide from her. The personality she possesses can light up any mood I have. We are like real sisters.

"I was exhausted that's all" I simply replied.

"Gosh Becca you are always tired, I told you to have fun at least, anyway see you at the office. Be ready I heard the new boss is coming hope he is hot can't wait, don't be late Bec."

She said quickly cutting the line.

Yeah Right, the only thought I have in mind. My gut feeling says no, I can't mess with that new boss based on what I heard and know he is notorious for making people so small, what a perfectionist. He came from a well-off lineage, I don't plan to have a crush on him, all I want is to work peacefully.

I have zero energy for hot males ever. My only goal in life is to pursue what my parents wanted me to do with my life unlike Sierra she is all in for courting and I know she values my happiness that's why she is upset about me leaving the party last night, she wants me to mingle and make friends worst fall in love.

Becca Dela Vine, senior creative writer of ManHannah creative firm and designs. I must admit, my background is impressive, after the accident I made sure that I will be successful in fulfilling the promise I have with mom. I look like her, black long hair, small face, nice lips. I'm aware that I don't need to flaunt what I have to get attention from anybody. I value my personal space.

Looking at my identification card, I realized, staying in this company for far too long has been the reason for my existence.

Remembering what Sierra said, the new boss is coming in today, but my body can't seem to cooperate, obviously my sleepy mode is on.

As I was about to press the elevator button, a tall dark handsome man suddenly walk in front of me and did it, before I could do it for myself.

"I got it,"

he said without looking at me. He looks dead serious yet dashing at the same time. His facial features caught my attention easily, his pointed nose, broad shoulders, big round expressive eyes, manly posture can take any woman's heart right away.

"Okay,"

my answer almost sounded like a whisper, I can't help myself to keep staring at his glances, I can feel the beating in my chest.

We both paved our way to the elevator. This is not the only one in this building I could have thought of earlier.

"What floor?"

he casually said, still looking dead serious while checking his watch.

Is he asking me? I tend to talk to myself often.

"Are you talking to me?"

I said asking,

he is making me uncomfortable at this point, how can he look this good?

"Yes, who else is with me in this elevator except you?"

he exclaimed quite amused looking directly into my eyes.

Still thinking about what to say in return, while calming myself at the same time, he gives me butterflies all over my body.

Is he trying to boss me around? is he having a bad morning.?

Why do I care?

"right, the fifth floor please"

I replied without bothering to look his way.

"You look, pale woman, you should catch some rest,"

the man said with a caring voice that gives me a shock, for the record of this whole conversation if I can say that he sounded cold at first but now ending up concerned?

So I answered trying to ignore the sudden caring remark he has towards me.

"Will you please mind you're own business?"

I mumbled impulsively just to cut this whole elevator situation.

He stared at me blankly, I couldn't read any reaction on his handsome face but I'm sure there is meaning with the stares he is giving me.
