CHAPTER ONE

The sun rays blinded my eyes as I squinted to check what time it was ."f**k I cursed under my breath it was 8:30am

"It's almost nine Tasha ,come downstairs before I come up there and drag you outta bed" mom yelled from the kitchen

"I'll be down in a minute mom "

I skidded across the room and went into the bathroom, hurriedly brushed my teeth and took my bath . stepping outta the shower I dried my hair vigorously with a hand drier and frantically searched my closet for what to wear ,I picked a yellow sundress and a white sneaker , hurriedly rolled my hair into a messy bun and jogged downstairs to meet mom and dad .

Anyways I'm Tasha Owen the only daughter and heir to the Owen's shoe empire I'm a very shopisticated and bubbly teenager,I'm always excited on a normal day but I'm super excited coz I'm finally 18yrs old . Throughout the past few weeks I've been patiently be legal .

"Good morning Dad , morning mom "

I greeted happily as I sank into one of the chairs

"Morning cupcake and happy birthday"

"Thanks Mom " I beamed happily

"Happy birthday princess "dad said as he ruffled my hair

"Thanks Dad uhm.....my friends organized a party for me tonight..."

They both exchanged looks and said nothing

"Please mom don't say no " I gripped her hands almost at the brink of tears

"Okay fine since it's your day you're free to go out and have fun "

"Phew thanks Dad and Mom I said happily as I grabbed a piece of bread and rushed out .

DAVID KESSELER .....

He stood at the window pane and watched the scenario outside with his hands across his back . He's DAVID KESSELER of the KESSELERS empire , the most feared man in the country he looks very dashing with his icy blue eyes and perfect face that makes every woman go weak in the knees . He barely talk or smile everyone is scared of him both his employees and his business associates because he'll kill anyone that dares get in his way or questions him . He has a big secret ......

TASHA OWENS

I waited impatiently for classes to end immediately the bell rang signalling the end of lessons I grabbed my bag and joined the moving crowd out of the class .On my way to the cafeteria I linked up with my friends Claire and Joan

"Hey birthday girl you look really good today " Claire beamed happily

" I hope you're ready for tonight's showdown "

"I'm more than ready my parents already gave me permission " I answered joyfully

"Wow that's cool " Joan said .

FAST FORWARD...... EVENING TIME

Tasha Owens

I sat in front of the dressing mirror and applied finishing touches on my makeup when mom knocked and came in

"Hey honey I can see you're all set "

"Yes mom I'm so excited"

"I know dear .Anyways I have a little gift for you"

"What is it mom ??" I asked excitedly

She stood up and walked towards me putting a diamond necklace with a pendant shaped like an animal's head

"This necklace has been passed down from generation to generation , my mother handed it over to me when I clocked 18 and now I'm giving it to you protect it with all your heart it'll always guide you"

"Okay mom thanks "

"Okay baby have fun and make sure you stay away from trouble" she said and kissed me on the forehead

Mrs Owens

I walked into the room sadly

"Have you given it to her??" My husband asked

"Yes I have " I replied

He got up and hugged me tightly

"Don't worry honey she'll be fine trust me "

"I can't stand it George" I cried into his shoulders

"Shush baby everything will be fine "

" I hope so "

"Now clean your tears and let's go to sleep" he said kissing me on my fore head

I sniffled , got into bed and drifted to sleep ....
