Diana POV

Only fifteen minutes are left then we will land in Chicago, Again. I fled from this city seven years ago, I don’t want to leave this city but a terrible accident changed my whole life.

“Mommy! When will we land?” My chubby, cute son asked and I smiled at his question because he kept asking the same question again and again.

“We will land after fifteen minutes, Ryan,” He nodded his head and then again started playing with his rubik cube.

Our plane landed and I told Ryan to pick up his bag. He was very happy because It was the first time I visited another country. He loved to explore new places but I couldn’t afford this luxury with my one fulltime and one part-time job. I am working in a designing company ‘sparkles’ and they opened a new branch in Chicago. They promoted me but I have to join this branch. I don’t want to come back but I also have the responsibility of Ryan, so I accepted this offer.

“Mommy! We will stay in a hotel?” Ryan asked and I shook my head but before I could answer his question Emily shouted my name.

“Hey, Ana!!!” She shouted my name and I smiled at her childish behavior.

“Hi, Emily! How are you?” I asked in a normal tone.

“I am good and how are you?” She asked and I answered her question.

“Oh, My God! Is he Ryan? He is so handsome just like me,” She squealed in happiness after seeing him and I nodded my head.

“Hey Ryan! I am your Aunt Emily but you can call me Aunt Emy,” he hugged her and Emily was over the moon after seeing his reaction.

“Let’s go home first,” She said while picking up my bag and I held Ryan’s hand and headed towards her car.

We reached her apartment after ten minutes. She put our luggage in a separate room.

“This room is for you and this room is for Ryan,” Emily pointed out towards two different rooms and Ryan started jumping in joy.

“Wow! I got my separate room. You are so nice Aunt Emy,” He hugged her again.

“You are also so nice, Baby,” She said while ruffling his hair but he suddenly became serious.

“I am not a child anymore, Aunt Emy. I am a man, now,” Emily looked towards him with a surprised look etched on her face and then towards me. She barely controlled her laughter and nodded without uttering a word.

“Ok, Little man! Tell me what you want to eat?”

“Aunt! I want to eat Pizza and Fries,” he said after thinking about it for a second.

“I will order your food and you guys take a quick hot shower till then,” She said while dialing the number on her phone and left the room.

“Mommy! Your friend is so cool,” He was so excited and I loved him before giving him clothes and he quickly ran towards his room to take a bath.

Tears welled up in my eyes, I want to give my child the best life but with this job, I barely complete all of his basic necessities.

He didn’t deserve this life but deserves a much better life style. I quickly blinked my tears away before Emily came back and noticed them. I picked up my PJ’s and entered in the bathroom.

I entered in the bathroom and quickly jumped into a warm shower. As the warm water started cascading down my body, I felt like all the tiredness started to wash away with it. I took my time in the shower before putting on my PJ's and coming out from the washroom.

“Wooh! I felt like, you are planning to spend the night in the washroom,” Emily taunted and I gave her a smile before going with her towards the Kitchen.

Ryan was also sitting there in front of his favourite pizza while waiting patiently for us. Emily kissed him on the cheek before opening the box and serving us.

“Aunt Emily, Pizza is so yummy,” Ryan said while moaning with every bite.

“Good, I will order it more often from now on because my baby boy…Oops! My little man really liked it,” She said and we both started laughing while Ryan indulged himself in enjoying his pizza and fries.

We chatted for a bit and Ryan started feeling sleepy. I picked him up and tucked him on his new bed. Soon, He started snoring and I ruffled his hair before switching off the lights of his room.

“You have to go to sleep now and we will discuss all the other issues, tomorrow,” Emily said in a bossy tone and I nodded before heading towards my room.

I never thought that my life turned upside down after meeting him. He was the one who is responsible for this messy life. I was simply enjoying my life when he entered in my life and snatched all the beautiful dreams from my pretty eyes and pushed me into this harsh reality.

I cursed the day when I met him. Why did I save him? I kept asking this question from myself again and again even though I know that no one is going to answer this question. From the day he crossed my path, My life became fu*ked.
