DAWN'S POV.

As soon as I stepped out of Mr. Jones' car, a view of the massive building greeted me, serving as a reminder that I had gotten the chance to study here.

A scholarship to one of the most prestigious colleges in the city. Everyone's dream school.

Finally, I could study freely, be myself, achieve my dreams, and maybe even meet him afterward, without anyone being insulting towards me or reminding me about my parents.

I found myself smiling wide at this thought, my heart racing.

"Are you alright, girl?" I heard Mr. Jones right from behind me, and I found myself trembling for no reason, before turning to face him.

He too had gotten out of his vehicle and was adjusting his suit.

"Yes, thank you so much, sir, for everything, especially this," I replied with a thin smile while gesturing with my free hand towards the gigantic building, my books in the other.

"I should be thanking you instead, kiddo. I owe you my life," he told me with a bright smile, reminding me of the incident which led to all this, the incident which brought me here.

He started moving towards the building, and I followed right behind him, my two hands clutching my books tightly to my chest, my head bent down towards the floor, due to the fellow students I saw walking around, and I wondered why.

'Could it be the fact that I did not belong here with them?' I wondered.

We made our way towards the Chief Accountant's office to get myself settled in, and after everything, I was handed my timetable, my hostel key, and other stuff.

The registration was pretty easy and simple, but I needed not be surprised, for it was a big shot who gave me the admission after all.

"I will be taking my leave now, Dawn," Mr. Jones informed me while turning to look at his watch, and I nodded.

"Thank you once again," I appreciated for the hundredth time, and he gave me another one of his bright smiles before departing, leaving me all alone to myself and fate.

I took in a deep breath before deciding to locate my hostel room and get settled in. I used this period to look around the school, and I was amused.

'Everywhere was so perfect and beautiful'. I thought feeling my face forming into another smile.

"I finally get to study," I muttered to myself. As I was walking trying to find the hostel, the first thing I noticed was the school had a sprawling green garden and a large ground.

The garden lay at the center and could be viewed by almost all classes. It also had comfortable communal areas where students could relax and socialize with fellow students

The vintage buildings of the school didn't fail to mesmerize me with their glorious beauty.

'Well, I should not be surprised,' I thought. The school is secluded on the Lush Hills of Octave States, where it encircles around the rich only.

Its huge building complimented the blue and yellow that painted the school walls.

It was well-equipped with all the contemporary gadgets. It was like a lighthouse of education bestowing knowledge as well as ethical conduct upon its students.

The classrooms are built in between the dormitories where students easily match and receive their daily curricular activities according to what I read on the net.

Fortunately, I am lucky enough to be enrolled in a prestigious school and gain a wonderful education, and I am looking forward to realizing my dreams.

Finally, I found the hostel building and noticed it is a mixed boarding school and has separate boys' and girls' hostels.

The boy's hostel is a few miles away from the girl's hostel. Each student belongs to a particular house named after some beautiful color, and I was in a purple house, my favorite color to be precise.

I took a deep breath and was about to knock on the door when I stopped, feeling my heart racing. I placed my hand instead on my chest to calm myself down.

"Everything will be alright, Dawn," I muttered to myself but failed to calm myself down.

This was a school for the rich, and I was miles away from being rich. If they were to ever find out, would that mean bullying?

I gasped, feeling my heart pounding faster as I began to recall memories of the past I had been trying to forget and move on from.

"Are you okay?" I heard a voice from behind me, and that distracted me from my thoughts. I slowly turned to see a cream-haired girl clad in the same uniform as I was.

A white crop top, with a long tie and a red mini skirt with white stripes. The only difference was while I had on white boots to match, she had on black heels, and her skirt was way shorter.

"Back to earth, girl, you don't need to ogle at me like that. I know I am pretty," the cream-haired girl told me, while flaunting her long hair back with her fingers, her chin held high, standing tall.

My fingers began to twitch unconsciously, my feet trembling, and my palms sweaty. I could almost feel my whole body shaking as I tried to control myself.

"Who are you, by the way?" She asked, scanning my entire appearance with her eyes.

"D-dawn Snow," I stuttered, feeling hot with her gaze on my body, while the girl threw me a curious glance.

"Why are you acting so nervous?" She asked, looking at me with a gaze filled with suspicions. My heartbeat began pounding again furiously.

"And why is your heartbeat that loud?" She inquired, and I fought the urge to smack myself.

She was a wolf, of course, and looked like one from a high rank, so of course, she would hear it.

There was silence for a few minutes, and I was about to reply to her when the hostel room barge opened, and a black-haired girl dressed in similar outfits came out.

"Oh, you must be the new student that Mr. Jones brought in today," she said clapping hands, smiling wide, and, before I knew it, pulled me into a hug.

My Jaws dropped, eyes popping out. No one has ever hugged me before.

"Nice to meet you, I am Charlie," she introduced herself while releasing me from the hug and bringing out her hand for me to shake.

I stood there stunned for a while till the cream-haired girl coughed, bringing me back to earth.

"Dawn," I told her with a thin smile while shaking her hand.

"Nice name," she complimented, and I replied with a smile.

"What are you all doing outside? Come on in," she added and dragged me with one hand, the cream-haired girl with another, and took us both into the room.

My eyes popped out and before I could stop myself, my hands reached for my mouth, covering it. The room was thrice the size of my uncle's apartment. It was covered in purple paint with white stripes at the edges. There were three huge beds in the room, one on the left, one on the right, and another in the middle.

While gazing around the room with wide eyes, I noticed there were two separate doors in the room and wondered what they were for.

"Oh! That's the bathroom and closet," the black-headed girl informed while coming close to me with a glittering smile.

"Oh," I muttered, throwing her a confused glance, wondering how she knew what was on my mind.

"I saw you looking at the door curiously," she answered again.

"Let her ask the questions before answering, Charlie, it's not like she is mute," the cream-haired girl spoke while cat-walking into one of the rooms.

Surprisingly, I could feel a sign of threat coming from the cream-haired girl and wondered why.

"Ignore Scarlett, she is like that, but she will come around later. Probably in a bad mood or something," Charlie pacified me, probably noticing my expression.

I nodded to her, and just then the bell rang.

"Time for lunch," Charlie informed me and to my surprise, started jumping up and down. Scarlett came out of the bathroom and walked out of the room without sparing any of us a glance.

Charlie helped me set things up before dragging me into a very large dining hall where students gathered for their meals. I was wowed once again but decided to stop showing my amused expression for Scarlett kept throwing me curious glances.

We sat around a large table after ordering, and I felt so out of place. Every one of them looked like what they were.

"Rich kids," which I was not. Charlie kept trying to make me mingle, as did some other nice kids, but I could not. My body was twitching uncomfortably, and I was starting to feel suffocated.

I started to get up to get some air when Scarlett stopped me.

"So, Dusk," she called out, and I saw Charlie hit her with a strict expression before correcting her.

"It's Dawn, Scarlett."

"Oh, my bad! Dawn," she called out, with a playful edge to her tone and the rest of the girls burst into laughter, while Charlie threw me a look of apology.

'This was it,' I thought and looked downwards at my feet unconsciously, my fingers shaking again. That was one of my bad habits. My fingers shook anytime I felt nervous or scared.

"Who is Mr. Jones to you, Dawn? For as far as I know, he only has one granddaughter, which is Mary here," Scarlett revealed, and I felt my world collapsing.

'His granddaughter was here?' I thought in disbelief, my jaw almost dropping. The red bell in me suddenly rang out loud.

"She is a peasant who saved my old man's life, and to reward her, she was given a scholarship to study here," I heard a tiny voice say, and my legs wobbled, my mind racing.

"What?" Everyone shrieked.
