  Love and Wolf

Jamis knew it was time to move on when everyone around him in his former pack was finding their mates and having upon litters of children. He also knew that his body couldn't handle anymore and he'd die alone at the rate he was going. While it would have been alright with him, the need to mate became strong and overtook him more than his need to find a willing body to release himself into.

The call was more than he could bear and it was time. He would be what was considered a more seasoned Enforcer than the young men that joined but he was just as capable if not more stronger. That was why he had put his notice in with his supervisors and let his Elders know he was heading back home to Siberia. He enjoyed the cold and mountains that he called home and though their territory sat close to where the Vampires resided, he enjoyed the open air.

It was his wolf blood that called to him and he would soon love the free feeling once his wolf was whole with him.

He arrived home, his parents waiting for him with his brothers and sisters all mated and his nieces and nephews running free like the wild children they were. He was greeted with hugs and being the middle child of six, he was glad to he home.

Jamis was sitting in the Oracle's home as he watched the elderly woman shake her bones in a bowl and then let them roll onto a mat that had what he would describe as scribbles and gibberish.

He never questioned the oracles as they for the most part told truths. Even though they may have slightly looked eccentric, they were sought out for reasons and that was why he was there.

The clan oracles from he was told loved to be alone and preferred to not have mates. They were basically crazy and had the curse to foresee things others couldn't. He couldn't imagine everything about people running through their minds constantly and that's why he didn't judge them too harshly. That was probably why he didn't blink an eye when the oracle slashed his palm and took his blood into a bowl.

The red velvet liquid rushed down his palms into the bowl and he mentally cringed when she brought the bowl up to her face but he was relieved when she took a whiff.

Her hair was matted into dreads and though their was grey in her hair, she could have been mistaken as a hippy hobo who had seen better days.

Jamis watched her quietly as she took a necklace with a heavy pendant and dropped the tear drop pendant into his blood. It looked like the pendant drank it in because what was once clear and white turned red and enveloped the liquid as if it was drinking it up.

On the table, he watched her lean over what looked to be an ancient drawn out map and the pendant swung over the map in circles and circles as he watched her blackened elderly lips chant.

Fast and faster the necklace and pendant moved as if it truly was possessed and almost abruptly stopped at a location in the States.

Jamis had Been in the force long enough to know the States well as many Source Members immigrated there and his job took him there often when Source Members stepped out of line.

The map seem to move as if it was digital and in a way zoomed in closer to show him the West Coast of the United States. Even closer, the map zoomed in more like it was a GPS and the locations became more and more pronounced and stopped in what he knew to be California. Los Angeles to be exact. He glanced over at the Oracle who watched him with her light clouded over eyes.

"Is that it?" He asked the woman and she cocked her head at him. "That is all that you need to know. The rest only the fates can decide." She told him and he tried to take that in but Los Angeles had a lot of people in it. Where was he even supposed to start. The cryptic words of the Oracle didn't help him one bit but it did give him a place to start. From what he knew from other mates was that your body just knew when someone was yours. If you thought that you had an attraction to someone, the mating attraction was stronger and everything came alive. It was as if everything clicked into place and gears turned.

When he would meet his mate, his wolf would know immediately.
