"Give me your hand and let me rescue your heart from drowning, let us not leave some words unsaid. I want you to open up next to me and all your secrets will become my truth, the distance that was sheltering you comes in full view. I WANT YOU TO BREATH AGAIN." By Posh. K

"Mom!." Adira called. She was heartbroken when she heard what her mom was about to do, how could she allow this to happen.

"Adira, my child if I do not marry that man you will have to drop school and all your dreams will come to an end."

Tears dropped from Asta, Adira's mother she could not sit still and see her daughter's dreams vanish like that. "Adira, remember what we promised your father."

"Mom, dad will understand." Adira's eyes filled with tears. If only we did not go to the rides if only we stayed at home and watch movies, dad Will still be alive.

That night was supposed to be filled with smiles and laughter but the opposite happened. Adira could still remember vividly.

Adira came back from school, she was very happy so happy that she could study in a prestigious school.

When she told her father that she got a scholarship. Her father welled up with tears. "My pretty girl is so smart." Her dad, Kano John, Pinched her cheeks.

"Of course I'm Kano John's daughter," Adira said. "Dad, now we will fulfill our dreams alright?." She said grinning from ear to ear.

"Dad you will support me right?." She asked looking all serious. "Yes, my princess I will walk with you and see you stand on top of the world." He smiled gently looking at her lovingly pinching her adorable cheeks.

"Promise?." Adira asked. "Yes, promise." But after few hours her dad left the world and the promise he made was broken.

"Dad you are a liar you promised to stay by my side but you broke it." Adira cried out loud.

"Mom, dad lied to me why did he have to do It, why did he lie and how will I fulfill the promise alone." Adira choked on her tears.

Her mom could not stand to see Adira cry so much that it pricked her heart. "Mom I don't want to go to school, okay, and you will not have to marry anyone.

I will help you do domestic work and we will finish faster. And when I grow up a little I will find a meaningful job to do.

You don't have to get married to anyone." Adira's mom could not stand to hear all the nonsense that Adira was spouting.

  "PAW"

She raised her hand and gave Adira a hard slap, that even her hand hurt from the slap. She winced in pain.

Even Adira herself was shocked staring at her mom with teary eyes. That was her first slap ever since she was born. She knows that she was wrong to say all those things.

But she could not sit and see her mom marry another man. Her mother was shaking with anger. "What nonsense are you spouting, do you want to be like me, huh? Adira you can do better than me, I do not want you to suffer.

My enemies will laugh at me, how will I answer to your father and I will fail as a mother. I will be good for nothing." Adira shook her head.

"No, mom you are the best mom ever, please do not say that." She hugged her mom tightly.

"My child one day you will understand. That man wants to marry me and I have to agree and you will also have a father." She caressed Adira's hair.

"But mom you do not love him, you love dad," Adira said. "Love, what is love Adira? You are just twelve years old you should only love yourself more. Sometimes we do things just for the sake of security."

"Adira!." Mr. Parker called. Adira has been recollecting about the bitter past. She was startled.

She stared at the man who was calling her. "You did well, you got an internship, you are such a brilliant child." Mr. Parker smiled. His smiles were gentle and warm.

"Thank you, uncle," Adira said. Years have passed but she still could not bring herself to call him father. Even if she wanted to, Mr. Parker's real daughter would not allow it. Only her biological sister was born after the marriage of her mom and Mr. Parker. Inara was allowed to call him dad.

Inara was her late father's daughter. Adira loved Inara so much, she was a free soul. Adira could not get along well with her stepsister, Bliss Parker but her stepbrother Zale Parker who seem to be cold they could get along very well surprisingly.

Adira Parker is a very reserved girl, who could not voice out her thoughts she would only keep thoughts in her heart.

'This is not my home.' She always thought like that. And that is what she has been telling herself.

Adira always wanted to leave this big mansion, she was content even if she lived in a small house.

After her father's death, the company went bankrupt, even now Adira could not let go of the past. Ever since she stepped into the Parker residence everything had changed.

She could not even recognize her mother. Her mother has changed. When she read her books she would think of her.

Her mother no longer treated her as her daughter. She would get scolded. Her mother now adored Jewelry and her siblings, As to why she was doing all that Adira couldn't understand

Therefore she always thought maybe her mom got carried away because of money, Adira always worked hard on her studies, she wanted to get a job and win over her mom.

Bliss was about to enter her father's study room. She stopped halfway. And eavesdrop on their conversation.

'Hmph! She thinks that she is better than anyone, this girl is so troublesome.'
