Ae Ri's POV

I woke up in the morning and took in my surroundings. I was in my bed with maids in my room.

I turned to the other side of the room and let the tears roll down my cheek. Today is just going to be like every other day.

I will take my bath, dress up for school, get into one of my flashy cars and then go to school.

My parents died the same day leaving me alone in this cruel world. They travelled to Paris and were coming back home in their private jet when it exploded.

I didn't even see their bodies because everything was burnt to ashes. I've always sworn and I'm still going to swear right now. Even if it's the last thing I do on earth, I'm going to avenge my parents death because I know they were murdered. That's a promise and I'm going to keep it.

I got up from bed after saying a quick prayer.

"Good morning Young Miss" the maids greeted bowing their heads

"Morning" I responded casually

They've gotten used to my cold attitudes ever since my parents died. Before my parents died, I was a sweet little girl.

I played with all the maids and I smiled at everyone all the time but all that changed the moment they died.

I became someone that made people quiver just at the mention of my name. I'm just 16 but I've achieved a lot of things and I plan to continue that way until I'm ready to take my revenge on my parents killers.

I don't know who killed them yet but I will start investigating once I'm ready.

I went into the bathroom to see my bath prepared already so I just took off my clothes and got into the bath tub.

I relaxed for about 5 minutes before washing my body. I came out of the bathroom and applied lotion on my skin.

I collected the clothes I will be wearing to school and dismissed them.

When my parents were alive, I don't allow anyone pick my clothes for me not to talk of dress up for me but I realize I have to be strict and instill fear in my enemies so they will know I'm not an easy catch.

I've been training ever since my parents died and I can boldly say I haven't met anyone that is a match for me when it comes to swordsmanship or archery.

I took a light breakfast of beacon and eggs after which I gulped down my tea before getting into my pink Lamborghini and headed to school.

Immediately I got to school, all the students cleared the way and I walked freely to class. I'm in highschool but still, most of the students are extremely scared of me.

It's just some of the boys and few of the girls that tend to act stubborn but they still know better not to cross paths with me.

When I was still that sweet me, I didn't have any friend too because to me, friends are betrayers. Not like anyone has ever betrayed me, I've just had that mindset ever since I was young.

School closed for the day and as usual, I went home. I ate lunch, took my bath and read my books before taking a short nap. When I woke up, I went to sharpen my swordsmanship and archery skills a little.

"Young miss, lunch is ready" a maid came to me just when I finished training

"I'm not hungry" I said coldly and walked away to my room

When I got to my room, I took off my clothes and got into the bath tub. I sat there for close to thirty minutes before deciding to head back to my room.

I can't be wasting time like this if I really want to avenge my parents death.

I wore a new set of clothes and went to my study to do my home work. When I was done, I took out my maths textbook and solved some questions.

My final year exam is around the corner and I can't afford to joke with it. Although I'm the best student in my school, I still study hard everyday because I don't want anyone else to take my first position.

Ye Jun's POV

School closed for the day and I picked my bag ready to go home as usual but I stopped when I noticed Ae Ri.

Immediately the students noticed her, they cleared the way for her and she passed freely.

She wasn't always like this as I heard from the other student. They said it was the death of her parents that made her this way but it doesn't make sense right?

If you were so humble before, will the death of your parents make you really rude and proud?

Geez! I don't know why I don't like her one bit. Maybe it's because she's proud and rude or something else.

Whatever! I should learn to mind my business. I came to school to learn, not to get angry at a girl that doesn't even know I exist.

I got on my bicycle and went home.

"I'm home!" I announced as I parked my bicycle outside

"Welcome home son, how was school?" Mom asked immediately I got in

"It was fine Mom! I didn't know you meant it when you said you'll be home early today" I teased

"Of course I meant it! I want to spend time with you and your sister"

"Oppa

" I heard my little sister's voice behind me

"Little Ye Mi, how are you doing?"

"I'm not little, stop calling me little. I'm ten years old" she said counting her little fingers

"Of course, you're not little. Don't mind oppa! Big Ye Mi"

"Yeah, I love that instead!" she said nodding her head

Sometimes, I just think we're the happiest family in the world.

"Ye Jun! Ye Mi! Get dressed, were going out" Mom announced making Ye Mi jump up happily

She has always loved going out especially with Mom. I can imagine the trouble she's going to cause wherever we're going already.

*In the Mermaid world*

"Your Majesty, don't you think it's time we let the princess know about her powers? As the princess of this great kingdom, her parents were murdered but she hasn't even done a thing about it" a distant member of the Royal family said

"I agree with you! The princess has to know about her powers so she can deal with the fools that killed her parents" another person said

"You're not saying anything my queen" the first person said after a moment of silence

"If the princess returns, is she going to take over the throne?" the queen finally said for the first time

"Of course my queen! That's the right thing to do" someone answered

"Really? What about my daughter then? I've been the one ruling this kingdom ever since the king and queen died so you can't just give the throne to someone that knows nothing about this kingdom" the queen thundered

"But that was the agreement we made. The only reason why we made you queen was because you agreed to abdicate the throne immediately the princess arrives" one of the people present said

"Well, agreement can change. The princess can't take over the kingdom because she doesn't even know a thing.

How do you expect her to rule the kingdom when she has no idea how it's done? Fortunately for you, you have my daughter, Mi Cha here for you. She has learnt the duties and obligation of a ruler for over a year now and she's pretty good at it.

You saw it yourselves when she led our men to war with the neighboring kingdom three months ago. That's exactly the kind of queen we need" the queen concluded

"This isn't right Your Majesty and we won't take it" the people said and stormed off

"You haven't seen anything yet, I'm just starting with you. I ruled the kingdom for close to two years and you want to give it to someone that is going to be joining us for the first time? Why don't you try harder" the queen said withing her, a victorious smirk dancing around the corner of her lips
