The courtyard of Alpha Maccon was filled with stony laughter of the people that had travelled from far and near to witness the first shift of his second daughter, Ruelle.

They all had beautiful smiles plastered on their faces as they watched the 18 years old Ruelle walk in, on her paws. The blue moon shines on her light blue fur, adding beauty to her thick coat.

Alpha Maccon couldn't hide his joy as his second daughter didn't humiliate him, unlike his first ineffectual daughter who made him a figure of fun amidst his mate, four years ago.

It is the tradition of the Moon Pack’s Alpha to always hold a ceremony for their daughters on their 18th birthday.

Two things always happen that day, the girl will have her first shift and also have a mate on that day. That was the reason why they always invited people from far and near, for the celebration.

But the case was different for Griselda, Alpha Maccon’s first daughter.

Four years ago, when Griselda turned 18, her father was very happy that he invited people from outside the country to attend his daughter's ceremony.

Night came and the moon had emerged from the sky, wanting to bestow Griselda her wolf, but something unspeakable happened.

Griselda didn't have her first shift, neither did she have a mate till the blue moon vanished from the night sky.

The awful incident left everyone in shock, which made them return to their various packs disappointed.

Not in their record has such things happened in the past. They all turned their backs and left for their pack without a word.

The incident made Alpha Maccon lose the respect that other packs used to give him. He became a laughing stock because of that incident. Wherever he went or set his foot, they always pointed their mocking fingers at him. Pointing at him as the father of a wolfless daughter.

The occurrence made him replace the love he once had for his first daughter with pure hatred. He hates her to the core.

Anytime Alpha Maccon set his eyes on her, he always remembered the shame she put him through and he couldn't help but hate her even more.

He had promised to throw Griselda out of the pack as soon as the chance arise.

Ruelle walked back in on her feet. She had shifted back to her human form. She walked up to her father and he welcomed her with his arms wide open. He hugged his daughter to himself, smiling brightly.

“You did it, you make me proud, Ruelle.” He smiled, kissing the beautiful young lady on her forehead.

“Mate!” One of the prosperous Alpha at the gathering howled out the word Alpha Maccon has been dying to hear.

Ruelle couldn't hide her smile as she heard one of the top 10 Alpha called her his mate.

Not only did she did what her sister couldn't do, but she also had a mate and he's one of the richest Alpha in the nation.

She's nothing like her sister, and she's proud of herself.

Griselda came into view, holding a tray filled with drinks in her hands. She pushed through the crowd and walked to the front where her father sat.

She became a slave in her own father's house, and also in the pack that her father ruled.

She automatically became everyone’s favourite slave since the day she lost her chance of having her wolf and mate.

She lost her mother years ago which makes it impossible for her father to change his hatred for her since there is no one to question his authority.

Griselda bowed her head in shame as she served drinks she had brought from the pack’s pub to everyone on the seats.

Her hands shook terribly as she handed over a drink to her sister, a strand of her hair entered the cup which was unknown to her.

Ruelle smirked. She stood up to her feet, grabbed the cup and splashed the drink on her sister's face.

Everyone gasped at her action, then they started laughing as they watched Griselda trembled in fear. It was obvious that she was afraid of her sister, Ruelle is worse than their father when it comes to taunting.

Griselda hastily dropped the tray on the table, bowed to her sister and dash off from their midst.

Their evil laughter echoed in Griselda's ears as she ran off from their midst.

She didn't stop running until she had gotten far from her father's territory.

She ran and ran until she entered into the woodland. She sat behind a huge oak tree, crying her eyes out as she recalled every bullying she had faced in the pack that tends to deal with people with a special ability.

It wasn't her fault that the moon goddess had forsaken her.

She might not have had a wolf side but she has been helping the injured people of the pack heal their incurable wounds.

The night was hushed only the chirping of the night birds could be heard.

Griselda hugged her knees tightly to her chest, her chin resting on her knee as she sniffed in her tears.

She's been consoling herself, all alone in her dark world. The ones that ought to be her motivator are the ones that are causing her pain.

She burst into another round of tears as the thought of what her sister might likely do to her, now that she has proven herself worthy to her father made her heart ache in grief.

Her tears kept on falling and she didn't see a reason to wipe them.

Suddenly there came audible grunts, emerging from the inner part of the woodland.

Griselda stood up on her feet, she clutched tight at her worn-out dress as her pale long legs moved on their own, carrying her to where the grunt was coming from.

Griselda gasped in shock when she saw someone lying helplessly on the grasslands, he was clad in heavy armour which made her assume he was a pack warrior.

She rushed to him and lifted his head on her tight. His face was covered with blood which made it hard to tell who the guy was.

Griselda rushed to fetch some haemorrhage plants to stop the bleeding of the warrior guy.

She returned with the plants, squeezing them to get the juice out of them.

After she had made him swallowed part of the juice, she kneaded the leaf on his wound.

Making his breathing came back to normal.

She stood up from the floor, she glanced at the warrior guy for the last time before running out of the woodland, running back to where she belonged.

She knew it was not a good idea to leave a wounded person alone by himself, but she has her own life to tend to.

He's a warrior, he can't die that easily.

She entered her father's Palace through the front gate which was heavily guarded by the pack warriors.

She bowed slightly to them, it felt as though they didn't acknowledge her presence as they didn't reply to her greetings.

She gulped hard like never before and strode inside the compound.

All eyes fell on her as she walked in, making her feet turn to jelly.

She fondled with her shirt as she tried to walk away from the gathering she never wished to be.

“Griselda, gracious goodness! where are you coming from?” Her father asked sweetly, making her halted on her track.

She turned and gazed at her father who smiled sweetly at her, for the first time in four years.

“I… I went for a walk.” She stuttered. Dropping her gaze to the floor.

“That’s better, you should go and pack your belongings, you're leaving with Alpha Rezso.” Alpha Maccon said bluntly.

Griselda raised her head to look at her father.

“Why am I going with him?” She asked, not knowing where her father was heading with his words.

“Alpha Rezso visited our pack for the first time since he got appointed as the head Alpha. And… I gave you out to him as a farewell gift. Isn't that great?” Her father grinned which broke Griselda's heart into tiny pieces.

“Alpha Rezso!” She gasped in shock.
