  JUNE 12TH____

There was a word for people like Zach Anderson, clueless.... he was big hearted, trusting, friendly but most importantly he didn't have a clue about life and how it really worked.

I know what it sounds like...but

I'm not the hero, I'm not going to swoop in and save him from his own stupidity. to tell the truth, I didn't want anything to do with Zachary Anderson. •••°°•••

I wipe blood from my left cheek, leaning back on the heels of the black high tops and letting a exhausted sigh escape my sour, busted lip.

The limp body of joesph crane rested against the dinted lockers where I had I tossed him. Blood trickled from his busted nose, down his lips and dipped off his chin and on to his white, freshly pressed shirt.

I took a minute to catch my breath before looking up at the surrounding students who stared, wide eyed between me and unconscious Joesph.

I was starting to feel like a zoo animal when they didn't take their eyes off me.

I raised my head higher to get a look at the figure approaching me, a clip board tucked under her arm, hair pulled as tight as she could possibly manage, tight skirt with the matching blouse.

  principal Joanne Potter.

"I can explain..." I say looking up as she towers over me, her narrowed brown eyes examining the blood on my face.

She raised a brow, tapping her fake, neon green nails against the clipboard. "Remove yourself from Crane this instant."

I roll my eyes and push myself off the floor, standing up in front of her.  "I didn't even start it." I grumble reaching up and loosing the black tie around the neck of my shirt.

"Walk Crane to the nurse!" She shouts to the first student to catch her attention. "You come with me!" She grabs the tie out from under my hands and gives it a yank, dragging me down the hall.

"This is harassment!" I shout as I stumble along, her hand gripping my shirt tie.

She shoved the door open and gives me a good shove into the office.

"Take a seat." She growled turning her back to me and walking through a side door.

I sigh and turn to four chairs lined up against the office wall.

I glance to the kid sitting in farthest seat away, playing on what looked to be a DS. Being in the antisocial group, I gladly took a seat in chair closet to me and farthest from him.

If only I had Known what kind of trouble awaited me....

  "Hey."

I roll my eyes in annoyance and turn my head to look at him. It was then I noticed his short stature and the messy blonde and black hair that hung in his face, it seemed he attempted to dye his hair but his black roots started to show.

  "What..." I grumble at him.

"Gum?" He asks holding a packet out to me.

I glance at the gum in his hand then back up at his smiley face.

"It's watermelon favor." He points out.

"As much as I adore eating watermelon..." I turn away from him folding my arms over my chest. "It's a hard No..."

"Oh..."  He turns back in his seat, swinging his legs back and forth under the chair.

I sigh, annoyed and glance back over at me.  "Are you new here or something?" I ask letting my crossed arms loosen and drop my hands in my lap.

"Nope." He smiles looking back at me.  "Are you?" He tilts his head in curiously.

"What? No...." I huff and shake my head, turning away from him.

How much longer Mrs Potter take in there.

Not that I really cared, but I had classes to attend.

It was almost like she could read my mind, Everytime I got in trouble she was always first to arrive and bust my ass.

The side door opens and Mrs Potter steps out, setting her stupid clipboard down on a nearby desk. "Mr Johnson..."

I frown, standing up from the chair.

"That's not the name I go by... See, that's my dad's name, I go by my mom's maiden name, which is Black...."

I didn't Know it was possible but her eyes seem to narrow at me even farther, her eyes must've been shut by now.

"I don't care, Connor! It's the name that's on your file and it's the name I'm going to use!" She shouts, her hands clenching up. "The principal wants to see you now.."

"Okay, okay..." I mumble stepping past her and reaching for the door handle.  I stop, hand on the knob and turn my head to look at her.  "Did I tell you how stunning those green nails are, today?"

  "Connor!!"

"I'm going!"  I shout back at her before yanking the door open and walking in.  "Jeez..."  I grumble under my breath, as I walk to the principal's desk and take a seat.

"Connor... This is the third time this month, I've seem you in here.." principal Sterling sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose, before dropping his hand on his desk and looking up at me.

"It wasn't my fault... Joseph started the fight anyways."  I grumble, leaning back and crossing my arms over my chest.  "By the way,. Who's the kid outside, doesn't look like he could hurt a fly...."

"I don't know, Connor..." He let's out another exhausted sigh. "I like you, Connor... I don't want to see you go and you're great at basketball, I could only imagine what kind of future you might have with that...." He rambles on.

I stare at him for a moment, confused.

Why would he say that?  Everyone wanted me to leave. I was their worst student.

"So...what? Do I get community service or something?" I ask, raising my boots up and pushing against his desk.

"Connor, you knocked Joseph out... He could be seriously hurt... You need to take responsibility." He says tapping his pointer finger against his desk.

I frown, dropping my boots to the floor and leaning forwards in the chair.  "Look, can we just skip the whole lecture part? Just tell me a punishment or something!" I snap at him, catching him by surprise.

He leans back in his office chair, folding his arms over his chest. "...I want a three page essay on what you think you did wrong."

"Are you serious!?" I fly up from the chair, slapping my hands down on his desk. "I didn't do anything wrong!"

"Let's make it four..." He growls, looking down at my hands.

I clench my jaw and step back, removing my hands from his stupid desk.

"Whatever..." I mumble looking over at the door.  "Can I go?" I ask.

  "Yes..."

I turn on my heels and stomp to the door, throwing it open and stomping out.

I glance at the kid still sitting there, playing his game again.

I huff and turn, walking out into the hall.

I hated most the staff here, just like they hated me.  I was like something to take their anger out on, no one else got in trouble like I did and if they did, they didn't even pay for it. I hated this school and everything about it.
