"Get her, now!."

Madeleine kept running in circles as monks clothed in orange leather pursued her. It got to a point where she didn't know where to creep into anymore, the monks were smiling triumphantly now, Maddy sighed and looked out of the window. She analyzed that if she jumped now, she would be able to reach down without hurting herself, she smirked.

Before the monk knew what was happening, Maddy had already taken off, landing safely on the concrete floor. She made a funny look at them and turned.

That was when she bumped into Master Nir

"Oh shit!."

The monk up at the building laughed at her. Master Nir has been her coach for as long as she lived. He was one person that she can never get rid of.

She hit her forehead and said, "Can't you let me go just for a second?."

A nun appeared behind him and scolded her, "You're so stubborn. You can't escape from here, Maddy. You are not meant to leave outside these walls."

Master Nir grabbed her arm roughly and she winced, "I'm a woman, handle me with care."

She yelled, trying to scamper out of his grip but the more she tried to, the more he hurt her arm like crazy.

Opening the large wooden doors to Mother superior's chamber, the other nun bowed and Maddy rolled her eyes.

Nevertheless, the woman turned sharply to look at her.

"This is the 205th time you're trying to escape and have never succeeded. You'll be locked into the farthest room unless I ask you to be brought out. Do I make myself clear?."

Maddy's eyes raised at the news. The farthest room is the darkest room in the convent. It only has a bed and it's just like a prison. Maddy has been there plenty of times and she hated the place, it was the only punishment she hated to receive.

"No, Mother Superior, don't do this to me. Okay, I'll change, I promised to change."

The Abbess shook her head and smacked her lips, "You've already promised that countless times. Take her away and wait for my words."

Master Nir bowed and began dragging her away. She kept yelling and her cries fell to deaf ears.

Maddy was thrown into the darkroom and her doors were chained. She fell on the floor and shouted angrily, "I'll get you, I'll kill you."

Maddy never minded if those cursed words were abominations to the nuns. Madeleine is a seventeen years old teenager, very strong and intelligent.

She is a gifted child, who knows exactly how to do everything. She's very beautiful, dazzling mixed brown to blonde curled up hair and beautiful blue eyes.

This was exactly her home since she was born, the convent is situated in the farthest part of the earth, on top of a mountain, far away in Greece.

In all seventeen years of her life, she had never seen the outside world. She was trapped with the nuns.

Yet, she was civilized, unknown to the nuns, Maddy was very popular in the cities and villages. She has lots of money, had people working for her, she had books, 2 laptops, and a lot of phones hidden away in a box under her bed.

Madeleine can not be able to escape because she was given the most attention. She can never leave her room and if she does, it'd be with numerous guards-monks following her around.

None knew why she was being guarded this way and she never cared. She never cared about her family, she only wanted to be alone, in her own world.

~Two hours later~

Food was brought to her door, the door opened and Master Nir pushed her food to her.

"You can't do this, Master Nir. Why would you allow them to do this to me?."

Nir sighed and answered her, "It is totally out of my hands. Although I've spoken to the Abbess, she didn't heed to my pleas."

"How long will she keep me?. This fucking godforsaken place smells like shit!." She said, feeling suffocated.

"Language, young lady."

"I don't fucking care!."

Master Nir hit his forehead and breathed out tiredly. There was silence between the both of them.

"I brought you a friend." He said quietly and turned away. Melissa, Maddy's best friend appeared beside Nir. She had been there, listening to both of them.

"Mel. Have you been there?."

Melissa looked sad. Melissa had been the only one bold enough to come close to her. Other nuns saw her as a freak and stubborn but Melissa was the only one to understand her.

Melissa was an orphan, she was taken to the convent after the fire burned down the church at Kalambáka. Melissa wished to leave the convent soon but she was not as bold as Maddy.

If Maddy can't escape from the nuns, who is she to even try?.

"Yes. I'm so sorry, I mean I thought your plans will go well this time."

"Well, if not for that useless Agnes. She saw my escape route."

"You know sister Agnes has been asked to watch over you. Now, what's the next plan?."

"I cannot think while staying in this place. Did you bring my book?."

"Of course."

Mandy whined, "I can never leave this place, will I?."

Melissa lifted her skirt and took out a big book, the size of the biggest bible. She gave her a torchlight too and held her hand.

"I don't know. May God be with you."

Melissa asked her, "Have you ever thought about why you're in this place?."

She rolled her eyes, "Well. I don't care."

Master Nir whispered, "We have to leave now. Remember, you're never to receive visitors."

Melissa ignored him and said, "You have to think about it, Mandy. Why are you guided this way?. Is there anyone trying to get you killed?. Why is the world dangerous for you?."

Mandy bit her lower lip, a gesture she does when in thoughts.

Melissa reluctantly let go and her door was locked again. She put on the torchlight, dragged her feet to the bed, and began reading.
