Jasmine POV

I know what your thinking. I am the Princess from Aladdin. You couldn't be further from the truth. Matter of a fact I am just an ordinary girl. I am 18 and finally escaping my toxic family. My mother died when I was seven and after that my father became abusive, my brother followed, and soon after my stepmother joined in.

My dad remarried 6 months after mom's death. I cried for days on end. I couldn't understand why they hurt me night after night and blamed me for mom's death. So here I am 18 and tired of countless sleepless nights, worried that I am going to be harmed in some way shape or form. I packed my suitcase with clothes, shoes, anything I had left that I could take. I made sure to take my mothers photos as well.

I finally ran away from home to a new city at least 3 hours away from home. I found a park and it was very large. I hid in a large storm drain and slept for a couple of days in that hole. I had enough money hidden from birthdays and Christmas that I could make it last a few months. Once it was gone I had no idea what to do. The bus took a bit of my money otherwise I could have lasted a lot longer.

A couple of months passed on this way sleeping between benches and storm drains to stay hidden as much as possible. Finally I had just had enough and I was so tired my whole body ached from the cold wet rain that had gone on consistently. I wrapped up in my blankets and made a pillow for myself. I fell asleep feeling drained and weak. As I drifted I could feel my energy draining dramatically. I don't know how long I slept when I woke up it was dark.

I made my way to a place where I could go shower and warm my body up a bit more. I stood in the shower a lot longer than I probably should have. The heat cranked up all the way on the water. Slowly getting dressed feeling the warmth slowly leaving my body. Finally I was in warm clothes and my hair braided back. As I walked out into the cold I wrapped myself with my blanket to contain the warmth of my body left.

I made my way for the nearest park finding a bench under a tree the storm thundered on but no rain had fallen yet. The sidewalk remained untouched from the rain. Yet waiting for the water to rain down upon it as the street drains were still draining all the water running through them over the past month. As the night went on I shivered with cold chills fearing the worst of being sick on my own. All the street lights faded away into darkness as I laid there wrapped up in my blanket on the park bench. I was unsure how late it was whenever I felt a stranger pick me up from the park bench.

The feeling of his body warmth I snuggled in deep I couldn't help but take in the deep musky cologne he wore. I've never felt more relaxed than in his arms. For some reason I had a safety sense with him and I don't understand why. After all shouldn't I fear men after what I've been through. This man remains a mystery to me as to why I'm not afraid of him. I felt my blanket being ripped away from my body only to be replaced by a new one as he held me close.

I heard the humming noise of what sounded like a car. I felt the vibration of the car making me sleep deeper. It seemed to last a short while. I woke up enough to see my savior. He was definitely built, I could feel his muscles beneath his shirt. His body heat warming up as a door to a huge house was opened.

As soon as I felt the bed, feeling more like a cloud I was back asleep. I felt a new blanket fresh from the dryer and a washcloth soaked with hot water. Soon after I felt a very muscular body lay next to me on the bed, I began to wake up slowly. When I woke up I saw a man in an all black suit. He had dark brown hair, and was very handsome. I began to slowly look around and sit up.

" Wow... wow.. wow... Don't get up. Please stay lying down. Your sick... ummm... Ms. I don't want you to get worse," said the gentleman.

I did as he said, but I cuddled up next to him in his arms. He seemed stunned more so than ever when I did that. Thank you I whispered. I felt his arms wrap around me more and held me closer and tighter. I fell back asleep knowing tonight I would be safe for tonight. For the rest of the night I slept soundly.

Mark POV

It was just another Friday night. I decided to go for a walk in the park even though the storm was rolling in. It helped me when I made phone calls. When I saw her.... She was beautiful. She had beautiful auburn hair and it was long even though it was braided back. I could see bruises fading away that she was trying to hide as she wrapped herself in a big blanket and laid down under a tree on a bench.

When I walked over to her she was asleep. She looked sick and beaten up. I felt for her and didn't want her by herself. I saw she had a couple of bags and I made a quick call to my driver. He pulled up to where I was and helped me get her bags into the car. Once I had her things settled into the car I took her to the car fast as the rain poured down hard.

Her blanket was soaked, and I quickly ripped away her soaked blanket replacing it with a warm dry blanket. My driver away from the curb once I got her settled. When we got home I had plenty of people to help bring in all of her things. I quickly rushed her into my room laying her softly on my bed. The doctor rushed into my room shortly after. He had warm blankets, wash cloths, and his bag of doctor supplies.

Her temperature was sitting at 100.5, she shivered without the blankets on her. We quickly covered her up with a blanket straight from the dryer. The doctor did other examinations and could tell she had seen every kind of abuse possible. She endured it until she had enough and most likely ran away. The brushes were dark enough he could tell it had been months since she had been beaten. She was going to be frail for a while.

He added a wash cloth to her forehead with hot water and we began to warm her up. She had tears slipping down her face. She was in a lot of pain and sickness. She needed lots of rest. The doctor told me to watch her and make sure there were no other changes other than the temperature going down. She cuddled up closer to me and for some reason I felt like she was at ease with me.

She has no idea who I am but she feels at ease and I can't imagine what she has been through. Here she is looking at Peace. It brought a smile to my face that I haven't had in a long long time. Not since before my twin sister and her child died in childbirth. She seems like a strong individual just like her.

She was gorgeous, and she seemed angelic.

After about an hour later she began to move around and wake up slowly. Her Auburn hair still pulled back into a braided, bright blue eyes shined bright, and a faint bruise fading away around her eye. How could anyone do that to her. As she stirred more, she tried to sit up. Wow...... wow....lay down you need to rest. I can get whatever you need.

She slowly laid back down and cuddled back up with me. She Smiled as I wrapped my arms around her and whispered in her ear to go back to sleep. shortly after I fell asleep as I wrapped my arms around her.
