Well, admit it or not. Life is ruled with money and power. You'll standout if you have them both. You can control anything according to your will. Wealthy is a title.

Ever since I was a child, I am taught sub-consciously how life works. Little by little, I learned about the poor and rich. Of course, I prefer the latter. Who would have choose hardships? And I am blessed to be one of the riches. Thanks to my ancestors who toils everyday to reach what we have now, I am born with a silver spoon. Our money came from their hardships, my parents just continued their legacy and guess what? They didn't fail for our company stays as one of the biggest company in the country.

I can do whatever I want. Burning cash. Living lavishly. Staying sassy.

“Definitely, amiga. That's my daughter. She can ace everything.” My mom proudly said.

“I envy you. My daughter barely study. She prefer partying until dawn and that's so disappointing.” Tita Faye sadly replied.

And I hate those kind of statements coming from parents. I mean, it's their child. They should be proud about them, studying or not. Smartass or not. If their child was raised well, they should be thankful enough.

Tita Faye should've more cautious of her words especially that her daughter sits just next to her. Stating about how disappointing you are in front of many hurts.

“Nah, don't say that. I know for sure that she'll find her path. Just let her and everything will fall in it's proper places.” Mom answered softly.

This is also what I am blessed of. I have parents who supports me in everything I do. No pressures. No hindrances. They love me enough that they let me do what makes me happy.

I smiled proudly. “I agree with Mom, Tita. At first, I don't really know what I want. It just came up suddenly then the next thing I know, I'm studying law.”

“Hmm. I hope my daughter find it in her heart also. I really hope so.” she said.

After a couple of minutes, they left. She's some sort of Mom's friend living just near our house.

I went upstairs and sat on my bed. I picked up my phone and checked my schedule for today. Oh! I have to study. We have a quiz tomorrow and recits also. Yeah, law school it is.

I walked on the hallway and sashayed my way to the library. There are lots of paperworks left here. It's Dad's. Before I forgot, I have to call him about some matters. I immediately dialed his digits.

  “Hello, Dad.”

“Yes, sweetie. What is it?” he answered. I heard someone discussing something on the background. Maybe he's at a meeting.

“Are you in a meeting?” I asked what is obvious.

“Yup but that's okay. It's not really that important. So, why do you call?” he said. I can hear him smiling.

“Its about the car I was asking you... Uhm, you said it's today. But I can wait till your meeting's done.” I said hesitantly.

“On it. We'll buy you a car now—”

“I can wait, Dad. Really.” I said truthfully.

“My precious beautiful daughter shouldn't wait.” he replied. “I'm going. Just hit me up later, Garry, about the details.” he said pertaining to his secretary.

He hung up the phone after we bid our I love yous and goodbyes. I run excitedly to my room and dress up.

“Studying can wait...” I whispered to myself, grinning.

My mom caught me smiling sheepishly at the living room waiting for Dad.

“What's that smile about, hmm?” she asked me. “Are you having a blind date?”

I gasped. “No, Mom! I mean, no, I don't. Well, Daddy and I will have a date. He'll gonna buy me a car. As in now.”

“Oh. Why am I not included in your date?” she asked me, pouting.

“It's a father and daughter date, Mom. It's Dad's time now since we're always dating every month.” I grinned.

She nods sarcastically. “Yeah, if it's you then date means shopping.”

“You're really my Mom!” I exclaimed and we both laugh.

I heard a car arrives. It must be Dad. I hugged Mom and run towards the entrance door to welcomed Dad but it isn't Dad. It is Garry, his secretary.

“Hey, Mr. Garry. Where's Dad?” I asked him as soon as he approached me.

“He left an hour ago, Miss Raven. I thought you're already with him. He ordered me earlier to guard your Mom here.” he answered politely.

“What? We've been waiting for him almost an hour now. Call him.” I commanded.

“On it, miss.” He picked up his phone from the pocket inside his suit and tapped on it. After a few second, the phone rings but no one's picking it up. He tried it again but the line's busy.

I tried it myself. He'll gonna answer it no matter how busy he am. I dialed it with a trembling hands. I don't want to feed my thoughts with scary scenes but it is very unusual of him.

“Rai, what's going on?” My mom asked.

“We're calling Dad, Mom. He's not picking up his phone. Where do you think he is right now?” I nervously muttered.

“Oh, god! Maybe he's up for a surprise but if that's so, he should've called me. I'm always his accomplice when surprising you. I'm starting to get nervous about it...”

I walked back and forths while my phone is at my ears. Dad, I'm waiting... If this a surprise then you win. “Dad, answer the phone please...”

My Mom ordered the maids to call every possible places that Dad might be. Mom told me to calm as fuck but how? There's a lot of possibilities that maybe he was kidnapped by his enemies or he was in an accident. What the hell is in my mind? I can't focus on positive sides because I was clouded with a different aura, dark aura.

The telephone near the television rang. I run towards it and aswered. I placed it near my ear to hear it properly. Maybe this is Dad. I hope.

“Is this Villego Residence?” A baritone voice asked. I got confused. Who was it?

  “Y-Yes, it is. Why?”

“This is Captain Lozano of Alitagtag Police Station. I'm sorry but you have to come here. Mr. Raymond Villego is found dead inside his car.” He directly said.

My mouth agaped in shock. I suddenly felt the excruciating pain in my chest. “T-Tell me it isn't t-true...”

“Im sorry for your loss,” he sighs.

“No! That's not true! No...” I cried myself out.

My chest hurts more and before everything turns black, I saw Garry approaching as well as Mom.
