Au Lait, a cafe with an edgeless ocean view, located right across them roadblock where sometimes wave splashing against the window as it crash on stones. It goes by booking system where people should make an appointment for reservation days before. They said it is to keep the quality and customer's satisfaction.

There isn't much people in this evening. Only some table occupied by couple enjoying their free time before lunch. On the corner, Megan White sit with both his laptop and phone, wearing white t-shirt under blue bomber. Meg—that what people called him, shooter a wash jeans and white cap with NY logo as the compliment.

"You want anything else?" Baron—the barista came to greet her.

Megan gave him her confused look. Baron points at the untouched dishes in front her. She's pretty sure the coffee already went cold.

"Uh," she chuckled "it's okay, Baron. You know me, I'm prefer something less hot."

Baron nodded. He's spent twenty years to know enough what she likes or not. "Then, want something more special for lunch?"

"Your lasagna. I kinda miss it." Her eyes twinkle as she imagine the layer of bechamel sauce with slices of meat and vegetables.

Baron rolled his eyes with amusement. "I get it."

"Oh, make sure to throw away any garlic in my dish, Baron." Said her which get a laugh from the man.

"You ain't no kid anymore, Meg." And Baron finally left.

Megan sighed loudly before her phone on the table vibrating. She turn on the airbuds on her ears.

"Halo."

[Megan, where the hell are you?"]

Yup. Definitely not Nesa. The girl has been called him countless time since this morning and at this rate, Megan know that someone else would take over the phone just to make sure she'll answer it. And obviously it must be a 'Derek'.

"I told you, am I not, Mr. director. Don't use my assistant as your shield," said Megan calmly. Her eyes focused on the screen, make sure any word was typed correctly by her fingers.

[Come on, Megan. You can't cancel the contract just because some nonsense.]

That's made something in Megan shift. She closed the notebook and lean back to a more comfortable position before take a sip of his now cold double shot Expresso.

"I told you since the beginning, Derek. There will no any changes on my script. Are you deaf or what?"

Megan stab the tiramisu with fork. Make sure to forced down the fury in her vein as she let the bittersweet melt in her mouth. A sighed could be heard from the other side of call.

[Fine, you win. Do anything like i care but get your little ass here as fast as you can.]

"Give the phone back to Nesa," said Megan with an amused tone.

["Meg?"]

"What happen?" Asked her.

["The crew and artists are refuse to work. They know you're out of this project."]

Oh, poor Nesa. The girl talked in hushed voice which mean Derek were still there. So she decided to lessen Nesa's pain a bit. "Twenty minutes."

She put down her phone with a loud thud. A desperate groan could be heard second after. Megan knew form the start that she shouldn't worked with Derek. That man was known as a ruthless director and loved to tinkering with his writer's script. All this time Derek worked with newbies, so it's kind of easy for him to pressured them and made them reluctantly accept the fact that their script they spent days and nights to write was turned into a cheap sappy romance close to pornography which only played at midnight and of course, with 21+ rate.

Sadly said, this time Derek was met with Megan who immediately reject any his plan. For Megan, an art should be enjoyable from the visual and audio. She put the storyline as priority and not depending on spice scene just for attracted some low people.

The fight between her and Derek, obviously was hers to win as the investors and producers fully support her. Megan's reputation as the box office screen writer is enough to keep the others on her side rather than Derek.

"Where are you going?" Asked Baron as he saw Megan packing her things.

"Work."

"Just wait for another ten minutes. Your lasagna almost done. I could pack it for you to bring along and eat it there."

Megan shook her head. "No need. I don't want to share. Just put it in my room. I'll eat it when I get back."

Megan's condo is on the third floor of this building. Well, this building is hers to begin with where the first floor for the cafe and second floor for Baron's.

"Alright, take care." Baron knew Megan was hurried because that just how she is whenever she needs to go to the location. "Text me when you're on the way back."

Megan nodded and waved to Baron's before left the cafe to where she parked the car. She took a glance of her appearance at the rear mirror and hum. Nothing special, just panda's eyes as always showing how much sleep she missed these past days. Her silk blue Crossover SUV hit the road with above average speed as the road was quiet clear. It usually takes around thirty minute more or less in busy hours though.

Megan's concentration was disturbed as the phone she hooked on the dashboard ringing again. With a tsked she slide to answer. What with people and their low patient value these days.

["Meg, where ar—"]

"I'm on my fucking way, Nes," she grunted.

["I just want to tell you that the investors is here and now Derek is on his way to badmouthing you."]

Meg rolled his eyes. "Well, it's Derek for you."

["Meg! You didn't see how annoying Derek's face right now."]

_Again. It's Derek! What did you expect?_ But it left unsaid as she turn her wheel for last crossroad.

"I'm there in five. Wait me at the entrance, will you?"

["Okay."]

Little did she know, she would never be there in five. Cause from the other side of road there's another car speeding up to her. She pressed the hons a few times hoping that maybe whoever behind the wheel would aware. But nothing happened and Megan swerved her wheel seconds before the red sedan crashed against her blue SUV.

BRAK! CRACK.

The sedan turn in the air twice before fell into a field at the roadside. And when Megan opened her eyes, everything was upside down. She tried to open the seatbelt but the impact had made it stuck. Voices started gathered around her along the sound of siren and roars told people to step away from the cars.

"Here!" Shouted someone close enough to made Megan's ear ringing. "Quick! Someone's injured in there."

Hm? Injured? Oh right, she is injured. Blood started to pooling under his head, staining the roof of his car with red. Megan couldn't raised her hands either. A hint of white was shown on the junction between her hands and arms. It's definitely broken.

"Give me hammer."

"Push on three."

"One. Two. Three!"

Door's creaking open was the last thing Megan heard before everything around her turned black and she fell into a dreamless sleep.
