A/N: ~~~ means a change of perspective or POV

'All is fair in love and war.' Says who?

There is anything but fair in this unjust world. There is always someone who has an advantage, a leverage among others; someone who far better than the other, someone superior. Such superior will lay waste upon the masses of those unprivileged commons, for they will stride above them with glory they thought they have, with charm and regal radiating through their bodies, but in reality, it is but darkness that emits from them for their superiority blocks the sunrays of hope and tomorrow.

They are intimidating in a way that no one would oppose. In their heads and own world, they show this kind eyes that is full of compassion and sympathy as they look down upon us as if such attention is already a blessing from them. They thought their hands which are open is full of kindness that giving in to it would give a care that is out of this world. They thought they that they are sharing the things that they have received, because they are that caring superiors who promised the people to be lead to a better tomorrow.

~~~
But I will never fall victim to their schemes, for I know their true color all along. After all, evil knows its own kind.
I have yet to know if they already knew who I really am or just playing dumb, but I know for sure that I am playing a very dangerous game of pretend, that I am locked up from the outside world, that this monsters won't let me get away, that my presence won't be enough for them much longer and they would want more; and I know that the only way for me to escape in this dangerous game that we orchestrated is to win against them.
This is both terrifying and thrilling at the same time. I can't help but feel tingles and butterflies in my stomach for such excitement. But I must control my expression— this is a game of pretend— I must act like that same powerless girl who is too naive to notice anything: like one of them put a sleeping drug in my drink.
But why and how did I get here in the first place? It's such a cliché thing to be honest. They are a superior: 5 dominant boys who had everyone charmed with their looks and character, everyone except me. I know who they are, I know that they are pretending, living up to the standards of others that is plastered in them to the point that they had created a world in their heads that embodies those standards, a world where they are the perfect being.
And I am that unfortunate ordinary girl who they have taken interest. I am that typical wallflower who rarely talks and doesn't get a lot of attention, would stay in a less crowded areas and someone who doesn't have any friends. Maybe it's those reasons why they have taken me as their prey— if not knowing that I am as evil as they are— maybe it's because no one will look for me if I ever disappear, maybe because I am the perfect play thing in their eyes— the perfect deer to chase in the woods where no one will hear my screams of help.
Maybe it's those things that got me here. It is, unfortunately fortunate.
"Why haven't you drank your tea my dear?" asked the red eyed one. He is the most dominant of them all,
"Oh my, you're right—" I said and picked up the cup, and dumped it to the nearby plants, "— but I don't like it." Said with a bratty and sarcastic tone, it seems I have flipped their switch. Al of us sitting in a round table drinking tea as if they didn't forcefully taken me a while ago, as if everything was okay. Was I really that good at pretending or they are just dumb?
Veins seem to pop in their foreheads, and I am sure they are enraged. I must get away of bad things will surely happen.
"I'll just stroll in the rose maze, don't bother to look for me, I'll surely return. And don't worry, I won't try to escape, I'm sure you've planned this very well that there won't be any loopholes for me to use." I said with the fakest smile and left them, all silent. All eyes wide open and mouths hanging agape, because how could an ordinary girl who was just scared to death a while ago, is now talking to them with much sarcasm and confidence enough to leave them speechless.
Have they chosen a wrong prey then? Was she a not a prey, but a hunter instead?
They were all baffled as to what the girl had just presented to them. They all whispered to each other as if discussing the steps they've made in their plan. Was there a fault? Did they chose the wrong victim? Or were they tricked? Is she more evil than them? Were they blinded by their pure affection for the girl that they have missed a vital information about her? They were all running in circles with their questions.
But how could they have doubt her? She appeared to them sitting in the corner like an adorable and docile prey, peacefully living her life without any trouble; and they just have to disturb her life, they just have to keep her for themselves for they see her such a treasure, such a pure being that has to be protected from this dirty outside world— from this world that they have created.
"She has to be mine." They all uttered with a growl. And that is when the game of pretend turned for the worse. But she was ready for this. This is what she was aiming all along.
~~~

"This is sure to be fun." I whispered to myself as I strolled around the rose maze, carefully remembering the turns I had made. Even though I have been strolling leisurely in this maze full of full bloomed roses, basking my nostrils with their sweet scent, I still have to be alert of my surroundings, even if I am admiring such a place

built for hunting. I have to be alert of every sound: snapping twigs, rustling bushes or even that shallow breath of these self-proclaimed superior hunters who seemed to have gone feral; I must keep tracks of all this or else it would be my demise.

But I still can't help but to giggle slightly— call me sadistic but— this is so fun.

As I arrived at the center of the maze where a gazebo is located, I have confirmed that my plan is working well— they really have gone feral— for one of them, a blue eyed one, is standing at the gazebo looking at me with dark expression and eyes glinting with hunting instincts as if he was ready to pounce on me and devour me in one bite.

Too bad, the others won't let it happen.

~~~
A loud scream was heard and all four boys rushed to where it came from. They all ran from all directions of the maze, all panting and trying their best to be the first one to arrive and play the prince charming part. Their legs ran as fast as possible, even jumping atop of hedges to be faster than the others. But alas, they all arrived the same time, all sweaty and their clothes wrinkled and wet, some have leaves sticking in their hair and some have scratched in their arms from the rose thorns. But none of it bothered them, for one of them have the poor under him, crying and screaming for help. They didn't just go feral, they have gone savage.
Two boys: the green eyed and the black eyed one tackled the perpetrator so that the poor girl can get out of the misery. Punches and kicks landed to the face and stomach of the blue eyed for, such for trying to claim what he thinks is rightfully his. The two remaining boys: the red eyed and the purple eyed had given themselves task of comforting the girl. Speaking sweet nothings and the promise to be safe in their arms as the grunt and painful whines of the greedy blue eyed boys passes through their ears.
No one really bothered to question the actions of the girl: how can she go from being confident back to being scared? As if she has a switch inside her that needs to be flipped in order to change her personality.
No one really bothered to ask why she is smiling from ear to ear or why her eyes had shown the slight glint of sadistic happiness.
Of course, no one would ask. They are too drank on the thought that she is like that because of their affection that they have showered her. Too drank on the thought that she will love them since they have proven the fact that the world is dangerous and she needs to protected and they are there to do so. Too drank on the thought that somehow, she is their prey all along and that, she has accepted her faith.
Are they really that dumb to be blinded by an emotion such as love? This only made the girl smile even more.
They are still punching and kicking that blue eyed boy even though he is not moving anymore. He must've died from all the beatings. He is full of bruises and dark marks all over his body, his face is beaten so badly that he is unrecognizable: his lips are spewing blood, his left eye with a bruised purple circle around it, his nose broken and his right temple is bleeding profusely. His arms all full of wounds and scratches, his stomach must've sustained a wound too since his white shirt a while ago is now colored red. His fingers are all mangled as the two savage boys have stepped on it out of anger, his chest is no longer moving— no indication of him breathing. He seemed to really be dead.
And she can't help but smile. It is far easier to drive them insane, all she has to do is play her part in the pretend game.
As the green eyed and the black eyed boy turned their eyes, still drunk in their savagery and anger that they are still huffing and their fists are still clenched tightly that it would turn white if not for the blood covering it. Their eyes can't help but widen even more as they saw the girl in the arms of their companions who are smiling from ear to ear as the girl cried. If they only knew that her tears are fake.
Even more anger took over them as they approached the red eyed and the purple eyed boy who were tenderly hugging the girl who is slightly trembling, light sobs can be heard from her lips. This even drove them insane.
But once she had laid her beautiful eyes upon them all the intense emotions vanished, washed away but the sweet breeze of the air. In their faces had a smile so sweet, in their heads a satisfaction that they have protected the girl they love. But alas, who knew that how fast the anger vanished, the faster it will appear again.
Love really is such as dangerous thing, making you do things whether good or bad, just for the satisfaction one might feel after the act is done. And right now, this two boys are back to their savage states. Too jealous just because the two other boys comforting the girl had the chance to hold her close, caress her smooth skin, feel her curves, brush their fingers into her hair as she sobbed into their chests while they whisper sweet nothings and comforting words, the promise of protection into her ears.
This drive them crazy that even the word 'friends' doesn't exist in them anymore. To them, they are traitors just like their other 'friend' who tried to take the girl all for himself. They can't help but feel the blood rushing into their brains and coursing in their body, sending signals of 'kill' over and over again. They gritted their teeth in anger and jealousy and unknowingly approached the three laying at the ground, comforting the girl in the middle of them.
They didn't notice their footsteps turning into stomps as they got nearer and nearer until they towered over the three. Their breaths emits smoke in them, their fists turned white due to too much force and their mind is nothing but a ball of tangled black yarn in constant movement as id trying to untangle itself but only got worse. Their heartbeats in a chaotic rhythm for them have a very hard decision to make: to try their hardest to stop or just kill in front of the girl they like.
But, what could get any worse? They already killed someone in front of her... what makes it any worse?
So, without any further question or hesitation embedded in their faces, the green and the black eyed boys grabbed the other two: red and purple eyed boys, and started to beat the living shit out of them. They are livid, the only thought of jealousy in their minds and the urge to make the girls theirs and only theirs— but, will it really turn out that way?
