Linda is a young girl beautified with a rich dark skin. As a young girl she despise her own beauty. She deems her kind of beauty ugly. Her skin too dark even by those who come across her Renae,Betty and Natasha responsibly feel aversion of every facet of her existence. Isaac is her advisor because of her designing and modelling career .This is a relentless pressure urge that the young lady into a distressing society of self hate and deprives her from her self esteem which leads her on a declining of emptiness. She comes to a conclusion of changing her skin colour to captivate society.

Linda was an expert at designing ,upon arriving in her city town Lusaka she opened a clothing shop.Her business grew and later on called Renae,Betty,Natasha and Jasmine to be her models as well as Isaac her personal advisor.

One day,lungowe was in her office on her phone going through her page "Linda Fashion World" later switched to "Zambian fashion Beauty Pageant"there, an event which was to be held at intercontinental hotel in Lusaka on the 31st December 2020 18:00hrs till late. This event was about all designers in the capital city to bring out their designs and showcase them.The event was sponsored by the Zambian tourism board, the Zambian art and culture organization as well as Zambezi magic. The first prize will be given a free Versace materials,a one week stay at David Livingstone hotel,two sewing machines and $150

Linda was excited and told Isaac ,the rest of the team that they will participate and that she has registered.

A week later linda and her team worked restless nights moved up and down just so they make amazing outfits that will dazzle everyone.

As the event was closer linda made sure she was well prepared and everything was on set.

Their designs emphasized on culture appreciating the homemade "chitenge" material she added glitter to it .

It was now the big The Zambian Fashion Beauty Pageant. Linda her models and Isaac arrived at the big event at the intercontinental hotel in Lusaka.Many guests arrived the conference was full of many people.Dr Nawa the tourism minister was the guest of honour.

The audience took their sits and Joshua mukuka was the presenter.

"Ladies and gentlemen I present you this massive talent show where we have great designers from different part of Lusaka it's time they now show us their designs.Give it up for the first participate Rosemary Mwaka." The first participate her models came to the runway well dressed to show their outfits they had made the showcasing went in such order.

The presenter called on the last two that one should come up on stage and show the audience their brilliant designs .linda came to the stage whispered to the presenter that she will come last.

The presenter called upon Mirriam mwamba to come on stage.she came in with dark skin models that had flat broad nose,curly hair and thick lips dressed in bright tight long wretched dresses with high heels.They looked more captivating and glamorous. Everyone was amused and happy so they cheered and clapped for them endlessly. Lungowe felt dizzy and tense.A little while she felt a huge load on her head and fainted. Quickly Isaac rushed in the dressing room and called for help.

Linda was rushed to the hospital and later on Isaac informed Natasha that they continue with the show.

The event continued and linda's models were called upon the stage. After the presentations ended .it was now time to call upon the winner .Mirriam mwenba was awarded the best overall designer among the participates .

The event ended and later on Natasha,Renae,Betty,Jasmine and Isaac went to see linda.

At the hospital linda was with her aunt Jeanne. Linda was weak looked pale.the doctor told Jeanne that linda had cancer and she was late for treatment. This broke Jeanne's heart.

A minute later the models came with Isaac."how're you feeling linda ?" Asked Isaac they were all worried.

Linda could not resist but cry and went on to tell them."I admit I compelled you all girls to bleach and look attractive. I am ashamed for making you all do that perhaps black is not that disgusting. Growing in a society that deems this kind of colour had deprived me of my self esteem.Black was related with poverty and misery whilst being light all things would go in your way publicity wealthy and desirable flawness.My melancholy story is not the issue here but I wanted to give you a bbackground of why my skin is like this.I urge you guys to love being black.I am the one who brought up this unruly colourism to you.so that you look aattractive .The Zambian fashion Beauty Pageant was pleasantly overwhelming with all the melanin and beautiful chocolate models that I saw.For the first time in my life I was considered beautiful. My reconnection to black melanin empowered me to take great pride in my African culture as being Zambian .my melanated complexion and also surprisingly my being light I realized that I didn't have to conform to western ideologies of beauty because there were people worldwide who saw the richness of our complexion and the strength beauty within us blacks .we should stop this ignorant lighter skin versus darker skin mentality that exists

The Zambian fashion Beauty Pageant I not only showcased my stylish designs but realized my innate bblck woman magic.I tell you all here that I have been diagnosed with cancer and that I'll die soon because I'm late for treatments.

You've all been a great team and my last wish is that you showcase positive traditional images of African diasporan to show the beauty and diversity of blackness."

They all shed in tears and Linda closed her eyes smiling .Isaac touched her feet and they were cold .grief befall all of them as they weeped painfully ."she's dead" he said.
