~Ten Years Ago~

"Lilly?" I asked my best friend, putting down my glue stick and looking up at her. "We'll always be best friends, right?"

Lilly giggled at the question, because we both knew what the answer was. "Of course, Infinity!"

"And me!" my other best friend, Logan, spoke up. "You guys always forget me...."

"Shush, Logan," Lilly said. "It's rude to interrupt." Logan huffed and crossed his arms over his chest. "Anyway, Infinity, we're even going to be each other's maid of honor and we're going to live beside each other!"

I tilted my head to the side, confused at what she just said. "What's a maid of honor?"

"I think it means they help the bride for their wedding," Lilly said.

"Oh." I continued my craft of a macaroni picture frame, but then Lilly asked me a strange question.

"Who are you gonna marry?"

"Lilly," I said, holding back a laugh. "We're only seven. I don't think we have to talk about that yet."

Lilly looked up at me with a mischievous  smile, her brown eyes sparkling. "I bet you're gonna marry Logan."

"Hey!" Logan protested. "Don't bring me into this!"

"Oh, come on!" Lilly said. "I bet you, like, a million bucks that you two will at least be boyfriend and girlfriend."

"But me and Logan are friends," I said.

"And you will get married," Lilly said. "Right, Logan? You want to marry Infinity, right?"

"I'm not talking about getting married when I'm seven," Logan said.

"Why not?" Lilly asked. "It will happen and when it does, I'll get two million dollars!"

"I thought you said one million," I said.

"Yeah, but I'm betting another million that you'll get married," Lilly said.

"Infinity!" Mom called from the living room. "Lilly and Logan have to leave soon! You three should probably start cleaning up!"

"'Kay!" I responded, but then I sighed when I looked at my uncompleted picture frame. I guessed I had to finish it another day....

When Lilly and Logan had to leave, I gave both of them a hug, Logan first then Lilly. When I hugged Lilly, she whispered, "I'm still going to be the maid of honor at your and Logan's wedding."

"Lilly!" I said. "No! We're not getting married!"

"Whatever you say, best friend!" she said happily before leaving.

Our plan to be best friend forever worked for a long time, even with Logan. The three of us were basically inseparable; we were The Three Musketeers. That was until Logan moved when we were thirteen. Then it was just me and Lilly.

We stuck by each other's side through the tough patches. High school for one thing. We made it all the way into grade twelve before that one night. The one night where everything changed.
