I put a thick red tint on my lips as I was staring intently at myself in the mirror. I brushed my long wavy brown hair using my own fingertips. I plastered a smile on my face when I got satisfied with my looks. I turned around so I could see my whole body. The strapless dress I borrowed from my cousin fits my perfectly curved body so well!

  God, I’m so gorgeous!

I even did a finger-heart at the mirror before I turned around to call my driver.

“Jed, let’s go!” I yelled at my brother who was doing his things upstairs. He’ll be the one to drive me off to Villarosa’s company since I don’t have a personal driver yet.

I have a meeting with Vicky, my colleague who happens to have an upper rank than me. Well, I’m her apprentice because I'm newly recruited but I know I can overtop her, maybe not now but sooner.

We’re working on a secret organization as agents. It’s hidden, every move we do is. Well, it’s somehow complicated but I enjoy every mission a lot! I get the chance to have money while doing missions, being witty is the key, of course.

Every month, there is a set of names to be posted on our headboard. Names could be business tycoons, famous actors, and rich politicians. There are particular tasks in every name and we are the ones who can choose which task we are going to do. Each mission has a corresponding price. You’ll get it once you accomplish it.

“Yeah. Coming,” Jed replied in a lazy tone.

He was poker-faced when he went downstairs. His chinky black eyes were pierced into mine when he saw my whole body. His forehead creased in an instant.

No one in my family knows about me being part of a hidden organization except for my cousin, Olivia, who’s the one who had recruited me in this field.

  And of course, my brother!

I don’t want my parents to get involved with my messy stuff and so it better be left unsaid.

“What’s with the dress?” Jed asked as if he’s a strict dad.

Instead of answering his nonsense question, I rolled my eyes at him. “Hurry up! I’m getting late!”

“That’s too revealing. You better change.”

I gave him a deathly glare, gesturing to him to shut his mouth and stop questioning my alluring outfit.

Hell, this is so perfect! There’s no way I’d change my dress for Pete’s sake!

“Fine,” he muttered in a rough tone, probably pissed off. “Don’t you ever complain if someone harassed you for wearing that stupid dress, Jecel?”

I just rolled my eyes. This revealing outfit has a purpose! This is what we call an asset. I smirked at my thoughts. I planned to get a mission after a meeting with Vicky that’s why I’m wearing an elegant dress.

I got inside the car we had also borrowed from Olivia. Good thing, they are really rich. It’s easy for me to get the things I need. All thanks to Olivia. Jed started the car and we left the house locked.

Our Mom and Dad were not around, they were residing in another country and that’s a good thing. We’re not on good terms anyway. I hate how manipulative they are so we better separate ways than to live under one roof.

I was browsing my phone to see my notes and checklists when a chat head popped on my screen, making me distracted. My ever-annoying friend who happened to be my colleague, Almira, sent a message just to ask if she could phone me. It’s weird why she can’t just call me without asking for my permission? As if I would decline the call.

“Er, what made you call?” I commenced, irritation can be heard in my tone.

I’m busy monitoring my notes and I don’t have time for her stupid errands! If she could only see me right now, I would wholeheartedly roll my eyes at her.

“What’s with the tone? Are you not happy that I still care for you? I have news for you and you must be glad for my call.” She sounded like I should be thankful for answering her call and that slightly pisses me off.

“Oh, come on, Almira. Just tell me what you need. I have no time with your crazy stuff. I’m on the way to Villa―”

“I got hot news from our bulletin board! A new set of targets are posted!” she cut me off, making me interested. “And guess what? I’ve found a mission that will suit your taste!”

“What and who?” I looked at my fancy fingernails. I think I have to go for a manicure, my nails are getting dull.

“The target will be the next CEO of their family business and I bet, you would like him!” she exclaimed, making me frown though she couldn’t see me.

Uh, businessman. I hate guys like them. They were naturally boastful, self-centered, and whatnots. I’m not interested. I would rather look for a mission affiliated with models, actors, or old men.

“I know you won’t say no. He’s damn hot and rich! And, oh, you’ll be surprised!”

“For what?” I replied, getting impatient for her cliffhang. “Will I earn dollars for that guy you’re talking about? You know, Almira, don’t―”

“Bitch, he’s Charlie Mortel, a grandson of a businessman from the North Company!” she squealed.

My eyes widened in disbelief as I was trying to figure out where I heard that name. “Mortel? The family of a―”

“Yes, bitch. You heard it right. So what are you waiting for? Change your route right now and bring home the target! Their company will be having a welcome party for Charlie tonight. Boss Shawl and Vicky would be damn glad if you catch him.”

That was a good idea. Boss Shawl, our big boss, might put me into a higher rank if I’d done the task successfully. I don’t need Vicky’s opinion though. But I still have to inform her, she’s still my senior and that idea annoys me.

  “I’ll see,” I muttered.

“I’ll send the details for that mission. Thank me later, you little prick.” Almira ended the call and I was left thinking about Charlie and his business.

In a blink of an eye, I found myself browsing on my Instagram account just to check for the guy. My eyes were pierced to the hot-looking guy with snobbish eyes, wearing a black suit in his display photo.

  Charlie Mortel.

I scrolled further and my jaw was about to drop after seeing his newly bought branded car in his latest post. Woah, I bet a thousand bucks, that's worth a million dollar! How interesting he could be. A young man who’s soon to inherit his family business is so fascinating.

I got a message from Almira and my eyes widened for the price I could receive if I’ll get to accomplish the mission. Amazing. And the tasks are not that hard. I know I can manage it well.

  “Hey, Vicky.”

I called Vicky through the phone. I heard the noise coming from her background but I didn’t bother to ask her where’s that coming from. Maybe she’s driving or whatnots.

“Hey, what’s up? I’m on the way. Where are you at?” she asked using her signature boastful tone.

Vicky is a bit boyish. She’s not a typical agent, in fact, she’s in the top three on our rankings. Imagine a hundred secret agents and she’s included in the top list! That's worth a hundred thousand bucks and I can’t wait to be one of them!

Being in the 50th kinda pisses me off. It’s way too far from the top so I got to make a way to have my missions well accomplished. I want to overtop Vicky and anyone who’s higher than me!

“Leave the top mission to me,” I stated in a monotone, making Vicky chuckle.

“You mean the newly posted one?” she asked in disbelief.

  “Yes, I’ll take it.”

“You serious? That’s about the North Company, Charlie Mortel, a grandson of the biggest business tycoons in the city. That will be a tough one.”

She still has the audacity to explain it to me as if I’m not aware. Who wouldn’t know about Mortels? They are well-known in the country! And I can do my job well!

“As if I’m kidding. I’m damn serious. I can do it on my own.”

“Well, fine. I’ll tell Boss Shawl.” Her remark made me smile.

I know Boss Shawl would be impressed with me. I’m still a newbie in this field yet I’m rising and willing to take risks.

“Good luck, Jecel,” I could hear the sarcasm in her tone but I just shrugged it off.

“Cancel our meeting. I’ll report on the next day.”

“Noted, bitch.” And I was the one who ended up the call.

Gosh, the new target is locked! I’m freaking excited to meet my new prey.

“Jed, let’s turn right. We’re gonna crash a party,” I commanded without a doubt. A smirk was planted on my lips in an instant.

  Jecel will top the list!
