“I’m sorry for the sadden news your majesty,” The royal physician spoke in a weakened voice bringing the unearthly news to the King.

“You are not to tell Queen understand any circumstance, do you understand.” The snapped banging his hand down onto the arm of the throne.

Sometimes things happen at just the right time.

Prince Shen Jun seem to have forgotten his position in the kingdom.

King was just informed that Shen had ran off with out word to anyone, it’s not the first time he’s disappeared, but to worry his mother who’s currently in a sickly bed ridded state.

King shakes his head despising the immature man that never seems to want to grow up and that responsibilities for anything.

“Make a call to the South and East side rails, it’s time to force his hand…” King orders only made the physician shake in fear as he rushed out the room.

On the other side of the city in a small hotel overlooking the ocean side.

The natural light shined through the white sham curtains, wicker chairs in the sitting room off the entrance green cushions on the sofas and stool seats. The coffee and side tables were light brown and polished brightly. Magazines and books spread out around the flower center piece.

A shaggy rug welcome the beach and relief feeling as Jun walked up to the desk to check in.

“Check in, reservations for Shen Jun…” the host smiled taking his ID and information for the room, but her smile quickly changed.

“Is something wrong?” Jun said hoarsely wanting to hit the after before sundown.

“I need to ask you to sit down, the manger will come and speak with you promptly.” Jun glared as he turned knocking a small woman down.

“Sorry,” he barked with ease pulling her to her feet, then walked unto the sitting area.

Huffing as he sat down crossing his arms and legs.

After chatting with the management Jun was sent away with a rage, last time he wanted far his sick mother to worry about him at a time like this.

Rushing back to the castle was all he could do, seeing maids and servants stand at the doorway sad and in tears. The faces they made at him only confirmed his worst fears.

“Shen…” running down the hall from the entrance to the Queens care room.

“Mom!” Shen slowly walked over to the lady laying on the bed.

The sun light was dim enough to light the room, a large luxurious room with cream and gold walls. A dark wooden four-post bed sitting in the middle of the room, with white blankets. Medical equipment on the side of the bed where the body laid stiff and cold. Blankets covered from foot to head, Shen noticed her hand hanging off the side.

Taking her hand into his as tears streamed down his face.

“I’m sorry Mom, I’m sorry…, I didn’t do as you asked, and I let my pride get the best of me.” Shen wiped the tears from his face. The stayed silent Doctor and King stood in the doorway watching as Shen leaned down kissing his mother’s hand before sobbing heavily.

A week later Shen stayed locked in the study surrounded by books and royal decreed, this and that needing attention. Maids came and went, but not once did he touch his food.

“Sir would you like another menu I’m sure you must be starving?”

  “Please just leave me alone,”

  “But…”

“I SAID LEAVE!” Shen’s voice boomed even into the halls, as the young lady ran out huffing and crying holding the serving tray tightly.

“Why are you doing this?” King stood in the doorway watching his son scramble to read and sign papers, piles of folders lined the desk needing review and carefully decisions.

“I wasn’t here before, but now I am.” Shen said not looking at his father.

“You never once wanted to be in this room, it took for her to leave for you to straighten up.” King knew the words were harsh and unnecessary, but at the state of his son now, it won’t be long before he too is dead.

“It’s my choice.” Shen knew that if he dived into his work things would be easier for him to forget.

“Not really, you were born into this family, but that doesn’t mean you have the crown…” he stopped looking up to his father with a perplexed look,

“So why am I here then?” he could only hold back his anger.

“Because you are my son and I need you to pass on the heritage.” Shen stood to his feet angry enough to throw something.

“I don’t want to marry or have children; you need to stop trying to force me to do that.”

“If I had to do it, so will you. Love doesn’t exist in this world and you know it.” He snapped throwing a pile of papers to the floor before leaving Shen standing there completely stunned.

It’s true King and Queen married for reasons of arrangement, but when Shen was born, they fell in love completely and this was the King’s way of lashing out over losing the love of his life.

The next day Shen was requested to the throne stopped as he noticed the women sitting on the couch drinking tea.

“King?” he sat confused, King only smiled and said

“This is Aroon Chatmanee from the South Kingdom, and Asnee Chimlin from the East Kingdom.”

“How could you bend so low to do this?”

  “It is the future…”

“no, it’s your idea of future; I don’t want to be imprisoned like this.” Shen snapped running out of the room, in his room he snapped racking his hands through his head trying to get grips of what his father was thinking and failing to figure it out.

Now that he has no real reason to be here, he did the same thing that he’s always done when it came to making a disappearance.

  Packing his bag and leaving…

With the compass his mother came him, he ran off.
